I think pushing mongo is only a problem for right handed people who skate regular, and left handed people who skate goofy. I don’t know if this is true, because I’m goofy footed and right handed. Can someone back me up? I know my dad throws his board down mongo so I assume this is the case. Edit: also because of this theory I’ve never had a problem with mongo pushing, as it was harder anyway.

That sounds very similar to me. I was landing one kickflip out of twenty by the end of my first week. Ollie's and pop shuvits all good. I thought man this ain't that hard, BUT since then I haven't really been able to learn much more. It's been a couple of years and I've got those 3 tricks down and I'm trying to skate more transition, but I've not learnt any major new tricks.

re "looking forward" instead of looking on ur board. How then I suppose to abort my tricks in the air down stairs for example? I should look at my deck to realize I failed trick and abort it (kick board away and fall safely). I believe you should look in both directions or so, simultenously or alternately
i injured my hip for several weeks, skating mongo, for switch. think it's literally bad for your hips. as a skateboarder starts to want to do more switch skating, people sometimes skate switch mongo which is viewed as accetable as it's only when skating switch, and it also kind of lets viewers know hey this is switch or fakie, in cases when you can't tell from the style of the trick. But really I recommend even in this case to not skate mongo, as I said I injured my hip when doing a noticeable amount of switch skating. So it just good to learn to switch over to switch pushing, with out using a mongo push, not even one, you just put your back foot really far up behind your front foot, and then like a fluid skip push switch and that it. a lot of times in a line we use a 180 type trick to get to switch and then like maybe a shovit, but you can just do this too, I'm still learning it, but it is somethign I remember now older pro's that skated lot of technical street lines would do and it actually takes some getting used to. I remember always hearing that it fucks up your hip or something to skate mongo, always thought it was a joke but it's sadly real.

Ok so can I not Ollie yet because my board is really tick/spgeavy (I have been skating for only a month) just asking to know if my board is too heavy or I just need to practice my Ollie more!
I think you are wrong about the trucks being tight. Because when u started out skating I could barely stand on the board. And when I righted them I was able to train my legs to kick and push. After a week I loosened my trucks and was to ride the skateboard normal. I do the same thing when learn tricks. I tighten the truck practice for about week then loosen them up afterwards which helps.

Mongo is weird. Try to learn regular too mate. Not criticizing you in any way. But regular is so much better
It's harder to keep your balance when you push mongo, you'll have an easier time pushing regularly.
if you want want to go fast mongo pushing is not really recommended cuz balancing its harder its like driving a car with no steering
