According to a friend of Chester's, who played together with him in his first band (Grey Daze), when Chester first started performing he would study the way Scott moved on stage and try to copy him!
Chester did Stone Temple Pilots proud, he was probably better than anyone else other than Scott in his prime. Personally I did not know Chester had this in his tool set totally different than anything in Linkin Park sound. Chester loved STP, it was one of his major inspiration, don't hate he totally did his best for STP, and fans and I think he did a hell of a job. Appreciate the sincere effort.
Jeff gutt is pretty dang good. Personally I don't think Chester has the right voice for the cover. But he was an awesome singer his rolling in the deep cover is on another level.

STP is STP and Chester will be Chester. Guys would you please stop putting the hate on Chester? I mean you guys know, being such fans of STP like you guys are how CB actually got into the band. He didn't TAKE HIS OWN LIFE, someone decided to help in the matter. Chris cornell and then chester in the same manner. They spoke out too loudly against human AND/OR sex trafficking, so they were shut up.

Chester sounds damn good, of course no one will ever sound as good as Scott being that he wrote the damn song and he sung them in his own style which was most appropriate for his vocal range. Chester is trying to replicate that and does a great job. When an entire generation grew up hearing Scott's voice on these tracks, then it's what you expect to hear.
I wish more people understood that! This song was written for Scott, for his vocal range and style. Of course Chester wouldn't do it as well as him! Just like Scott doing Linkin Park wouldn't have sounded perfect, with the songs having been crafted for Chester. They were different people, with different voices, and we need to embrace these differences rather than putting them against each other constantly.

I’m very lucky to have seen the first show of STP’s last tour with Scott, (Victoria BC), which was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen and I’ve seen a few. After leaving the small-but packed-crowd in a craze, Scott waited until most people were gone and then he returned. He watched the stagehands, and spun around to see…what the venue looked like, maybe? I wish I’d wheeled over & asked but I probably would’ve been stopped. I’ll never know-he looked to be in deep thought. They had just played an incredibly tight show. With or without Scott, those guys are dripping with talent. I really like how they arranged this piece, and am grateful that you posted it. Cheers! 🙏🏼

Chris broke my heart, when I was 12 I named my cat Chester after Chester Bennington and he just passed at 18 years old. These guys were such incredible artists. I regret the songs we will never hear.
