Most door knobs function the same way and install more or less the same. Here’s the basics for removing and installing a new door knob.

The one in this video is from Home Depot but you can usually buy them at any hardware store.
All you need is a phillips screw driver.

Thanks for showing how to take the door jam mount off. Most don’t even talk about it and just screw it into the door. Problem was I didn’t have enough room between the door frame and door to include the extra metal

I have this exact door knob, and this morning, as I went to pull the door open, the entire thing came out in my hand. I then spent the next 45 minutes trying to get the screws lined up with the holes because they kept trying to fall through, and would not line up without a lot of frustration. You lined them up so easily (as has every other person installing door knobs on youtube). What kind of sorcery was that?! Am I just totally inept?

how to get that clip off the end of the latch part..for the life of me I could not figure that out...this helped a lot. Sometimes it's the simplest things that help the most

Bought the one with a knobs that is slightly more square than this one and it all when well till i relize the knob completely covers the hole
I need some help with my doorknob. The side that is inside the room has the whole doorknob removed, and the outside side of the doorknob has the rod that is part of the locking mechanism. How would I fix that?

Why does my bedroom door push open without turning knob?
Getting those darn screws out seem the be the hardest part.
For us getting them is. We've been working an hour on it and we still don't have it. Came to you tube looking for tips. I don't want to spend my whole day trying to line screws up
Wth? I have the same door knob and when I take the screws out, the side that allows you to lock the door comes out, but the side with the keyhole is like stuck to everything on the inside, help?

Yes! What kind of strange door knob is that? Screws ALWAYS go on the INSIDE.
INSIDE the closet, INSIDE the bedroom, INSIDE the bathroom. Be sure to put your door knobs on the right way people! The old door knob that was on the door at the beginning of the video was put on correctly.

Good video except, the screws go in the INSIDE part of the knob, where the push button is, not the outside where they key opening is. When a door is locked, all a “thief” has to do is unscrew the assembly and enter.
