12:58 Holy moly! That art is gorgeous!
I've never read a ROM comic but I'm getting more and more interested
My first ROM comic was actually ROM #1. It was my first ever comic too, funny enough. My dad used to be into comics when he was a kid (around the ROM era) and he managed to keep around a ton of them. So back when i was around 10 or 11 i found his stash and raided it. I read ROM #1 along with his issues of the original Secret Wars and was head over heels for it! He never finished the whole of Marvel's ROM, so im trying to get all these omnis so that he can read it straight through again. And of course also for my own selfish desire to have the Romnibus collection.
First ROM comic was the ROM omnibus Vol. 1.
I was in middle school and collecting comics after ROM ended. I remember my one comic collecting friend in middle school asking me if I’d read ROM, which I hadn’t, and he told me a little about the history of the Space Knights.
Fast forward many years later, I’m watching Near Mint Condition’s ROM Vol 1 overview, and I’m thinking that even though I never read this, it sounds so familiar. Then it all came back to me. This is the story that my middle school friend,Jason, told me about in 1988-89. That is the moment I knew I’d be buying all three ROM books.
First was the first Omnibus. Nevee too late to start.
My first comic was Avengers #71 with the iconic battle in front of the Eiffel Tower. I loved it when my folks treated me to a single comic book every so often and I always remember that cover!
I love the second omnibus review of ROM and I can't wait to receive mine I ordered the ROM Annual Cover for mine. I love ROM.❤️❤️❤️❤️💯💯💯💯💯
My first ROM comic was Marvel 2 in 1 when he teamed up with Thing. I love that they’re reprinting the ROM series in omniboo. Definitely was a top 3 on my overall Omni wishlist.
I had no idea they had come out with these! I loved ROM as a kid, I just remember these stories being way more reading heavy than the regular Marvel comics, and i can see from you flipping through the book, it does indeed seem to be the case. I have to get these.
I have now learned about things that happens in New Warriors concerning Turbo. Thank You. First comic I think was All Star Comics #65 (Secret Origin of Johnny Quick) but it might have been a G.I. Joe comic with Battleforce 2000 on the cover.
My first comic was G.I.Joe #121 “To save the silent castle” which quickly became my favourite series and brought me into comics. I discovered Rom over the pandemic with a stack of issues 1 to 3 but as much as I loved these I could never find more than an odd few issues… at least until the omnibus came along! Love to see this material out there!
My first ROM was not until issue #22. My favourite was actually an issue in this volume…ROM annual #2. Great video btw!
Would LOVE to see a Shogun Warriors omni. Licensing rights be damned!
I bought Rom issue 1 when it first came out back when I was in the 9th grade. I never did have the issues collected in this omni so this volume will be all new to me! Thanks Omar!
I didn't remember my first ROM issue until I looked it up by cover. # 46 was purchased at the Baltimore Comic Con through a retailer's bargain bins, and it helped get me excited for when the Space Knights appeared years later in "Annihilation: Conquest".
Outside of the daily newspaper comics, the first comic I purchased was "Sonic the Hedgehog" (1992) # 0 through Waldenbooks. It got me started on my journey in comics that has continued through this day!
This was yet another stellar review, and I hope people come out in a horde to pick up this new volume!
Thx for another video Omar! My first Rom comic is the 1st ROMnibus! Was more interested in the Micronauts as a kid, so glad to have these ROM stories collected!
Hi Omar, my first comic book was a collection of some of the thor stuff by stan lee and jack kirby. Started my love for the genre💙
Bummed I didn’t get to enter! It was a quick turnaround, but oh well. Congrats to the winnwr
Hey Omar!!! I just bought ROM Omnibus volume 1, and I am excited to read it. My first Marvel comic that I bought was actually Amazing Spider-Man 504, where Spidey helps Loki protect his daughter. First comic in general was Archie Comics Sonic the Hedgehog. I am a huge fan of your channel, and I have grown my collection a lot because of your recommendations. Keep being awesome!!!
My First ROM Comic was the First Omnibus this Year. Never knew of ROMs Existence as a Child in Germany.
I love Rom ! My first Rom issue is 17 with the Xmen ! Love u 😊
I picked up the first Romnibus and instantly loved these comics. Can’t wait for vol 2!
That's good to hear. I think I'm going to give it a go. The series seems really fun.
My first ROM comic #52. That cover blew me away because it was by the genius Bill Sienkiewicz.
First comic I remember loving was Calvin and hobbes
My first comic was amazing spider-man 300. Still in love with that cover! Been a spidey fan ever since.
My first ROM comic was issue #1, back in my younger days (I'm 74 now). The first comic i bought that started me collecting was Avengers #4 which reintroduced Captain America.
First Rom comic? ROM #1, of course!
Would love this Omar! First comic hmm… probably an Incredible Hulk!
