My brother was an RAF low-level attack instructor, flying in North Wales valleys, ground hugging. I asked him how he could judge the height with the altimeter being useless at low level. He said 'You use the sheep. If you can see their legs, you're OK. If you can see their eyes, you're too low.'
One of life's little shoots of happiness is when your walking along, countryside etc & a jet comes over. Always, always gives you feeling of excitement & just great to see. Thanks for sharing.
I spent a couple of months in Britain back in 2012, and one thing I really noticed out in the countryside was just how many fighters there were zipping about. Typhoons, Tornados, Eagles, even a few Spitfires. There's a certain dichotomy to be found in wandering around the ruins of an ancient Roman fort, surrounded by sheep while a farmer works his eighty year old tractor, and a pair of some of the world's most modern aircraft roar overhead.
This is correct. The ancient ruins and the old tractors are a front. Behind which 80 per cent of the adult population own and fly current and former fighter aircraft. They are kept underneath virtually every property in the UK. Hence why you saw so many in the air. You missed out on seeing commonplace Hunters, Harriers, Hawks, Hurricanes, Haribos, and Hulahoops. Pop back over and stay again, you can’t miss them.
One big reason why we holiday around Wales, Cumbria and Scotland and even Yorkshire, Devon and Cornwall...this country has a lot to offer, just not enough time to see all of it.....who needs to go abroad hey 😉😊
Fo a moment, about the 11.18 point, I genuinely thought the video had frozen, because the two aircraft were so stable compared to each other. Fantastic flying and and an obviously wonderful machine to fly.
Brilliant! All the very best to RAF personnel. Flew with you for 3 years, and never saw anything less than 100% from all. Nice feeling working with intelligent professionals. Beautiful jet, beautiful views of the countryside. Like others have said, when seen like this, the only thing that takes your breath away more than the flying is how staggeringly stunning our country is, nowhere like it in the world imho. The way these aircraft just skirt around the edge of the hills just blew me away. Thanks guys.

Great footage. I remember being a university student at Wye in Kent back in 2004, and suddenly two Typhoons flew over the village at similar altitude shaking windows' glasses and spirits. The village talked for two days about it!
Came to confirm the twists and turns of the loop as I mapped them out for FS2020. Yep, looks just like it. Now I have a sense for how fast these guys are going and how they take the tight ripples through that one valley. Flight sim is super realistic but I imagine without the G loading it doesn't come close to the same feeling.

I wish I could show this video to the pioneers of flight back in the late 1800s. Just to show them how effortless it is to fly through the sky and manoeuvre. And especially the bit after 11 minutes 30, weather I just cruising at 30 thousand feet absolutely still without a worry in the world at 500 miles per hour. They were just born at the wrong time. But it's amazing what's happened in the last 130 years.
