These videos are a godsend, been fishing for 25 years and winter steelhead is new to me so I was lost in the sauce until I found these videos. 2 trips, 9 hits and no fish landed so far but I know I'll connect eventually.
@@uncletodd21 yes actually, took until trip number 12 and 28 hits before I finally stuck one all the way to the bank. Ended the season back in March with 5 landed.
After 10 plus years of getting skunked, I caught my first steelhead on opening day this summer. I credit it all to your guys tutorial videos! Thank you for sharing all your hard work and knowledge!
New steelhead hunter, I am a newbie to steelhead fishing, your how to videos are the best on RUclips, I have gone through your how to videos, very helpful and informative, thanks for the help
Great tutorial man! Just moved up to the Rogue and making the switch from two handed Spey to conventional gear. Looking forward to the run. Tight lines my brother
Love all of the videos you guys make. Caught my first Steelhead today on my second trip on the river thanks to tips and explanations in videos just like this. Keep it up and thanks for everything.
Nice. As primarily a fly fisher (and BFS), I like checking out what the conventional folks are doing. I try to incorporate some of these ideas into my work. With your float system, you could incorporate some larger nymph and streamer patterns into your presentations. Maybe substitute some barred rabbit zonkers for your soft plastic worms and leeches? Thanks for the tips. Tight lines.
Just got one of the guide select pro rods and after the first time out with it I have to say that I am VERY impressed. It outperforms its price by a long way.
I just got back into fishing this year and your videos are awesome for learning/re-learning, you guys always kill it and have fun doing it. Where would a guy find your addicted worms at, I've looked at cabellas, bass pro, and sportsman's
love the video , but one question , when catching a steel head which one is the one you keep , ? someone stated a fin in missing ?hatchery or wild? and what is the length of the steelhead? and is it different state to state? one more thing, i have sst okuma 10'-6" rod salmon/steelhead would this rod work for the spinning set up?,
Thanks for the awesome video. I am looking through Okuma's website to pick up some GSP's like in this video.Do you have the model numbers for each rod you showed, I am mainly curious about what power of rod you are using. they have a ton of options on their website. thanks in advance!
Thanks for the tips Jordan! Question on rods for you… would a 6’6” medium heavy bass rod be sufficient for steelhead in a river? Understood line mending may be a challenge, but would it work “ok”? Where I live there are no steelhead, but I’m taking a trip to MI for steelhead or salmon this fall. Not sure I want to buy a new rod for the trip, but also don’t want to kill chances of success. Thoughts?
Getting started and just got the addicted winter chrome II set. Do you have a rod recommendation? I have the C-40 Ceymar reel. I know your using a 9’6 rod, just wondering a brand/model for a beginner
Are you fishing in an artificial only stream?.Best bait I have found is roe.Salmon or trout eggs.Either skein or loose eggs. They out-produce artificial bait hands down by my experience.
So with the bead set up, your typical leader length is? Next would how far down the number 6 split shot? So the goal is to hav3 the split shot slightly bounce off the bottom? Last, your pencil lead was what? 1/4 Oz? Thanks for the help
So when fishing the bead set up, depth wise. If i am fishing a 3ft leader am i adding that to the depth of where my bobber stop ends? Like if the bobber stop is up 5 ft does that mean im fishing 8ft of line? Sorry if i confused you or if its dumb
What areas do you guys fish at near your hometown? I've been steelhead fishing for years and learned a few things here and there but still never been able to catch em
Jordan I love your guys videos but can't figure out how to keep my braid from twisting when using a spinning reel with a flash glow or spinner used the same set up you shown but it still gets twisted could you lend some insight to my problem please an thank you
Rookie here, been starting to fish for trout preferably but haven’t had any luck yet. I’ve fished the meramec river in Missouri. I don’t know if it’s just the spots I’ve been at, but the water is murky, almost muddy, not clear and clean like your rivers in the videos. I caught a catfish, sunny and garr so far. Is this more of a spot issue? The river is pretty wide in areas, I also am fishing from the bank, I don’t have a boat. Lastly, I have a hard time casting out, I seem to only get 12-15 feet out, water is shallow, if I add weight, my lure sinks to the bottom and gets caught… suggestions?
It's a little unclear to me when the bumper comes into play? My inclination is that it'd be in instances where you've got really crystal clear water or where you've got some deeper pools within the run. I think I've seen other @Addicted Fishing float videos where a bumper wasn't used. I've been using Dave's tangle free method and have been going braid mainline to fluoro leader without a bumper.
Question Everyone says to get foot fishing pole. Where I am going has very little access to river and it isn't very wide in access points. Would 6'6" pole not work. Or is it easier with longer pole to cast in narrow spaces with bushes in the way.
@addictedfishing im a small bait maker out of washington who makes steelhead worms i make 2 different kinds respond if you’re interested in trying then

Very helpful . thanks guys . always have the best tips. #addicted.
So how do you determine how much of a fluorocarbon bumper to use tied to your main braided line?
This is the exact same approach I use to fish my local river. You never know which one is going to work best.
So much good info here love it 🔥
This video rocket it. Why? Great combination of detail and results.
So i was watching the Alaska silver salmon series to yakutat a few days ago and was curious about the spinning rods and reels the guys were using.

Hey could you share a link to your rubber bobber stops? Thanks for the great videos👍
Hell yeah
When you bead fish with a sliding float do you try to keep bead a foot off bottom like a jig/worm or do you want it tapping bottom?
Fish on!!!!!!!!
For the 1st worm setup can you replace the split shots with an inline weight?

Sometimes we use shinners.
What size jig head do you use for the worms
1/8 or 1/4 oz
Hi! Great video! Would these worms work for lakes too? And where can i buy them? i always look for great new baits and tecniques. Thank you :D

What's a good mid range (price) raft to buy?
What make of raft do you have.
What size is that glass bead for the bead rig?

that was supposed to say 9 foot pole
A long leader like that would be considered snagging from what I've been told
I’m loving these videos you guys are making this seem too easy, what size of hook do you use for the first setup though for the worm? Thank you!

just always remember to lift your tip and go up and down!
Where Can I get the addicted float? I live in sweden and they are out of stock everywhere... :(