My first ROM Comic was ROM Annual #2 and for that reason it's also the Omnibus cover that I'd prefer.
my first Rom comic was issue #1. I bought it at the local grocery store when it hit the shelves in December of 1979. I was 10 years old
My first ROM comic was ROM Omnibus Vol 1. Ever since I saw the toy ad for ROM (and the Sal Buscema house ad and a Vol 1 cover) in other Marvel books as a kid, I have always wanted to read this series and it did not disappoint! Really enjoyed Vol 1 and really looking fwd to getting Vol 2 (hint hint 😜)
I remembered my first ROM was issue 29.
Hey hey. Great work as always. First issue was Rom 1. Courtesy of a friend. Would love a definitive Journey into Mystery...enjoy your break
My first comic was Asm vol. 2 #42. I was only two but the spider-man movie had ignited my life long passion for comics.
My first comic was GI Joe #54. And my first time reading ROM was the first omnibus. It was so good and made me a Bill Mantlo fan.
Akin and Garvey marked a shift toward horror. The Shang Chi issue occurred at a time when no series featured this character.
my first rom comic was rom annual 1, but i never read it. I bought that issue of rom for my little cousin who’s 12 but loves rom, so Everytime I’m at the comic store I always look for rom issues for her to give to her. If I won the giveaway I’d give her the book honestly. But my first comic is a tie with green arrow new 52 volume 1 and justice league of america 103 thought the cover was so cool when I was 12 and bought that with my 20 dollar allowance for the week haha. Still have it to this day!
My first comic was Darth Vader by Charles Soule. Great video as always Omar!
My first comic was Marvel Tales Amazing Spider-Man#5.
Have a safe trip Omar.
My first comic was the Infinity War TP, was so excited when I got it, long time since!!
My first comic book was Charlie hustons moon knight in paperback, I recently upgraded to the omnibus after seeing your overview and am excited to read the rest of the run
First comic I can remember owning was a Star Comic - either Alf #1 (I know, I know) or Thundercats #1, or some issue of Ewoks or Heathcliff.
I had never heard of ROM before growing up. I read the xmen crossover in the uncanny omnis and loved it so I bought volume 1 a couple months back. I’ll definitely be getting 2 and 3 when I can!
My first ROM comic was an X-Men classics reprint of uncanny 187. I definitely bought the first Omni when it came out and really dug it.
My first ROM comic was the omnibus, I do remember the wraiths from the UXM run
My first ROM com(ic) was issue #1 straight off the newsstand, baby!😊
My first Rom off the spinner rack was #58 featuring his team up with Ant Man!
My first ROM comic was #46! My first comic was G.I. Joe #13, and as 13 was very much part two of a two-parter, I was hopelessly lost, but loved it regardless.
ROM #1 ... from the spinner, baby!
ROM #24 was my first ROM comic. The new teen titans # 1 was my first ever comic.
Hello Omar, my first comic of Rom was at the beginning, issue #1.
first Rom comic was Rom Annual 2! Great book
Rom number 1 was my first issue of Rom. had all the floppys growing up
My first ROM comic was the first issue! 💙👍🏼
My first ROM comic was his meeting with Hulk. 😀
My first comic was TMNT Adventures 44 with Armaggon on the cover.
My first ROM comic was issue 17, the one with the X-Men guest starring.
First comics for me was Fantastic Four #250. A friend lent it to me on the school bus. Guest starring Spider-Man, Captain America, and the fake X-Men. I fell in love with comics, Marvel, Spider-Man and John Byrne art in my first read.
First ROM comic was the facsimile.
My first Rom comic was 54 with an amazing cover by bill sienkiewicz.
ROM #1 Arrival - first omnibus (Romnibus :D) - first 2 pages as I am still in the 60s
Sienkiewicz cover for sure
Hello, im from Argentina.
My first comic was in the 90s, it was an argentinian reprint of Detective Comics 611 . It was the second part of a two parts story so I couldnt understand much of the plot, but I like it enought to star reading and collecting comics (Ive been doing it for 30 years so far)
I picked up Rom #3 when I was a kiddo and loved it (ands micronauts) ever since!
My first ROM comic was Volume 1 omnibus!
Also that spread page in this volume looks amazing! Such great art
So awesome. I love Rom. I’m so happy that Marvel is doing these books now. Bill Mantlo was one of the all-time greats.
My first comic was believe it to not was The Life of Pope John Paul II #1 in 1982. I’m Catholic and my mom was very Catholic. She actually bought it and gave it to me and my brother. I was 5.
My first comic book was Swamp Thing #1 first series way back in 1972
My first comic was a trade paperback from The New Warriors! It had the issues with the Punisher, which to this day I love and read again and again!
My first issue of ROM was #45, with the Soviet Super Soldiers.
My first comic book was a brazilian reprint of Giant Size X-Men 1. Hooked for life of course. 😂
My first Rom comic was the Vol 1 Omni, cover by the man, George Perez.
Rom #1 was my first Rom comic. I bought it in the 25 cent back issue bin of the first LCS in my hometown and went on to get the whole run. Sold them all when I was quitting comics when I was 19 and ended up buying the whole run again a few years ago on Ebay thinking we'd never seen reprints of it. Of course I picked up the Romnibus vol 1 so I'm now buying this series for a third time!
