Hey Brod, revisit the twirling bird drill. really feel twisting the weight into your left knee and hip .. the more you put it there, the more you can put it onto the brace. edit. once you use more 'ground' to your advantage, then you can work on getting more(higher number) shoulder turn and 'elbow-shoulder-chest' angle edit 2. easy to say, difficult to feel
Love watching people progress. Next time maybe throw a couple discs, choose the best throws and avrage the distance. Then you can compare and show us what worked for you
Not a coach either (at all), but have you tried extending your “reach back”? It looks like your power pocket is great, tight, explosive. But I wonder if you can achieve better velocity after reaching back further. Something to try 🤝
As a fellow 2(4)00'~ thrower, I've tried to subscribe more to the Albert Tamm-style, just be smooth approach in my throws (also because I am rapidly approaching MA40 :D). I notice that I get substantially more distance when I stop trying to just obliterate the disc and focus more on the spin and release, and then everything sort of falls into place with the rest of the body. I'm also not a coach, so take this with many grains of salt.
I am right with you, just subtract 100' from your goals and you are at mine. My theory is if I can throw a bomb to 400-450, I should be able to consistently throw accurate shots 300-350. I have been experimenting with a little crow hop. Same opinion as you that it feels good in a timing aspect and for me a little more natural as a former baseball player. I am a brand new player this year, so nose angle is my main focus. Consistently getting it down. Enjoyed the video.
Kinda like the idea of the hop. Thought my runup was alright, but when I watch myself on video, I look like I'm in slow motion. Maybe the little hop will give me better timing without being out of control. Also in terms of filming, love this setup for fieldwork. The backdrop of the huge trees helped us see the flight of the discs. Nothing better than frolftubers throwing discs into a blue/gray sky and you can't see shit.
The hop may also be forcing you into a stiffer brace since you're landing with weight into the leg forcing it to react. With a walkup you may have to be more conscious of actually bracing. It is interesting tho, bracing is something I'm trying to get better at. Might give it a try once my knee heals. I think you use the crow hop for a while and see if it translates any rhythm or brace to your normal throw after a while
@@broderic thrifting is actually the best way to get clothes for frolf. Found a 70 dollar north face all weather T shirt for 20 bucks the other day and I’ve been wearing it like every round
Loved this discussion Brod! Haven't noticed the crow hop before but seems to be working for you. I learned backhand a year ago started about 250' and now getting into a consistent 390-410ft range. Do you mind mentioning what your arm speed has been clocked at?
Have you tested / do you anticipate all the dayglo brod birds to be that flippy? I couldn't help myself so I ordered 2 more in this second wave, a pink and a dayglo.
Great effort. Just find a flow and enjoy disc golf. Don’t go donkey show on us. We don’t want donkey brod. Find some things that are easy to share and show us results. Don’t just go ham, dead lift disc golf. Like bring the talent.
You are throwing at sea level in wet heavy air. You won’t ever get max distance there. 420 is still a bomb. Washington is a beautiful state but the state bird is a slug.
Stop watching this vid and go snag a brodbird!! Teach me the ways of distance brother broderic!! 🤘
I didn’t say it he did⬆️
Immediately became my favorite disc 🤙
I get hooked on videos like this. If you did this every video I’d watch until my eyeballs bled
Also pro bosses are insane. That’s what got me 5th in the distance comp
@@mobofone2899you throwing new Pro boss? Or you get your hands on some old ones? I know innova been putting out some money ones lately

Good looking form not only looks good, but it also represents discipline and consistency. Bad form pros don't exist for a reason.

The crow hop aka the mini Conrad smackers
Ordered it 30 minutes later it's in the mail. BOOM this Plum one looks like it's going to be nice. Hopefully easy to find, now thinking about it..
The missus ordered me my second brodbird. Got a pink in the first run, hoping she got me a plum in this run🔥
Just ordered a BrodBird!!! It better ace every other hole!😂😂😂
10:35 100% right i love these videos btw brod, you explain things so well!
Appreciate that, I just say alll the words😂🤝
15:49 - 15:57 had me rolling 🤣love the vid, keep it up

Even MVP throwers know that plastic does come close to those gems.
I notice you lack mobility in your right shoulder. This is likely part of your elbow problem. Great video again.

I too advocate for the name "crow hop"
Yeah great vid and all but we're a little light on the B-roll feat. dog.
Max weight purples sold out immediately :( so i picked up a pink 168g
Lighter ones are so pushy🤝
Paused the vid to buy two brodbirds🤝
did you play LF,CF or RF? I was a center guy just cause I could haul

Garrett Gurthie has a bit of a crow hop in his throw and we all know he’s a noodle arm 😮💨
Can we see your form from side view?
Next time🤝 this was a very spur of the moment vid so it was all one angle/take
I’m interested in the theory of flight dynamics and the force we can generate to get distance. Distance and precision
