Advice to my younger self 1. Find somewhere soft to land on, it doesn't make you less of a man 2. DON'T psych yourself up all the time, relax and put power where it should be 3. Don't get stuck on something you can't do. Move on, come back to it 4. Learn variations before just trying to move on to the next rotation
I did an Arabian accidentally when I was trying to do a backflip i lost confidence and half way switched to a front flip and to this day I can do Arabians on ground
My rules: 1. Don't do anything you aren't sure you can do. 2. When you do it, stay calm and think of the movement. Drill it while on ground if it's necessary. 3. If you're sure you can do it, why not? 4. STAY AWAY from any sort of pressure. Social, yourself, it doesn't matter. Your actions have to be deliberate, calm and from your will alone. 5. Don't be an idiot. Brute force is never enough. If you can jump you can flip. Just know the technique and drill it until it's ingrained.
That's just a matter of pushing yourself in a save environment. Sit van be fucking scary but on a trampoline or above water you're pretty much safe. Then you have to push yourself to do it, after a few tries it will get easier and easier
When I learned, I had two spotters and on soft gymnastics mats. Then I had only one spotter. Then one spotter that is a few feet away. Then no spotter. Then no mats. Hope this helps.
There are three options: 1. Just fucking send it 2. Accidentally fucking send it 3. Gradually build up to the flip you're trying to do, e.g. start by doing it onto tons of mats, slowly reduce the number of mats until there aren't any mats left
Noob here. #2 is so true for me. I spent a year way too scared to do a standing back tuck on ground. Too scared to even do it into a foam pit. Then I bought a trampoline and after a week I've been attempting on ground (with some pillows) multiple times with no fear or hesitation. One more week and I should have it. I love your videos, keep it up!!!
Another great video, I'm nearly 38 and have been following and watching you for nearly 2 years. Your advice, tips, honesty and humor have kept me going and helped my progress in PK, GYMNASTICS and body conditioning more than ever...keep up the great work and thank you bro
The technique thing is my friends problem,he doesn’t like watching tutorials to learn techniques, and he doesn’t want me to either,I’m progressing way faster than him and he still wonders why,I am going to show him this video
Lucas I wanted to give you a tip on Cody’s so you can get them better so, if you bend your knees when you go to stomach by trying to put your feet to your butt and then swing your legs when you go up it will give you so much more power and momentum. Love your videos though.
First thank you so much it help so much while you was explaining I thought that you are talking about my life past few years. But when someone already experienced say something like this really clicked my head 😊 thank you it's really helpful
Thanks for this man you are very inspiring to me and i know you wont see this much less reply but you are the person who made me inspired me to do flips. I started a tumbling class yesterday and i learned how to do a front flip on the trampoline. Thanks for the advice man.
Ye man I've asked lots of people who are experienced in flipping to a degree where they can judge what help them progress and most say learning the technique on the tramp then taking it to the ground! Luckily I'm getting one in a week so I hope I can improve majorly!
Everytime you say "but you gotta focus" a different funny way I wish there was a heart-likebutton like the one on facebook instead of a simple thumbs up ^^
You are so funny man thx for all the info i m doing the same trying to gain weight and learn flips and i m getting little progress but with your tips i m sure i will progress alot faster now
Sound advice. But for the trampilone one has to know some technique, otherwise bad landing can lead to serious injuries. A pit foam /sand pit / pool/ a very thick mat (witu memory foam is far better than a trampoline, regardless if you know technique or not.
guys if you're afraid of sth. get the softest mat you can possible find and do it on there. Backflip? mat! roundoff backflip? more mats!! combos? Freaking everthing on mats! Saves your joints, saves your time.
I just started learning flips lol I learned the cartwheel from Ronnie street stunts and I'm learning the front handspring for weeks now lol, any tips? i use my cartwheel to progress into the front handspring
I just got my front handspring. It took a while, but believe or not, the easiest thing to do is just go for it. Don't be scared, the trick is to get your legs over fast and get a good running start. Good luck!
@@mariechoi-schattle3047 Gonna remember this! Do you focus on pushing with your shoulders too? Sometimes I get this moments where basically nothing happens lol. My fear kicks in and i can't even get to the ground anymore even tho i just did it (almost) right
YassinLwest Yes, pushing with your shoulders helps a lot. To practice this, get into a handstand, bend your elbows, then straighten them again. Just do this a couple times then attempt the front handspring. It should help with the fear too.
Hey i noticed right at the beginning there’s some footage of you at Michigan State! One was at IM West and the other clip was in the gymnastics room at Jenison. Did you attend MSU?
Do stretches, a lot of flips require some flexibility and I was strung up very tight when I started of, I tore my hamstrings when I landed my first front flip. It wasn't fun.
Hey pigmie, can you please make weight loss video that includes learning flips and tricks in the progress, I have 40 more days with a back garden, I'm 90kg at 183cm
This video was filmed on my birthday. Also I want to learn to do the backflip but I just don't have the patience and I am scared to do the backflip and backhand spring.
I tried to focus on one thing, but in my mind its like "i think in going to far, and that flip is hard, i should try a easy one" and that happens a lot
You should let people send in flip footage so you can correct it. I know I need some help!
Liam Gaeuman yes please
YEESS!!!!
My back full looks like s*** and i dont know what im doing wrong
I’ve been doing front flips for like 2 years now and it looks really bad and nothing has changed... help

Hi
I'm stuck in back handspring now
When somebody makes a video like this, you truly know they want you to actually teach you, not just look cool

That’s awesome

Could you do more videos on breaking the psychological barrier to do flips
You just need to bring yourself to do it on a safe surface like a swimming pool or an airbag.

Can u do an air awareness tutorial plz
You can't teach someone air awareness, that's something you'll just have to get by practicing
