My mum used to grow these "money plants" - they're said to be lucky. She had some rather large ones, like little trees. Funnily enough my MIL has the same at her house.🙂 After mum passed away I inherited one of her plants, which I've looked after for a number of years now. I've decided to make a few more from the original and get them to grow in a more orderly fashion ... & pass some on to my daughter. Thanks for the great tutorial. I feel confident to do it now without the fear of killing my mum's original plant. Here's to all going well ... 🤞🏻🙏🏻
My mom gave me her jade tree and it’s since grown a ton of little leaves all over, and I’m nearly ready to start propagating! I just didn’t know the details or process for starting jade babies. So thanks!!
Great video! I like how you show every step and give extra details in writing. Why do you need to replant the jade if they're already growing well in the first pot? Could you just plant each small piece in its own pot and let it grow so you don't need to repot?
Thank you so much that was very informative.. I’m going to try it, as I have two very healthy plants in pots and would like more. I just love Jade plants 💕
I watched this video about a month ago and decided to try to propagate my plant….fast forward to now my depressed butt accidentally left it outside and killed my baby (3 years down the drain 😭) but one of my prop attempts actually worked and now I’m gonna be guarding it with my life (My baby plant is still in its glass growing it’s cute little roots)
Just ordered a cutting yesterday. The golden crassula. It's so pretty. I'm banking on your video to help me care for it. Plan to use in a terrarium. Your content is excellent. I loved your video. Thank you for sharing.
I just discovered that my jade has root rot, many leaves shed and stem broke... if i cut from above and place the cutting in dry soil do you think it will develop roots ? 😞 my plant is dying, is there still hope?
I have a jade plant I got and it’s just falling apart. There’s LOTs of growth so I’m going to try to separate and bring it back to life!! I’ll follow you and let you know how it goes 💜🥰 thank you!
Great video. I "liked" as well. I hope I'm doing the right thing by just plucking petals off of healthy branches then dipping them in rooting powder and laying them over the top of the soil of another potted plant I have, then wait for the roots to emerge before planting them on their own. It's been a couple of weeks and I haven't seen any new roots yet. I guess I'll wait a while longer and need to be more patient. I'm doing the same with an Echeveria Von Nurnberg and Graptopetalum I have. They have already produced new budding along with some tiny roots. I planted them in some succulent potting soil in some homemade plastic cups with holes in the bottom of course. Wish me luck!

I realize your comment is 5 months old but to answer your question, yes, it is necessary. You have to allow the cuttings to callous over/dry out where you cut them to prevent them from rotting and dying.
Outdoor..this plant also needs direct sunlight for a few hours. Also you need to water less often to make it grow. My jade is in balcony where it gets direct sunlight for 1 hr and I water it every 15 days. It's doing well. But do not give direct sunlight in extreme summer. Keep it in indirect bright sunlight but outdoors. It is not an indoor plant

Hi Deb...In my opinion, you can do the pruning before or after repotting. I prefer to let my new plants settle down in my home environment for 2- 3 weeks and then I repot them using fresh soil. But if you want to prune after repotting, it's better to give your plant ample time (at least 2-3 months) to adjust in its new pot. Hi Priyanka... there are many reasons of leaf drop. It can be lack of sufficient nutrients in soil, over watering, pests or insufficient light. Once you identify and fix the problem you may be able to revive it soon. Overwatering quickly leads to root rot. First stop watering for a longer period of time, let its soil dry completely. From next time wait until top 2/3 inches of soil dries out before watering again. If you are dealing with root rot you need to repot your plant in well draining soil. Remove rotting roots during repotting. Not getting sufficient light can also cause leaf drop , place your plant in bright but indirect sunlight.

If we use the in water method, do we let the clippings callus over for a couple of days first or can they go straight into the water after clipping?
