    I tried this - put a couple of my succulent leaves in mud and let it dry and then transferred some of them to a plastic water bottle as you showed. The ones in the water bottle grew roots within couple of days. I noticed only one that I left on the mid had a tiny root after almost a week and the other one still nothing. I transferred them both to the plastic bottle with the rest.
    The interesting thing is, the leaves I picked from the parent plant are not even healthy looking but each one of them did well in the water propogation. Amazing !!!
    I am super excited that they are all growing roots now. Thank you so much.

      @@xmo552 right? Lol.. I think when he's doing the water method, it's not actually in the water, but the moisture and humidity near the bottom of the leaf is the equivalent of being on top of moist soil, if it were actually in the water it would rot just like too much moisture in your soil will rot it

    Basically it will work harder to get to the water to survive, creating roots. Like a baby, when learning to walk you can’t hold its hand always you must allow the toddler to come TO you in order for it to be strong 💪. Also, would you be willing to add your own subtitles? The ACTUAL reason you don't let the end touch the water is because it will ROT... the humidity in the jar is what makes it grow... But if left in there too long it would still rot.

    I bought a beautiful plant from the store about a week ago and it’s the only one out of all my plants to die :( it’s so beautiful. It’s about 99% dead at this point so I was trying to save the live leaves that I accidentally pulled off, but comparing what I have to what you have, I think they may be too far gone to save. I wasn’t ready to be a plant mom yet like I thought 😔

    • @aldouskenneth
      @aldouskenneth  4 года назад +17

      Hey blazereh. No one was born ready to be a plant parent. Me, too, I've killed my first succulent - and that pushed me to buy more and research about it more. So, that's why I am making videos to help every aspiring plant parent out there to know more. So I hope you learn something in our videos. You can also watch our videos regarding soil mix, cleaning succulents and air drying succulent if you want, to help you out. Remember that being a plant parent needs patience and willingness - no GREEN thumb needed! So, I recommend you to buy another one, search for care tips and never give up!!! HAPPY PLANTING! God bless!

    It would help to know when to take the plantlet out of the water or soil and plant them in a pot, How big should the new plant be?

    • @aldouskenneth
      @aldouskenneth  2 года назад +1

      It is not in the new plant. The roots should be long enough to be stable in the soil when you move it. But be sure to airdry it :)

    Do the water container have to be clear ?

    • @aldouskenneth
      @aldouskenneth  3 года назад +2

      It does not. There are some studies that clear containers are prone to having the inside of it be full with molds. However, it is better if you want to know and track tge inside of it. So yeah, it's on you, they have their own pros and cons.
