Of Russia itself little is known, but it must have been bad as a Russian based nomad empire known as Arkangelsk (which would later become an 8 tier traction city on par with London in size) was already invading Europe for resources during the Black Centuries. There's also passing references to 2 other minor traction cities that came out of Russia.

Making each side 3200m. ...and there are TWO of them, with EIGHT slanted towers 1km high around the perimeter of each, for a total of 18 structures in the complex. (who knows how deep it goes.....)
And that's just their headquarters, Imagine how big their off world production facilities must be!!!
What I wonder, is how in such an over populated world as Blade Runner, a business manufacturing artificial humans is SOOOOO freakin successful? What is the basis of profit in this model?
Good movie, but like most science fiction, it falls apart if you think about it too much.
Also, now with it being a year past when that movie took place, it all seems kinda silly. How did they build all that stuff and make all those people so fast? The population of the Los Angeles metro would have to be over 250 million to fill all those buildings (not just tyrell), In reality, in 2020, the population of the LA metro is about 25 million, no mile high pyramids or replicants to be seen.

On one hand I think the comparison should always go by the longest dimension (there's a tank in there in completely the wrong spot due to being compared by its HEIGHT) but then again I think trains have an unfair advantage. In theory, volume would be the ideal comparison, (but make it very difficult to measure) and except for "needle-like" shapes, comparing by length generally works, but trains break it. Maybe remove the (often almost unlimited) auxiliary cars when measuring? (I think judging a train by its engine alone is closer to fair)
