That is a true statement. The BE-100 Deluxe can do from clean an gingly to full blown chug and everything in between. I had mine shortly before release and I am superbly impressed. Best amp I have ever owned.
we did a behind the curtain blind test with several high gain amps at my buddies shop. marshall, kerry king signature marshall, orange rockerverb and dual dark, EVH 5150, blackstar, mesa dual rectifier, friedman butterslax and be100. the others kept up with friedman just fine. my fav out was the orange rockerverb.
* My guess is an Ernie Ball Musicman Baritone Axis, through a VFE Ice scream over drive, into the Friedman Be-100 Deluxe, into a mesa 2x12 cabinet. Your clean tone is a SOLID 6/10.
Great playing! Love the fluff riffs! That guitar is sick too! The BE is definitely a beautiful amp. I'm digging that black and gold. They went full on with the Marshall knobs.
May sound close on stereo speakers or direct in to a pc but live that unit even thru the best Power Amp isn't equivalent to a real tube Amp. Sorry. Ive seen it multiple times live.
Hey Fluffy, I got the BE-50 Deluxe but why do both the BE and HBE in the BE-100 Dlx sound so different? I find it more heavier, yet clearer and grittier than the BE-50 Dlx. Isn't this supposed to be the same amp but with a different clean and obviously lower power? What did you think in regards to the two amps, tone-wise (no need to get into the added options or the first channel). Love your channel. Thanks!
No it isn't, just some twisting knobs and pulling switches without knowing what you're doing. For example : pulling the Fat Clean switch up and down at 5:35 won't make a difference while playing on dirt channels, it only affects the clean channel. And the saturation switch gives a huge volume drop so you have to compensate by adding volume on the BE/HBE channel volumes or master...Just merely flicking it up and down for a second won't give you an idea what it really does..There are other reviews on YT that give a focus on this.
You could a H&K Triamp MkIII for that and it has 3 more channels, reverb, 3 selectable power amp tubes. Will do 150,100,and 50 watts, and looks better, plus has a redbox d.i. etc.
Those Friedman sound wicked for sure, I tried some and they really are outstanding, but you know... still 4000+ for what basically is still kind of a modded JCM800? Meh...
Hi everyone! I just woke up myself and hope that you guys are all having a wonderful and fantastic day, be good to each other and no matter who you are or what you believe just be a good person love one another. Take care and God bless everyone wish you all nothing but the best. 💙 ️ ☺️
I have a Pink Taco, great little amp, friedman makes some great amps. They are pricey though, for the price i expect at least 4 if not 6 channels like the H&K triamp mkIII,plus reverb, midi control etc
Hey man, I’m torn between picking up one of these guys, or possibly the Triamp MK 3. I’ve watched both of your videos on each amp. Would you have any input that could help me make a decision? Either way, keep up the great work!
Friedman, amps always sound undefined to me. Almost like the harmonics and a cord doesn’t ring properly with his gain stage. Although I’ve heard some guys get some kick ass tones. In general, they sound kind of sloppy. 5:29
guitarplayergeek yeah it’s always sounded like that, if riffs beards and gear wasn’t actually in his channel name no one would know what he says in the intro.
Sounds like a JCM800 with a lot of that Marshall white noise removed (I used to call it the corn flakes crunch). It's like something in the top end that add's character, but totally kill's chord clarity. Your Butterslax demo seems to have it still but with your BE and JJ vid's the tone sounds much clearer. How close is the HBE channel to the JJ's JBE mode on the BE-100 Deluxe?
Dave Friedman gave the settings to get an identical JJ sound on the BE100 Deluxe somewhere on Rig Talk in the Rack Systems/Friedman thread. It was his answer to a guy that sold his BE100 Deluxe and bought a JJ.
I was regretting the fact that I can't afford that and my girl was cute to me. She told me I don’t have to be sad missing it...because I can’t even play 😑
I always thought the Fryette PB's had a really unique stiff dry-ness to them and the Friedman's feel more saturated and noticeably saggy. Both sound like cleaned up Marshall's but I think they feel completely different. Have you got any experience with either? Would love to hear more of your opinion on this?
@@baconfirre with vht/fryette yes and they are more less a dry amp but with all the options for tone shaping you can clear the dryness quite a bit, I had hands on with the friedman but from the looks and specs to me it's just like a fryette just the tone shaping options just label different
@@Tacklebox455 Both awesome amps, I can see where you've drawn the similarity though. So those voice switches you think are kind of doing what you would do with a PB's EQ section anyway but with less specific control of frequencies? Fryette's and the older VHT's are damn hard to find these days though!
@@baconfirre well the vht/fryette you have preamp voicing tweaks and of course if it has the graphic EQ there even better but they also have controls on the back that allow you to tweak the power amp and effects loop too , so yeah from what I'm seeing same concept as the Pittbull and Deliverance. But that's my opinion I'm not saying the friedman is junk or anything just saying they it has very similar tweak controls
DannyLlerenaTV from another video I’ve seen, it’s great! Don’t have the link but all you have to do is dial the gain down and adjust the gain structure with the switch on the back and it sounds really good! I’d give it an 8.5/10 for those styles. Personally a cranked Marshall will still do GNR better, and for less money
@@tannerblades9049 Not quite a Marshall for the GNR stuff i'd have to agree, but as someone who plays a lot of soul and R&B as well these things seem to have a surreal clean channel with that British style overdrive when needed
ROFL I sold my Kemper to go back to real amps, to each his own I guess. Love my Friedman’s, I used to use Friedman profiles before I got my real ones, pretty close but the Kemper falls apart when you need to adjust gain or eq.
Nolly had his Friedman around the workshop last year and it was immense. I just love how vintage they look and how brutal they sound.
"If you want jangly cleans?" Doesn't demo. "If you want super low chuggies" Entire song.
Never change, my man. NEVER.
Should fluff ever demo "cleans" (as called so by him I GUESS)
It does have a good clean tone, though. I’ve played one.
hahaha
i came exactly to this review to see if it had the chuggies. The cleans on this amp are pretty sick.

Same, except I have the BE OD Deluxe running into it (along with a tube preamp) so that cures the feels for now !
Butterscotch tele ok?

Had a Marshall KK sig (and a JVM 410 H), both were thin sounding compared with this BE100 Deluxe. This is one of the worst reviews by the way.
How was the Marshall Kerry king sounding ?
Oh my God, that awesome amp !
There is so much cool in this amp that 6min passed like 30s...
Always wondered about the hype behind these... Now I get it.
Thx Fluff
Friedman are consistently my favourite amps by a longgggg way. But i doubt id ever purchase one with my current finances lol

Happy I got to see this before it gets taken down, for casually playing the intro to Everlong.
God Called In Sick Today just took me back to my bedroom in high school playing along to every song on that album.
I think this may as well be one of the best sounds you got in years. Somehow it sits perfectly.
Glad to hear a nostalgic afi riff.

What is the riff from 3:58 ~ 4:20 ? I know I heard this b 4 many times, can't remember 🤔
lol I don't even have the drive to want amps anymore. I will continue to thoroughly enjoy mine within my Fractal unit!

God called In sick @3:00 thank you
That’d be rad if you got a Friedman endorsement. For your style and Dragged Under it seems like it’d be a great fit, tighter than Orange
I DIG!! I don't want to even know the $$$$$$! Way out of my price range! Good post dude!!
Come here for the amps, stay here for the beard and chugs.
