  • Unfortunately, the rainy days continued in the wine region. We arrived at the house museum of Alexander Chavchavadze in pouring rain to find it closed. We “camped” at the spacious parking in front of the museum. Fortunately, we found that Shota’s Marani was nearby. We called whether they could do dinner for us (it was Easter). As we arrived the fire was already roaring and the table set for two. Mya’s freshly cooked food was the best we had in Georgia and they also serve lovely wine (we took some of it home). To top things off Mya served us a very nice traditional Easter cake. If you are in the area, do give her a call (they prepare everything fresh, so like to know who visits upfront). The next day we visited the museum and grounds after which we headed towards Overland Haven (Grant & Sarah) for a few days to sit out the bad weather, do laundry etc. Of course we still visited a few churches/monasteries.
