I was going to skip this, but you’re right that B&W Art is awesome. Going to have to shoehorn it in somehow if I can still find it somewhere. Everything goes OOP so fast these days it’s ridiculous.

@mark Zimmer yeah it makes it hard to collect and its tough financially. Now you have 4 to 6 months to buy an omni before its out of print. So lame

@Firstname Lastname I second a midnight sons Omni! Ghost Rider should hopefully be in the next couple years as the MMW vol 2 is out this year (albeit I'm picking up the MMWs).

Firstname Lastname the Aaron Omni I believe has the issues when Danny ketch pops up...I think that’s why it’s expensive, it was one of my favorite runs came out when the movie came out, road to damnation kicks off the run

@NMC / Tony DeZuniga born in 1932, passed away, May 11, 2012. He was one of the best comics artist that came over from the Philippines 🇵🇭. Both a great Penciler and Inker. He was best known for his work on DC Comics.
Factoid: He co-created Jonah Hex and Black Orchid. Tony DeZuniga began his comics career at the age of 16, in 1948, as a letterer for Liwayway, a Filipino weekly magazine whose contributors included comic book artists Alfredo Alcala and Nestor Redondo, who would later become his mentors.
That’s were this great friendship was struck, that lasted the next 60 plus years. DeZuniga received a BS degree from the University of Santo Tomas, in the Philippines. He came over to New York for his first visit in 1962. Then returned in the late 1960’s, where he met Joe Orlando at DC Comics, where he subsequently met Dick Giordano.
His first DC assignment was Inking Ric Estrada’s Pencils on a short story inside Girl's Love Stories #153. His American comic book debut as a Penciler came in a Horror story which he both Penciled and Inked, in House of Mystery #188 (Sept./Oct. 1970).
He was and continues to be missed. Along with Ernie Chan, who passed in 2012, and Nestor Redondo, whom passed, back in 1995.
Finally, these life long friends are gathered together at their individual Art Tables, up in their City of Light.
May these three great Masters, of Comics Art...Rest..In..Peace.

I purchased this a couple months back cuz I love horror. It’s nice to see Blade in this comic. He’s really the main feature of this omnibus.
Pre-ordered (already got book 1), can't wait to get my hands on this amazing tome. An interesting selection of horror characters though I hope there are a few more characters left over for a volume 3 perhaps next year (Frankenstein comes to mind but some of the backup features from many of the horror mags and of course, a lot of 50s material would be great to see in omnibus format - a Marvel 50s Horror omni) - thanks for the great preview as ever. Love the B&W art but I loved buying the magazines at the time as well and collecting them ever since
Nice to see more and more of the Curtis Magazines being collected in Omni's but Seems to just be a random mix. They could do an entire book with vampire tales, haunt of horror, dracula lives etc.

I didn't get volume 1 last year but now that I see them together, they sure do look nice! I'm extremely tempted though I really dislike hodgepodge omni's. Update: I just bought it! Now to choose what cover to pre-order for vol 2...
These good old horror stories absolutely look better in black and white. Nothing against colour, though. B&W just fits better here.
The tribe was dezuniga and sonny Trinidad (Filipino artist) working together. Another group of inkers were the " crusty bunkers" which were usually called upon to ink a story which was behind deadline
Bromar honestly I wish we could just get a War is Hell/Sgt fury and his howling commandos omnibus.

Pre ordered this because I have vol 1 but also because some of it is Romita Snr who I just love as you maybe aware. He doesn't get mentioned much to be honest but hope to see more of him in upcoming other marvel books. Been collecting him for years but even today I learn something new with every new release his work is in. Great as always omar :-)
omar you have to stop this. when david sends you omnibuses put them under the bed or bury them in the back yard please just dont put them on the youtubz. you are a menace to my pocketbook! im glad you read out the names of the folks that put these together they deserve the credit
Omar, at the end of the video you said that the book could be purchased from the sponsor, but then forgot to put the CGN clip in so at no point in the video does it say who your sponsor is.

Instead of this 'mess' collection, why not make a Omni only with the B&W magazines? I mean why not a 'Savage Tales Omnibus'? a Dracula Lives! Omnibus? A Monster Unleashed Omnibus, and so on... Is that so hard to do?
I think based on sales of the TOD omnibus, they didn't want to risk a fourth volume so they did a sampler volume based on characters.

I thought the dreaded "male gaze" was a no-no to marvel publishing forever, they probably saw what happened to DC and just realized they need to make money before disney starts noticing them not making any lol
Are you talking about in the collections? Because Conan and all the magazine collected editions have nudity and adult content.

Oh there is enough left over. I think Frankenstein's Monster will play a big role if they do a third Horror omnibus.

I used to read these when I was younger. We'd go to the comic store buy a whole pile of random comics and go to the cottage for the weekend. Mostly horror, which led into some hero stuff (e.g. Moon Knight, etc.). Looking forward to re-reading a bunch of this stuff. - Also, I TOTALLY agree with the Black and White take. I love me some good black and white art. It's a "purer" form of the art in some ways.
I'm with you on that black and white art. I remember being a kid and my friend's older brother giving us some Creepy, Heavy Metal and Vault of Horror mags and I never ever looked back. the VoH must have been reprints as they were in black and white.

Wow! This omni looks amazing. I've already ordered the Romita cover version, which I think looks better suited for this book's material, but I love the fact that Marvel gives you both cover images inside the dust jacket. Can't wait for this one and thanks for the early view - first as always!
