    #stephansterns #debraandChrisSterns #madelinesoto
The parents of Stephan Sterns were enablers in creating the Monster that their son became. They supported him, gave him a car to use, paid his rent and ignored obvious warning signs. Debra and Chris Sterns are enablers.

The problem is that they keep making excuses and sending him items in jail. They’re also feeling sorry for themselves which I see in his interviews. Their behavior doesn’t show why he’s a pedo and a murderer but it does show why he’s a selfish whiner.

If these parents truly want the public to leave them alone then they should stay out of the public eye. They are still treating Stephen Stearns like he’s 16 years old. The father is trying to make his son find a career, as he worries about the lack of maintenance on Stephan’s car! It’s ridiculous to think that he was still paying Stephan’s rent 😂 and hurriedly rushed to find hotel rooms for his son and Jenn. Even the most disciplined, educated and energetic parents would have had a very, very difficult time with him. I am not making excuses for them. I only care that Maddie was murdered after he tortured her for years, whilst she was neglected and never afforded the most basic dignity. Unfortunately, this case is one of so many. Suffer the children. What a tragedy that Maddie was not cherished enough by those who entrusted with her care, to prevent her exploitation and murder.

I’m not into blaming the parents. I’m sure they had no idea how to handle Stephan, who in some ways, never developed into a fully functioning adult. My heart goes out to them because they have to be in a bad place right now. I’m sure they are suffering in a despicable way. I feel that they are victims too. If you really think about it, Stephan’s mother was the only one who protected Maddie…not her mother, father, grandmother or her grandfather. A TBI doesn’t cause a person to become a pedi@@@@….but it can cause disinhibition and impulsivity, which could lead to behaviors that would otherwise not be exhibited by a person. I’m in the mental health field and I have seen this play out in all sorts of ways. Also, the fact that Maddie felt comfortable telling Stephan’s mom that she woke up with her leg on Stephan might have been because Stephan’s mom was the only one who bothered to communicate with Mattie on any significant level. Either way, the parents are not responsible for raising a monster and they deserve sympathy, not cruelty.

Must be hell for them. Thought dad was candid speaking on Stephan being lone perp. So fair enough how awful.
Drug addicts are so manipulative as we know and when it’s your kid you don’t often see the signs. Eventually you wake up to their BS but it can take a while. Saw it myself with my parents and my brother. It was frustrating and a lot of tension during those years. My brother wasn’t a killer or SA but the stealing and lies were terrible.

Parents, friends have every right to support their grown child in jail. The parents warned him. I think if he stayed away from Jenn this would likely not have happen. The space of time when Sterns groomed Maddie did make the little girl think she had a loving parent in her life, might have even had a child-like crush on him. That’s what grooming is. It seems Maddie grew into the grooming and grew out of it. It’s still Jenn’s fault. And Sterns for being a heinous pervert.

    Correct them and be consistent.
But the most important thing, PRAY over your children. Put prayers on them. Ask The Lord to guide their steps, protect them, help teach them, and bless them.

The familial relationships also developed over time (maladapted), and there's no 'healthy' in anything Sterns does to others or how they react to him. When people have something at stake (whatever it is), they will default to whatever it takes to placate a problematic relationship and save whatever skin they have in the game. Just toxic. Easier to default and continue rather than change course and learn new behavior. This is utterly tragic. Maddie is dead and before he murdered her, he tortured her for years. She experienced no fairness in her life. Frankly, the adults involved can all go pound sand. Maddie deserved so much better.

Does anyone wonder where Stephan sterns learned about sodomy? Who did he learn that from? I’m not saying it was his father, but I AM saying that his father knew where he learned it from. This is why his ex-law enforcement father - Chris sterns - continues to enable him to this day. The mom is more similar to Jenn Soto (this is why she judges her so harshly), in that she preferred to make excuses for Stephan’s behavior out of some kind of guilt for knowing he was abused. At the end of the day, Stephan stern’s parents talk about him and throw him under the bus in the same way that Jenn Soto and Stephan talk about Madeline and throw her under the bus. They blame her adhd, the mom blames her for “kicking and punching” while she sleeps (Jenn’s very own words in the police interrogation video that just came out). These families are gross, bc they enable evil and when justice comes knocking, they all throw each other under the bus.

I worked with people with brain Injury at The Courage Center. More brain injury than SS has. I worked with them using adaptive tecnology. It depends which part of the brain was damaged. If its the frontal lobe or amygdala it really affects the conscience. Certain other parts of the brain and they have a short temper. You can clearly see the parents could have influenced him to get follow up care if this was an issue. I don't fully blame them but they had money so they had influence over him. A parent with no resources has less influence. They could have denied him a car or housing for not going to get help.

I felt bad for the parents- they enabled his laziness but I don’t think they are horrible people.

A TBI can most definitely alter a person's judgment, ability to process info, personality and, possibly, capacity - for the rest of their life. It is, indeed, a very big issue. Just my two cents as a mental health attorney, with biopsych background.

Crim, Homicide Investigator and Forensic Psych here, TBI can increase risk for behavioral changes but no strong evidence that it creates risk (alone) for the likes of Mr. Sterns. Current evidence suggests it is one facet of a very complicated risk assessment. If they are trying to set the stage for his defense, it went over like a lead balloon.

His parents remind me of my brother and mom. He is still not held accountable after an arrest and loosing his vice president job. I’m the scapegoat of the family & he keeps doing evil.

I'm surprised S.S. mom didn't confront him and Jen about the sleeping arrangements that Maddie told her about.

@cherryandmax624, good to see you here. Where is the clickbait? This is a short segment from the full video on the Policeoffthecuff website, called Sterns Parents Created a Monster. In my opinion, POTC never uses clickbait. We value all our friends. Hope to see you again at one of our live shows. 🤗💙
