International Elite Military Training, Strongmen Champions collab, BJJ Champion spar, Parkour route tries, ad infinitum. Magnus :"..and don't do all of the..stoopid stuff.."
the way magnus described emil as inspirational for taking care of himself as a taller and slightly heavier climber actually really hit home, such a nice message!!! amazing video guys
Me as one of Japanese climbers, I here clarify that there is a grade scale gap even in between B-Pump Tokyo Akihabara and B-Pump Ogikubo. Ogikubo is harder and known as one of the world hardest walls, but not Akihabara one. The Akihabara site is built and set their boulders specifically more for welcoming beginners and intermediate climbers, at least as I heard from people and comunity here in Japan.
Can confirm, Akihabara is still tough but Ogikubo (where Emil went with pewdiepie) is truly hard as hell. It’s basically 1-2 grades harder than even Akihabara.
I 100% agree with Magnus on you being a good role model. Health > Weight for sure when it comes to performance. I have gained about 10 pounds in the last year of climbing, but I have never felt so strong! Just quoted you this very week to a younger climber that thinks it's all about being as light as possible.
It’s so fun to see u and Magnus work that last problem out, feel like most of the time Magnus gives up on the hard climbs to not “waste time”, but figuring out the climb is one of the best parts!
I dunno, I love magnus to death, but I feel these last few years like age is starting to touch him a little. He's still world class, but I feel for him, as he's comparing himself to his past, and I know the feeling myself.
@@xSwitchB1ade I suspect that not climbing/training so much over the past year & gaining a little weight, has had more of an effect, tbh. He's only two years older than Jakob but yes, at 35 he's in 'use it or lose it' territory
Um, I firmly believe he still makes boulders that are just absurdly hard look very easy, maybe even deceptively so. The beauty of climbing is you can do it at any age and for a long time at a high level. I doubt he will ever climb a v17 boulder or another 9b route, but that is okay. In any 'normal' gym he will likely do every boulder in the first three and every route in the first go.
That was really great. Felt like that was magnus last video there and the stress was leaving him, and he got more energy. Thanks for the effort Magnus and Emil.
also props to magnus for not obsessively climbing 5 days a week anymore and still pointing out he "had a unusally strong/lucky day" Jantelov is still strong amongst the most sucessful & chad norwegians out there
Always like to see Magnus climbing and really enjoy watching Magnus and Emil working problems together, good energy. +1 vote for more collaborations please!
seeing you guys projecting and pushing through is so awesome and insightful. its so nice to see how you think through moves, mistakes and different options! thank you! :)
He's just trying to get his thoughts straight, after getting a little gassed from a pretty intense routine; totally normal. Not to mention trying to stay in "character" while being filmed.
As someone who started climbing in Japan and almost exclusively climbs here, it’s so nice to see well-known RUclipsrs climbing here to get a proper scale for how hard the grades are here. Dark blues are my limit in Ogikubo so it’s nice to see those are likely more like v6-v7 than v2 as the grades suggest.
Yesterday in London with Toby, now today in Japan with Emil, what a time to be alive. Definetly better chemistry here tho, the only one who's missing now is PDP
Definitely collab again!!! You two have such a natural rapport with each other, and I love watching you work the moves out on that last boulder together.
Toby Roberts had a good video at B-Pump recently , it took him several DAYS to unlock some of the harder grades here. Unreal climbing level on display!
Loved watching you guys actually having to project a problem! B-Pump seems like an incredible gym! Hope to see more projecting with you and magnus in the future maybe even outside?
Great video! so fun. Like you said Emil, it's crazy how strong Magnus is even when he isn't really training hard. Thanks for showing us the boulders in japan!
Leo Urban, ST0RROR, Eddie Hall, PewDiePie, Tomoa Narasaki, Cim, Eric, Toby, Emil. Dang..you have been very busy, Magnus! 😂 Thank you for another great vid, Emil!
When these boys get too old for super hard climbing - I'd love them to put their collective experience together to build the GREATEST bouldering wall the world has EVER seen. Maybe put it on the border between their homelands if there is a location suitable? :D
It's a pleasure to watch you guys cruising some and team-projecting other boulders as the 'Nordic duo' ;) Aslso njoyed your chats in between. Grading seems so weird, though.
I'd love to see a classic Nikken setting for the homies vid, but hes setting for Emil and Magnus, and I personally love seeing the process of setting the boulder as well. I think it would be awesome
15:36 you can see the years of cumulative comp climbing experience Magnus has coming together to instantly see the intended beta for what's otherwise quite a complex sequence
I liked the Nordic team work on the last one very much. That is where it gets interesting to me, seeing 2 pros working out and discussing boulders at their limit is so great. Would love to see more of that❤
That was a great video, tone and content were fun, and lots of time spent just listening to the two of you chat about a climb. My Nordic climbing bros!
You guys should definitely collaborate more, both your channels are my favorites. Your next video, Magnus dresses up as an old woman and you are her old husband, married for years, you are at the gym with some 18 year old spraylord gym rat grandson. I'm not quite sure how you make a video out of that but it would be pretty funny.
Even though I would consider these two to be similar in strength, it’s crazy to see the difference that Magnus’s competitive background gives in problem solving. I love watching both of you climb 👍
Love to see how high level climbers work together to figure out a beta. It's such an underrated part of the sport that is so interesting to watch! Also gotta love the Scandinavian brotherhood from a fellow Norwegian!
Everywhere I look is Magnus. I have to say Emil and Magnus make an amazing video together!! Much like him and pewdiepie, they hit it off and work so natural and well together!
Great video as always! I started climbing about three months ago after seeing one of your videos and became addicted nearly instantly. Keep up the good work. :D
Loved the video, especially when you have a good Swedish climber and a good Norwegian climber to climb together. From my experience from my past couple years of going to Tokyo, B-PUMP Ogikubo is the one where the pros go to train and where the harder climbs are, Akihabara has hard climbs compared to America but B-PUMP Ogikubo is a lot harder.
I echo what Magnus saids with being a good role model for heavier climbers. I'm 170, was considering trying to lose some weight to make climbing easier. But you've done an excellent demonstrating that you can still be a great climber at heavier weights, it's all about how you approach it and utilize your strengths
Watching this after the video with Magnus and Tomoa when Tomoa said Magnus could still compete makes me really want to see him compete. Actually a global climbing youtuber comp would be dopeeeeee af!