My friend had a copy of issue 1, that I thumbed through. I recently picked up the first volume and am really enjoying, so will be in for this one and the third volume.
Given how much Rom is so integrated into the Marvel Universe, they really need to look to permanently acquire the rights to the character. It's not as if Hasbro have done much with it and they could still produce figures under the Legends line. Its he same with Micronauts, but I doubt Hasbro would let their grubby it's off them, either.
Never read any ROM but I do remember the toys from when I was a little kid. By the time I started buying comics (late 1986) I believe the series was cancelled. The first Marvel comic I bought was West Coast Avengers #15.
First comic - All-Star Squadron #19. I loved Superfriends as a kid, but this issue confused me because it featured the golden age versions of the DC characters.
The only issues with Rom I've read are Uncanny X-Men 185 and I guess the cameo in Incredible Hulk at Rick Jones' wedding. I love Akin and Garvey's inks, though, and that's why I hope I win!
I first read a ROM comic in the Vol. 1 omnibus BUT the first time I saw him IN a comic was Incredible Hulk #418, the Rick Jones wedding. It's a 2 or 3 panel scene, but I at least knew who ROM was so I wasn't too confused when he shows up (looking quite different...)
And the first time I remember ROM ever is the cover of Avengers 221 on the 'who will be in the new lineup' cover. No idea who he was at the time!
My first comic was X-Men #1 Jim Lee and Chris Claremont
It's funny what sticks in the memory but the first issue of ROM I ever picked up was ROM #5 along with She-Hulk #1, ROM #5 seemed like an odd book at the time but then I had no context for what had happened in the book previously, I actually stuck with both She-Hulk and ROM but comic distribution was unreliable in Australia to say the least, it could be months between issues or on occasion 2 or 3 issues of a comic might appear over the course of a few weeks so it was hard to keep up with some titles.|
I have specific memories of picking up ROM #21 while staying with my Aunt and Uncle and getting ROM #31 while visiting some different cousins.
Like I said it's funny what sticks in the memory.
My first comic book was an issue of Justice League or Superman from the 80s I don't remember which on.
I have never read Rom but it looks cool anyway my first comic was the deadpool minibus.
No first Rom comic (I have volume one but haven't read it yet), but my first comic ever was Superman 77.
My first comic was Martian Manhunter 2015 #1. Pretty cool to learn more about the character
Never red ROM. I hope I win the contest so I can Start!
My first comic was the first Asterix volume by Uderzo.
Great overview as always Omar! My first comic ever was a Donald Duck by Don Rosa, so of course years later I immediately got the deluxe edition of the Life and Times of Scrooge McDuck, which is a wonderful book.
My first ROM comic was ROMnibus #1
My first comic read was spawn #1
First Rom comic was the vol 1 Omnibus 😅 never read Rom before
First Rom I have read were those stories with the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Also the only Rom I have ever read. (so far?)
I’ve never read any of this one, that art shift looks wild! It breaks my heart a bit - I’m going thru a breakup after 3 years with my Partner, and need to immediately close my wallet to any purchases until I find a roommate. I’m optimistic it’ll all work out for the best, tho! My first comics were issues 10, 11 & 12 of the original Secret Wars - rolled up in my stocking for Christmas. Brilliant Mike Zeck art, and that Dr Doom cover to issue 10… good lord, it changed my life forever. Haha As for an as-of-yet UNPUBLISHED classic Omnibus I’d love Marvel to collect…? Alpha Flight vol 2 by Bill Mantlo seems the appropriate one to pick here.
My first comic was probably the big treasury sized adaptation of Empire Strikes Back! It was bought for me, and I stored it under my mattress lol
The first comic I ever bought for myself was Flash #50, which I bought as a result of the Flash TV show in the 90s. It was the first comic I bought as a regular reader and haven't stopped since lol. The cover blurb was intriguing: The Flash is Dead?! . . . Long Live the Flash!! Really looking forward to that Flash by WML Omnibus.
I think ROMnibus Vol 1 was my first ROM comic! I can't think of any I've had or read before that.
Rom # 34 was the first issue of Rom I read and became a big fan of the comic book. I am so happy Marvel is releasing these in omnibus format! Thank you for the chance on the giveaway!
First comic: Ninja Turtles Adventures #9. First ROM: Omnibus #1
My first Rom comic was an italian edition called “all american comics”
First ROM comic was Omni vol 1.
I blind bought the first volume, I blame Larry.
My first comic as a kid was an issue of Spider-Man in Hungarian. It was awesome but I couldn't understand a thing 😂
By ROM!!!!
My first Rom comic was the X-Men crossover but my favorite stories are in v2 of the omnibus. Akin & Garvey's inks on Sal Buscema were amazing.
First ROM was with issue #1 and always loved this series, grabbed me from the start. I am currently reading volume 1 for the 2nd time! So happy these are coming out.
My first ROM comic is on its way to my home now!
My first rom comic is rom omnibus vol 1.
