I hear you. I would like that too, but I had a lot of heartache back then as my best friend was murdered. That was a living nightmare. I still deal with it today. Didn't realize, but back then they didn't have a name for it. I have PTSD because of it. I don't know all the triggers. It's horrifying when it happens, as I can't make it stop. Nice there are more people with the same feelings about what's happening around us in America. but you know, I think it's happening world wide. Now that's scary.
What is refreshing about this film watching it today, is no annoying teenage/pretty young thing characters. All the main characters are mature adults. You rarely get that in similar genre films today.
I was 22 and had a six month baby when I watched this. My husband was away the next night so I put an ironing board up against my bedroom door in case anything came in. I’m cured now. I was also scared of things that ran on four legs and walked on two and had claws and big teeth 🥺

If I saw footprints like that, I would get out of there as fast as I could and pray I wouldn't run into that thing. People in horror movies always do dumb things.
ya but she had to follow em for the suspense. lol. and sadly some ppl are that dumb and would do such things in life... great old bigfoot horror tho. i liked.
its like in those movies when the victim is running away from the bad guy, and they stop every so often and turn to look behind them and just wait until the bad guy catches up to them before they start running away again. like they're actually just playing tag.

So what do they hv the woman do 2 get the movie rolling? She screams as loud as she can so the killer or monster knows where she is. Now who in their right mind would do that? No one would. 2) the woman is running FM someone/thing. She is abt 100 yards ahead. Then she falls, looks back 2C the thing gaining ground. So what does she do? Does she get up an run? No, she lays there and just screams until the hero comes. Then the hero gets her up on her feet and they run FM it. No woman is going 2 act like that in those situations. But it kept the audience on the edge of their seats. Again, it was the 30s and 40s.

I recall this, an olympic skier and his news reporter wife go head to head with a ferocious abominable snow monster. Too bad we couldn't have seen more of the monster in front of the camera.
Given that it’s a guy in a suit it’s probably better this way. Seeing pieces and not the whole thing makes it scarier. As the story is a loose re run of Jaws that may be what the director thought as well.
Back then they didn`t show the monsters that much, Legend of Boggy Creek same, The Night Stalker, much of the made for TV were like that and some films. Back then we didn`t need that much to send us screaming in the dark....lol
This movie 🍿 is a classic, and I was luckily born during the time this movie came out. Those times when I was little kid were great and still are. They don't make movies 🍿 like is today.

Rest in peace Yvette ❤
She was in the movie the time machine
The actor ( ROBERT LOGAN ), who I also remember as a kid is a great legendary actor. I remember when I a little kid , Mr . Logan star in one of his great as a father in the movie of the ( ADVENTURES OF THE WILDERNESS FAMILY ). Great movie 🎥 with the actor star in excellent .
Anyone here from Brazil watching this movie too??? Like it
I recall this, an olympic skier and his news reporter wife go head to head with a ferocious abominable snow monster. Too bad we couldn't have seen more of the monster in front of the camera.
Exactly!
51 and again, love this movie, seen it so many times. Not bothered with remakes.
The opening skiing scene is gorgeous!
Are they just incapable of makeing good shows like this anymore .
I enjoyed this movie,, I watched this one,, an then the remake after it, this one is Bitter,,, 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Umm, wow... the quality here is excellent, and I know this movie.
I been hiking and fishing since 1953 and know there are things out there which have not been posted in National Geographic.
😳
This film and legend of boggy creek. My two favorites from that time period
RIP
Robert Logan
Clint Walker
Yvette Mimieux
I remember watching this around 1980 and even though the production isn't up to today's standards it was good enough to scare a bunch of 10 year olds back then.
This is sooooo good!
Thanks.
Watched this a long time back on TV (before the whole streaming craze.)
Its a good film, especially the scene where it moves closer to the window and the reaction from the young girl changes to pure fear, even now, it gives me shivers.
