    Thank you both for attacking my legs so thoroughly! I wasn't able to tune in last night but I have been listening this morning. The feeling that I'm getting is that I've been brainwashed into the idea that I'm supposed to be a good little worker and spender into my late 60s and then go into a sedate retirement. And you're here to de-program me. Very much looking forward to the rest of the course.

      What an amazing response. We LOVED seeing this. Thank you for being the voice of so many people who have been trained to believe the same and for standing up and allowing us to give alternate opinions. You are brave and amazing. I am not sure how we can say thank you. How can we support you? What can we do for you? What are your new beliefs going to be? We want to look after you as you were so brave!

    I think sometimes it DOES take money to make money (an outlay for a business for example) - BUT there are plenty of ways to MAKE money and EXTRA Money - without any outlay at all! :)

    • @rebeldonegans

      I think it "can" take money to make money if you want it to. I think we are battling the generalised belief that is DOES take money to make money. I have run Rebel Business School for 15 years giving course on how to build a business without any money. it is actuallty better to start without money as it gives better survival chances. People just believe that you have to have money to start and that is what we are battling

    Re: the question regarding exploitation of others to gain wealth, and Alan's example of investing in Apple through an Index Tracker and benefitting when people buy iPhones: what about workers mining the mineral components fundamental to an Iphone in dangerous conditions and poorly paid; how do we square that? Possibly for later weeks but is there any worry that the next government will try to punish people thinking/working to be FI through tax on pensions

    • @rebeldonegans
      @rebeldonegans  18 дней назад

      This is a fascinating subject and full of lot of predictions. Last gov removed the lifetime allowance on pensions, then labour said the next day we will reinstate it and gave a lot of uncertainty. They have come out now and said they won't which is good news for certainty around pensions. It will be fascinating to see what happens. We will do some research. Thank you for the thought provoking comment

      There is a list of every company you’re invested in depending on which index fund you choose. So you can see all of the companies that you have invested in. Depending on that fund it may be between 2000 to 7000 companies. We haven’t checked all of them to know we are definitely not invested in this sort of stuff. But you can absolutely see what you invest in and do research into the different companies.
      The smaller companies make such a tiny percentage of the investments that they are almost negligible

    For Wills question...I spend nearly every cent that comes my way. And I spend it pretty darn quickly. A small amount of it is spent on living. And the rest I spend on buying my 2 index funds. Does it benefit society?. I dunno. But it benefits me and then I'm not a drag on society.
