This video delves into human anatomy, specifically focusing on the Sciatic nerve and potential Causes of Sciatic Nerve Pain.
Dr. Ryan explains that true sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve is pinched, leading to symptoms such as tingling, numbness, burning, and pain down the leg. The video also discusses Radiculopathy, which occurs when spinal nerves get compressed, leading to similar symptoms that may be mistaken for sciatica.
The video provides a detailed overview of the sciatic nerve pathway, including common areas where impingement may occur, such as the buttocks, pelvis, and hamstring muscles. It emphasizes the importance of understanding the anatomy to diagnose and treat sciatic nerve pain. The video also explains that addressing underlying issues such as Herniated Discs, Bulging Discs, Spondylolisthesis, Stenosis, and Bone spurs can help alleviate sciatic nerve pain.
The video suggests improving Core Support through exercises like Core Balance Training to address the root cause of sciatic nerve pain. It encourages viewers to identify the source of their symptoms and seek appropriate treatment, emphasizing the importance of addressing spinal support to fix sciatic nerve pain.

Excellent discussion
Great information as always!
I have spondy and sciatica type pain and learned to use core little bit at hospital this spring. I watched bunch of your videos and now I've started taking your lessons M1 and learned how important self-awareness of my posture like left and right imbalance is. When I try to fix my imbalance of my movement tightening my buttocks, my sciatica goes away or moves. I don't know how far I can go without surgery but I'm so happy to join your long journey!
Amazing information thank you. Do you have anything specific on calf-related pain? I believe my severe and chronic calf pain is connected to my back pain but I’m not getting anywhere with this
Thank you😊
I experienced a 3 month bout of sciatica type pain in my left buttock and left hamsring. It was treated with acupuncture, exercise, and time . Some of this pain moved down to the top of my left foot and still remains
Also I now have uncomfortable pain in my inner thighs. Any thoughts on what exercises I could do for this issue?
What is solution for l5s1 herniation and radicular symptoms in foot? I'm a month for of this and I'm so confused I keep doing physical therapy and the shot and now I'm ready for surgery cuz I can't fix this anymore
"Building body wisdom" is great advice.
