    Over 40 years since I first saw Star Wars and this is the first time I've seen anybody describing the Falcon as a pusher tug boat in space. This makes SO MUCH SENSE to me. I've always wondered how it could be a freighter with such small cargo holds. Thank you.

      Same, I can't believe I've never seen this. It makes so much more sense seeing how the weird shape of the ship's front grabs the cargo. It even explains why the cockpit is awkwardly stuck off to one side!

      The millennium falcon is heavily modified for speed though it doesn't have standard sublight or the original hyper drive engine. They're upgraded with a "massive" turbo as such on the sublight engine with some extra heat vent stuff and the hyper drive engine was replaced altogether for one fast than most imperial ships up to cruiser class.

    • @MrMarinus18
      @MrMarinus18 Год назад +2

      Yeah. Usually small cargo ships are pretty much all cargo space with a bridge and a tiny cabin attached and that's it.
      The Falcon looks more like a personal cruise ship. One meant to give a sense of space and feel comfortable on long journeys.

That video had no commentary, no text to tell you what was what, and was so random in what it showed you couldn't get a clear sense of where things were in relation to each other. Your video is clear, concise, gives the viewer a definite sense of where things are in relation to each other, and is just plain fun. Considering it's supposed to be a freighter in space, it would hardly be a problem. In fact, as shown at 1:20, it could actually be an advantage. The ship was never designed for dogfights or for navigating narrow corridors at high speed. The way Han uses the ship, having the cockpit centered would probably be better, but he was originally a smuggler, he wanted his ship to appear unremarkable and blend in, so he left the cockpit on the side. Then he probably got used to it.

    This is pretty amazing! Thank you so much for doing this rendering and sharing it with us. I recently got a LEGO Millenium Falcon and I was looking for the blueprints of the original. I will be changing a few things around the inside of it to resemble the original. I’ll check what other things you’ve done. I’m sure I’ll enjoy them as well. This was also educational apart from being neat and very engaging. I appreciate you 😉👍🏽

    Gotta love how there's no access to the most critical systems...

    • @G1NZOU
      @G1NZOU 4 года назад +2

      That's partly true on tanks of today though, sometimes you gotta remove the entire engine to access a critical component. I'm sure there's a lot more minor access panels and crawlspaces that aren't shown here though to access some more cramped areas, but I'd guess more major maintenance overhaul would be done in spaceports where they can partially disassemble the ship due to it's modularity.

      In most renditions of the Falcon there’s been a doorway between the cockpit corridor and the holochess board.

    Headcanon: The extra cargo (5:43) hold that's hidden inside a wall is where the toilet used to be.
    Han through that since the Falcon is so fast that he could just hold it until the next stop.

  • @Murchad99
    @Murchad99 5 лет назад +69

    Seems like a design failure that the life support systems can only be accessed through the freight loading entrance ... in other words, you can't get to them while in space. In other models, the wall between the main hold and the forward hold (the wall between the two bunks in the "chessboard" room) is labeled as "cargo transfer hatches", which would imply you could pass cargo through. But unless a person is climbing through the "cargo transfer hatch", you need to be landed in order to have someone pass it through to the other side. And why have hatches instead of simply a door with a rail system where people could pass through, move the cargo easily at port, access ALL of the cargo during spaceflight, as well as fix a failing life support system mid-flight?
    I hate myself for actually typing this.

    I have to agree, this guy has done his homework. Plus I admire his high imagination on the schematics of Millennium Falcon. Though this ship just doesn't exist in real world, yet he described it all in detail. Good job 👍👍👍
