Stihl 090 Chainsaw Comes Out of Retirement to Saw Huge Tree in Half

- Milling a 5'2" Diameter Log in half using our cut roll cut drop technique. Clutch of our first saw blows up after the initial cut and we are forced to dig out the old STIHL 090 to finish the job. Stick around to the end to see the log split apart.
The giant spruce log is going to be milled into instrument quality wood. Mostly bass tops I'm guessing, but it still doesn't fit on our mill after halving it, so i guess we will have to quarter it. let me know if you want to see more in the comments.

Nice job splittin log. good watch
dude, iv'e had to do that a couple times and i can't believe how strait your cut turned out... no waste...
Thanks for watching! My secret is... I didn't film the first couple of logs.
Woow amazing 💪💪
Amazing!
Thanks
My stil AV 090 had a three foot bar on it, but also got have size one too.
A 3 foot bar would be nice. The 4 foot is a bit much. I have a 5’ too but it’s ridiculous.
How the hell did you get that cut so perfect? Absolutely perfection.
Thanks! Many hours on a chainsaw, and quite a few attempts at it.
The 090g the most expensive of all the 090's that I want in my collection.
how much would you pay for mine? :)
@@MountainVoiceInc I have a line on one locally for $1800 which seems fair because I've seen them go for quite a bit more. Are you seriously considering selling yours?🤔
@@jacobwrona before you spend that money I would pull the muffler and see the insides, the way it started in that video and was idling I am guessing it needs some new cylinder parts......
Do you ever use the manual oiler or do you ever oiled your gears?
Yes I have used the manual oiler a bit. You can sometimes feel the chain tighten on wide cuts and a couple pumps give you a few minutes of smooth sailing. Can't say I have dug into the gear box yet, but eventually that will need to be looked at.
👍👍👍
Good cut ✂️ but where?
right down the middle... just joking, I live in Canada if thats what you are asking.

Lots of practice. It might help that I paid for the logs and really don't want to waste any more wood than i have to.
@@MountainVoiceInc You must have a little scottish in you. Verry clean cut.
Nice ole gear drive. I have a standard 090 with a 41" and 59" bar. That smaller saw must have some uneven rakers, she wants to jump. Here's a 6' Burr Oak I cut down with the 090 back in "15" ruclips.net/video/jdYvGkrBOX8/видео.html
Ya the 066 saw was bouncing on the straight edge board pretty bad at the beginning of the cut. Hand filed rakers probably are not perfect though.
Nice looking Oak tree. let me know if you want it milled up. I have an alaskan that could probably do it. Or give me a shout if you ever want to sell your 090, they make excellent milling saws.
