I do believe Optimus can go faster than the non-cybertronian version of the peterbilt.
To be fair, a lot of Peterbilts can hit speed of 100 mph or around (160 km/hr). Basically a lot of Semi-Trailer Tractors can as long as they're upwards of 400 horsepower.

I'm also surprised a semi-truck can't muster a little more. Around here, the speed limits are 75, and 62 would make such a truck a roadblock. I find it hard to believe that the Mystery Machine could out power a semi, especially because it was likely based on a van that likely had around 100 Hp or less.

This... This isnt even close in some cases. A 9 second 1/4 mile Dodge Charger is trapping a hell of a lot faster than 137 mph. A stock WRX will do 140 and Baby Drivers car was modified. A stock Camaro SS will do 170+. Even if this was going off of how fast they went in the movies/shows, this is still way off.

Well, if you mean just fiction, its still about transmission, most powerfull landbased vehicle can reach only about 7 kmh, but it can carry spaceship from hangar to ramp, Tatra is also slow, but transmission allow to tow a tank, ofcourse racing Tatra trucks can run 140 kmh in desert, so 2000 HP with 2 trailers can be slow...

The 911 from Bad boys was a 964 Turbo 3.6 not a 993 Turbo. The top speed for a 964 Turbo 3.6 is arround 280 kmh.
