This just shows how good the SS86 versions could be. The Shockwave is the only one I'd need at the minute and he is amazing, but with SS86 coming for them, I passed.
I agree with the Head. Everything on that Megatron looks great, except for the head. On my Netflix Megatron, I took the pins off and removed the backpack. But this tank mode looks pretty awesome. Also, there is a netflix soundwave, that transformed into a microcassette recorder. It has pretty much the same mold. The light piping is way better. I think they tinted SoundWaves eyes for some reason.
Part of me really wishes they still included Ravage and Shockwave's armour from the original releases of Netflix Sounwave and Siege Shockwave but these figures look great regardless. Siege shockwave is incredibly hard to find and Netflix Soundwave is even more scarce, so it's awesome to have a way of getting them with Premium Decos. The metalic finish on Megatron almost makes me forgive the problems with the Earthrise mould
Take away the surface detail, and Shockwave will be unreal. I wouldn't be unhappy if that was all they did for the SS86 version when he finally comes out.
The only original i had when i bought this was netflix soundwave. And the light piping on the og is amazing but the paint on the new one is much better. (So i swapped the heads problem solved lmao)
@@MrLoubat Hmm for Netflix Soundwave it took about a year to start showing signs. Typically the upper legs, eject button, turn brown, and the blue pieces for the shoulder blades start to fade to a green, as well as the back heel flaps, as well as the gun things that hand off his wrists. Then the Caps in tapdeck mode will turn brown, as well as the side flaps to the left and right of the controls. Also the blue pieces that are.snapped.onto the side of his left and right legs turn green as well.
@SovereignKnight74 I suppose there is a chance of it yellowing, but the polymer issue that caused it has l9ng since been rectified and yellowing is much less common a problem nowadays
@@MrLoubat I wish I could belive that, but Hasbro hasn't announced it's addressed the problem. It's clear they haven't as some folks have 86 Ultra Magnus yellowing out of the box. There's also reports of Takara Tomy's Lunar Optimus Prime yellowing. If you check out the tfw2005 pages, you'll see yellowing is still a big problem, unfortunately.
Meh. Nothing will convince me that the Best Soundwave figures released to date, are the G1 Reissues. He's the same size as the more modern figures, and he just looks great. Pretty sure his cassette figures are slightly larger, too.
Also, Shockwave here IS basically the Siege version, but with more cartoon accurate colours. I agree about the detailing. That's a carry-over from the Siege mould that they really should have smoothed out for an even more cartoon accurate Shockwave.
The knees were easy, just a Phillips head screwdriver. The rest of the loose joints are all pinned though so you'd need some kind of polish or joint tightener to thicken up the plastic surfaces, I personally use Kiki's
2:00 that was a smooth ass transition. Props!

Chair MVP 💪
awesome review man, stumbled upon your channel and got addicted
Hell yeah, cheers bud!
Disappointing to see that this Soundwave uses the same plastic that will yellow like the Netflix version. Might have to cancel my preorders.
Im not sure it does, I've had mine for a month now and not seen any signs of yellowing

Has there been any issue with yellowing on any of the figures, since both Megs and Soundwave have been notorious for having said issue
I can't say my copies are showing any signs of it thankfully

Meh.

I’m a bit concerned about Megatron having loose limbs, can you tell me how to best tighten the joints? Like, what tool would I need?

Damn takara is soooo back
Hell yeah
Apart from the weird QC issues, I would agree!
Man I really want this set. More cartoon accurate than their mainline releases with those extra touches of paint!
Can frenzy and rumble eject from soundwave like how Lazer beak would?
There's no real hitches with them and the cassette chest no
Is this in stores or online only?
It isn't at mass retail unfortunately, some collector focused stores may stock it but its mostly gonna be an online exclusive
Sorry, But Shockwave was never on the Nemesis!
He was in the comic.

The Nemesis wasn't in the marvel comic