Awesome session!
Magnus time traveling around the world on the tube rn
I'm telling you the Rungne chalk bag trick works
Hahaha😂
lol I’m assuming this was filmed around the same time magnus and Emil filmed with PewDiePie
Ahahaha you right
Just saw a video of him in England now he is back in Japan truly amazing :D
Magnus is just spawning everywhere at this point
I think you can play _"Six Degrees of Mangus Midtbø"_ with most of this platform and only ever need 2-3 degrees, honestly
a wild magnus appears! :O "magnus! magnus magnus!"
Haha i swear this mans emails are just full of collabs
It is the easiest way to do content
they're both currently in Japan to make content
Pewdiepie, Emil, and Magnus doing more for Swedish & Norwegian relations than the Nordic Council
the way magnus described emil as inspirational for taking care of himself as a taller and slightly heavier climber actually really hit home, such a nice message!!! amazing video guys
That's a really great point!
emil is literally who i think of when people mention that i dont match the climber's physique
Fr we gotta stop with the climber body dysmorphia and become big gigachads on the walls
@@hejhejaske that's what I'm tryna be
100% he's a role model for me
Magnus : ''double gangbangged this B .... im not high i swear im not like this normally'' hahahah

I just finished Toby's video 😂 Magnus is a collab king.
Exactly!!! And the content is amazing
Toby Roberts
rising tide lifts all boats
Same bro lol
toby from storror?
We're in the golden era of climbing collab videos. Hell maybe even for climbing vids in general.
WE NEED MORE MAGNUS X EMIL COLLABS
Yess
100%
Yeah, they always have a great energy!
What he said!
Imagine Emil, Magnus, Toby Segar and Pete Whittaker in the same video :O Would pay.
I love Magnus saying "Nice" while Emil is on a V0, lol
xd
v10 in my gym

So with magchalk you can
1. Climb better because it’s the best chalk.
2. Spawn Magnus Midtbø.
3. Get high.

That was my impression too after I climbed at both. Aki is still one of the hardest gyms I’ve ever been to but Ogi is a bit tougher
東京以外にお勧めのいいジムはあります?旅に日本へ行くつもりで、東京も関西の地方も見に行こうと思うんです。
Which one were they at ?
@@lgerard2623 They were at the Akihabara one
Can confirm, Akihabara is still tough but Ogikubo (where Emil went with pewdiepie) is truly hard as hell. It’s basically 1-2 grades harder than even Akihabara.
love seeing the Magnus Emil combo. Feels like Magnus is much more comfortable with Emil than with most other people
i think because they're both scandinavian 🤣 even when both of them were with pewdiepie they already seemed super comfortable
in addition they share a very similar life, pro climber into youtuber so they can relate to each other a lot more
Looked like he was genuinely having fun
Getting to the point in life where you can sponsor your friends must feel pretty good!

Magnus is too modest about his climbing ability these days

This is my local gym! Ogikubo gets more coverage than the akiba gym so thanks for covering it!
There's also three other Pumps that never see any Videos at all.
Now make a video with Pews and Magnus together. The trio we never knew we needed
they already did
First Magnus & PewDiePie, then Emil & PewDiePie and now Emil & Magnus collab 👌
this has been an epic week of climbing vids!!!
law of transitivity 😉
That was really great. Felt like that was magnus last video there and the stress was leaving him, and he got more energy. Thanks for the effort Magnus and Emil.
I know Magnus is retired but it would be such a good video for him to try a National level competition and document it!
That would be sick!

This projecting of the last Bouldern was reeeally cool. Seeing how you give each other tips under und slowing progressing is super interesting.
I agree with Magnus saying you are a good role model. I get such positive vibes from you and your videos, and I imagine it inspires lots of people.
Big respect to Magnus saying you are a good role model for bigger climbers. Very true!

Definitely wanna see the collab again!! This duo makes pure bouldering session so enjoyable to watch!!
Toby Roberts' vlog on his time in Japanese gyms is fab, highly recommended. Same vibe as this one, but from someone who qualified for the Olympics.
Magnus acting high at the end is hilarious
