Sometimes I can tell the students can be pushed and like the stricter class to apply lots of corrections, sometimes they've had a hard day or it's the end of the week and they need simpler, fun combos, and sometimes I just have total brain fog and have weird combinations. @idk yet oh absolutely agreed!

    • @MissGracieLove
      @MissGracieLove 3 года назад +12

@idk yet they wouldn't neccesarily say we were fat, or needed to lose weight, but they would tell us not to eat certain foods etc, not to let our bellies stick out, and if they saw us / heard about us eating say.. Popcorn, dessert, or candy, (before class / while on break) they'd comment or give us those judging eyes. Before holiday season, they'd talk to us about not eating too much turkey, bread, or dessert.
I remember getting praised more when I lost weight, (praised on my tequnique, and had recieved more attention in general the more I lost) but weight like,, the number we were, was never discussed. We weren't weighed, or told.we were "fat"
But the skinner ones, were definetly praised more.
I suffered from eating disorders (Anorexia, leading into Bulimia) from age 15-21. So I suffered a lot due to it. Ballet was very traumatic for me, and even friends I've spoken to recently agree it was traumatising.

One of the teachers at my studio is a strict teacher but will also talk half the time about something random once she gets started on something. I don't hate her but shes definitely my least favorite teacher. She will just talk about something random for 20 minutes and we will all just be standing there waiting for her to continue class. She also scares me because I feel like the slightest mistake will make her yell at me and single me out. I know that kind of tough love can make you a more focused student, but a lot of the time I just feel like she hates me since she will give me only negative feedback.

Keep strong. Dont forget that despite the struggles in this world, God is full of justice, mercy and love.
Justice said we broke His perfect law - causing the world's previous perfection to be destroyed - and therefore we deserve Hell (like a punishment in any legal system but this is eternal as His perfect law is eternal too). Don't think you fit in that category? Ever done one of these?: lying, stealing - regardless of how small the object EVER, hating others - which is murder in God's perfect law, lusting (plus God sees our entire thought life). Justice says "the soul that sins shall die" - if we break one in thought/word/deed it's as if we're guilty of all of them. Quite simply, living by the law (which is doing everything perfectly) is impossible for sinful humans
. The law shows us that 1. We will die in Hell if we fail to follow it and 2. We cannot save ourselves BUT, 3. God's perfect, immovable law points us to Christ, who followed and fulfilled the law in thought, word and deed perfectly in our place. He did what we couldn't and did it on our behalf. He was then sentenced to death on a cross, and took our personal punishment for our sin, paying our penalty (like paying our fine) completely FOR us, and has given us freedom.
If we turn from the sins we have committed and repent (pursue the opposite direction of love through Christ) He will, overtime, recreate us back into that previously perfect image through The Holy Spirit which Jesus sends to all who accept Him as their personal Lord and Savior of their life. He will help us through the struggle, the stress, and anything we experience in the world. It's about letting Christ in to guide and teach you and obeying Him through His power (not ourselves, we need Him to help us as it's impossible without depending on His power and instruction).
He is our substitute in His life, death and resurrection. He essentially rewrote history in our place so that, if you believe in Him, it will be as if you had never sinned if you accept Christ's death as our own in our place.
He is in Heaven right now preparing a place for us so that He can take His faithful, believing children home with Him when He returns. He will ressurrect us from death when He returns, giving mercy to those who accept His love, instruction and teachings in their life, and give justice to those who refuse it.
He doesn't want ANY of us to go to Hell and die for continuing in evil and rejecting His way to life, thats why He died FOR us. Hes giving EVERYONE a chance, He wants everyone to take the free gift of salvation from Hell. He wants us to be His and begin to follow His life of love and service through His power and abiding (staying) with Him. So long as we keep our hearts near to Christ through His strength, strive to follow His will of perfect love revealed in the Bible, and let Him lead in the midst of (very certain) pitfalls and struggles, we will, in time, win the ultimate victory over sin, pain and DEATH through Christ. Even if you are willing to be made willing, pray for Jesus to come in and He will do what we can't. Give us The Holy Spirit who will guide us in the right way.
Christ says in John 16:33: I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]
      - (AMPLIFIED version)
NOTE: You are NEVER too sinful or messed up that God cannot turn your life around through Jesus. EVER. Regardless of what you've done or what you're going through you CAN make it through Jesus.
If you have any questions let me know xx
      x

    You forgot the Russian teacher.
It's soo fun. Hehe. Just living the best life when ur teacher is Russian speaks Russian and trained in the Bolshoi and is the rhythmic gymnastics coach for the U.S. Olympics. Lots of yelling in Russian especially in privates 😅. If it isn't perfect she will keep you.after class and make you keep doing it till you do it to her unrealistic expectations. i don't know if it was more scary not knowing Russian besides the basics and being yelled at in full Russian and not understanding what she did saying. Or understanding Russian and being yelled at and understanding what she is saying.
All the very lucky people who get stuck with a Russian teacher we just got the luck of the draw. All the yelling and being so particular does pay off tho. SO

My first teacher was Russian too. There were many Russians that lived nearby as well. There were sibling groups that used to get into little squabbles and they would be shouting in Russian and she would be shouting in Russian. It was quite entertaining. She was an amazing teacher though! I remember hearing the word “porputchka!” before getting my hind parts smacked with a tap cane. 😁

I have two strict Russian ballet teachers who trained at Perm and danced professionally in Russia. My classes are insane and the slightest mistake will get you yelled at in Russian. I had a two hour private that turned into four hours one time because you aren’t allowed to leave unless any mistake you made during the entire class is fixed. One of my classes was taught entirely in Russian because my instructor was frustrated that people didn’t get the combination perfect the first time. It’s extremely strict, but I believe that it produces great dancers in the long run.

    I’ve had ALOT of teachers
No. 1 and 2 - don’t remember them, I did have them- I remember 2 had a piano dude probably named Frances
No. 3 and 4 - these two were the same studio, both awesome. Mr M and Ms Y- Mr M was a dad, he was amazing to everyone, made jokes, encouraged talking, only gave joking punishments, also kinds felt like a drill sergeant or whatever for kids - Ms Y was amazing too, she was Ukrainian, gave me private lessons and was super sweet about it, 10/10 I loved both of them
No. 5 - This girl is nice too, she’s laid back so I don’t get as much but she’s sweet and never is like “this person in particular is really bad at everything” love her too, especially after my new ones
No. 6 - Awesome again! This dude is young, he teaches contemporary intensives not ballet but he’s amazing- not particularly nice but he’s funny and likes to joke around, has a lot of sass which is why I think he’s Gen Z type of young- he flatters our class saying that we’re the only ones he likes, overall, I’ll miss him
No. 7 - this is again, a contemporary intensive teacher, she’s chill, feels a bit like a yoga teacher and/or a therapist. I don’t have much to say about her and I’ll sorta miss her too
No. 8 - NOW TIME FOR THIS MF- let me start, she literally bullies her entire class, she constantly calls one of the sweetest girls I know untalented and short, and literally- she calls the other sweetest girls I know untalented and behind for her age, compares us, is a jerk, she has the most annoying voice ever and I’m so glad I’m never gonna see her again because she’s also a intensive teacher, I want 5, 3, or 4 back and I want them to plot her murder with me

She's just an OTT teacher when she demonstrates 😁
