A first attempt to reach the Trchkan waterfall with our MAN HX60 Bliss mobil
Our first off-road destination was the Trchkan waterfall. We looked at the map and the various tracks beforehand to see which route would possibly be best for us, given all the rain in recent days. We decided to take a road that required us to cross a few “hills” but would get us close to the waterfall. As often the case, the road turned out to be not more than a track. We continued as the going was ok, although turning points became limited. At one point we were overtaken by a local Mercedes. If he is ok on the track, for sure we will be. We wanted to drive from the Dalis Mta Reservoir through the other side of the Chachuna Managed Reserve towards Udabno. We most enjoy camping in nature, that is what our set-up is made for and we love it. Therefore we were keen to move back to the area close to the Echo viewpoint. We much enjoyed camping on the edge of the Nature Reserve and exploring the area a little at our own pace and with our truck. After our stay we headed back to Dedoplistskaro.

The weather had cleared up a bit and our permit for the mud vulcano area was still valid, so we headed to the Dalis Mta Reservoir (which is the only place the border police allows camping). Another nice hike in the Lagodeki area is the Black Grouse waterfall hike. The warden, on registration, warned us parts of the path were slippery. It was another beautiful hike. Strangely, we enjoyed sitting in the mist of the waterfall. We camped in the parking lot at the start of the hike.

The abandoned airfield lies only some 40km from Dedoplistskaro. It was a Soviet-era airfield where predominantly MIG-17’s were stationed. Apparently it was used in the Afgan war. At walking distance of Eagle Gorge sits Kornabuji Castle. It was probably constructed, originally, at the end of the first millennium BCE. At the edge of Dedoplistkaro lies Eagle gorge. It is a well known area for big bird watching. We camped at a beautiful spot. We watched the birds from the top of the cliff. @@DestinationUnknownNetherlands and what is the weight of such a wheel? is this also the hutchinson rims on that the tire is mounted? could you also have been 'opened' the rim and repair the tire from inside??
@@peteruppert They are about 200kg. Yes these are Hutchinson's beadlock rims. This leak was just in the edge towards the wall of the tire. A repair could be possible (they will repair everything here), but as we run the tires also at very low pressures we do not feel comfortable with repairs in the side walls.
