The BE 100 Deluxe is a End All Be All Amp. I LOVE mine. I sold all my other amps except my JCM800 which is another one I'll never let go. These 2 amps will all you ever need in any style.

Love Mikes big hairy demos and sense for overall great tone. Dave sure put blood sweat and tears into this monster. Great Job and contribution into the arena. The ability to tune amps and voice them like this takes decades of burning desire and midnight oil!!!
Awesome demo as always. Big Hairy Guitars continues to be one of my favorite RUclips channels. I love the idea of separate Gain and Vol controls for BE and HBE, AND having the Plexi channel, but I've grown to love my 2014 BE-100 too much to let it go.

Wow this amp has all of the tones I have been looking for... Dave knocked it out of the park with this one. Mike wow I love your reviews. You really went through almost all of the settings. Oh by the way for all the low wattage head guys. The BE 100 sounds great a low volume. Dave sets the global volume and effects loop return up so you don't need the amp at full volume to get great tone.
The intro track is so much fun with a subwoofer..

Finally! A Friedman for people that actually liked the JVM
I know this was mixed darker for "most" people watching RUclips on phones and laptops, But that doesn't mean we don't use headphones. I would never listen on one of these phone speakers and think this is the sound... It's always in studio monitors or headphones. Anyways. Great video. Great amp. Another hit!!!
You know belonging to GN's on FB I get to see a lot of Friedman posts and appreciate what they are but this Deluxe so far is "The One" that has me thinking I need to get on board .... Pretty amazing amp they built!!
Absolutely a great sounding amp really brings out the true sound of any guitar plugged into it. The distortion is in my opinion Absolutely great no need for distortion pedals. Big investment will consider guitar playing and demonstrate thanks!
I wont even think of buying an amp if it needs a pedal for distortion..

I would like to see a small BE head (lower wattage) with built in IR's and similar to the Suhr PT15 but Friedman BE, that would be great for home use.
The new JJ Jr, as well as a Pink Taco, both made by Friedman, are like Small BE's, regarding tone.

I like how the Sat switch, C45 switch and adding depth takes you to almost Matamp territory. I've always wanted a "Marshall" that can get very spongy and smooth, that does well with legatos and liquidy lead tones.

Question...does the SAT switch also affect the "Clean" channel? Would be cool if you could add saturation to the maxed out gained Plexi channel.

What is the difference between the tone of the smallbox head vs the plexi channel of this deluxe? Anything besides wattage?

THANKS Kioni!!! I wrote that for this demo. I did use a TC gate for some of the more staccato parts. And in the mix, I cut out some of the noise parts. STP! YES! Thanks!
I find that the SAT switch is better for if your playing the amp at low volume and you need it to breakup better.

when you’ve dialled in your favourite tone/sound on each channel that’s it the rest becomes redundant, it does sound incredible, but there’s lots of pedals to shape tone, don’t over complicate amps, by the time you’ve done fiddling around with all the switches knobs buttons etc it generally sounds near to a Marshall plexi amp soooooo just takes a lot longer to get there 🤔 get a plexi turn it on then boooom play
I have had the opportunity to use both a Marshall Plexi and this BE-100D extensively, from my honest opinion, the Friedman does the Marshall's job better in terms of how their respective plexi channels perform and how to respond to pedals. In addition, you don't need to absolutely crank the Friedman to get good tones like you need to with the Marshall. Not only that, but the BE-100D is a much much more versatile amp than any Marshall. I guess it makes sense since Dave Friedman started out by repairing and modifying Marshalls.

Why 20 watts? Do you prefer EL84’s or 6V6’s? Sacrificing low end of EL34’s/6L6’s, large transformers and headroom seems like a bad idea on a medium-high gain amp. I know forum guys act like evil sound guys forbid them from using big amps but I’ve never had an issue with cranked 100-watters and 99% of the shows I’ve seen in my life have been half and full stacks and these are all small venues.
...because that amp may be what most players need, and it will outsell the other dream-heads

That plexi channel is inspiring, I don't think it sounds too much like a plexi (maybe a cranked plexi!) but oh man is it tasty.
I read that these amps warranties for life. Is that true? I bought mine used, but still absolutely brand new condition from a popular chain music store. But should make no difference. As long as its not user error. Say capacitors blow, or transformers issues etc. Am i right? Cuz $3200 is lot to spend on an amp!! But it is for me, the best amp I ever owned or played. No question about that!!

The JJ Jr is close. Of course it doesn't have all of the switching and not as much control. But at a dramatically reduced price and wattage... the JJ Jr is close!
Besides the JJ Jr being close, tonewise, the Pink Taco is close too.

I just picked up a Smallbox Combo about a month ago. I'm genuinely glad I went for it then, because I'd have dropped the cash on this instead (and I REALLY don't need it).
