The 500 is different to run but lots of guys up here like them for falling the big wood. Also Buckin you’ve kind of inspired me to start putting a few of my logging videos on RUclips 👍 It’s kinda fun
Back in 76 I worked logging in the Kitimat Valley . The company had Sthil 050s , they were hard to start , pull the starter cord handle right thru your fingers . They were full of little holes from guys kicking them with their cork boots . They replaced with the Husqvarna 2100 , been a Husky fan ever since . 👍🇨🇦
Buckin, I love you too. I just wanted to share a brief reason why your channel is one of my favorites of all time: I had one heck of a couple of days buckin. Emotions, feelings, events happened, and it all has left me devastated. I needed something to cheer me up, and I knew just the man to watch. Thank you. I love you. I appreciate you. I look up to you. Your outlook on life is inspiring. You may have even saved my life tonight. It was dark. But you got me out of it. Watchin buckin happy to be buckin. Happy to run a saw. You are creating a heck of a ripple effect. This is real man talk. You have become a mentor to me. Again, thank you so much for bringing light into this world.

Hi buckin I’m 54 years old always learning something new every day that’s what life is about we also learned from our mistakes. I no what you mean about the bark box I found straight shot to be the same exhaust fumes hit in the face when cutting on other side. Gordy is a great guy I like watching his RUclips channel he has some pretty cool stuff. You should check out the mufflers that HLsupply performance stainless steel dual port muffler cover for 500i. I have one on my STIHL 661 and very impressed exhaust fumes don’t hit you in face when cutting on other side the dual pipes are aiming towards the dogs. I have one for 500i but haven’t installed it yet good video stay safe out there 👍
Hey Buckin' I have Stihl 441cm and when I got it it was woeful and took about 6 months of perseverance, but now it is one of the strongest saws I run! But the break in period was ridiculous. The calibration of the saw periodically makes such a difference too!
I love it, we’re getting alone and believe we will end up on good terms , but in the end a mutual decision to go our separate ways might be the best . But I have to learn more first,, love yer spirit terry
I'm still using my Dad's old chainsaws and they've worked good for me. MS 390 Stihl and a Husqvarna 455. No mods as of yet but I have been thinkin about some muffler mods. Thank you for all your help in understanding the chainsaw in a better way. God bless from Northeast Alabama.

From a brother just south of your border, in N.W. Montana...thanks for your great insight! Take care of those shoulders, they're all ya got. After a few surgeries on both of mine...man, I know how it is.
ive ran the 500 and many others and the saw i love the most is the 440 mag stihl. i just picked up a 046 stihl too that im really likin too but it needs alittle work still. runs great just needs some love
Hey Billy I love your chainsaw videos, they have helped me alot special the chain sharpening get the gullet!! And I do run a STIHL ms 271 Farm Boss. Keep spreading the positive vibes God Bless.
Great to see you on the mends my friend, it's funny how you can learn people's actions facial expressions movement in general while spending time with them though we have never met we have cut down hundreds of trees, we drove across Canada went to a country music concert I am used to seeing you wound tighter than an 8 day clock. I can see it's tough on you not being able to do what you love, it's tough on me as well I feel for you as I was worried about you I prayed for you. Hard to beat the 500's. I bought one a few years ago, and loved it so much I grabbed a couple more. They've become my everyday go to's for falling timber
Hey what's up Billy Ray! Just wanted to say thank you for the content you put up man. Its much appreciated. I've been a fan for more than a few years but just recently built up the courage to comment. From Santa Cruz County, CA. You're the best man! Thanks!
Hey Buckin, that's pretty a Stihl saw in general. They like to have load against them. My 460 Mag has work.... its like to run the same as the 500i. When you are talking the rakers... its the same for the 460. Filing is key with them. Stock may be a little different. You can bear down on a Stihl. My Husky... you can't do it as much. RipSaw made a rootin', tootin' saw. That was a great test. I glad you like it. Great video brother! Peace and love!
Rip saw 😮, I’m old school stick to jonsered and husqvarna 2195 and 98 . I’m 60 plus in age still put in 10 hrs a day in the timber in my blood . Still love my hand file over all the new stuff out let it at that . 😊

I will tell you this buckinI have many of 500is they're all souped up I have a BarkBox on 4 of them I also have the bigger West Coast saw side cover it does keep the chips away a lot more than the stock one on the 500 I I believe myself the stock one is so small hope that helps God bless

Still think I prefer running my 066 when it's in decent running order but that's about a chance in a million 🥸 Thanks for posting and much love. Good to see ya cuttin.
Not seeing those bog issues with 550 mk2 572 and especially 592. All 3 saws have good range of power at all rpms. Though mine are not ported. Wondering if parameters set by computer wont allow variation of fuel air mix? Hard to figure out in the woods. I want to learn but not practical in the woods.
Dual Response Trigger- Rocked Forward or Back for Lean or ~Fat throttle Response ...that would fix the 500i ...give it two seperate modes that could be instantly switched between
Buckin, awesome video! What’s your thoughts on the difference between the stock/ported 462 vs stock/ported 500i? Any chance you’d have the ability to show the comparison? Thanks!! Greetings from WV!
Buckin - I think I have it figured out. Us east coast guys put it into any hardwood 2" or bigger and it gets the load it needs. Out on the west coast...with that soft wood you have...it needs to be 20" in diameter. 🤣😂 Just kidding - love watching your content, but I love my stock 500i.
I have to admit I have been spoiled with the old hot rod 71 -72 that cover all basis. they missed the mark a bit on the 500 but it is great in the bigger stuff fer sure.
The saw dancing on the stump was hilarious. Great to see you cutting and smiling again Buckin'.
Again...Stihl saws are one of the best saws Worldwide..a master piece of german engeneering..!!!!

Dual Response Trigger- Rocked Forward or Back for Lean or ~Fat throttle Response ...that would fix the 500i ...give it two seperate modes that could be instantly switched between
Yup, three settings even, like on a bike...low, medium, and Buckin .
The 500 don't impress me....
But your sharpening !
Ouuuuuu
Awesome woodman
The MS500i does quite well.
Buckin, you should Get Donny to Port your second 500i and compare in a Video
8:10 is like my drunk buddy at da kitchen party . Havin great ol time doin a appy dance then falls over lol .
thats me after missin the bush lolololol
What does the change in sound signify? Does it matter that it's growling, or is it a matter of taste?
Precisely, a matter of taste.
Buckin, awesome video! What’s your thoughts on the difference between the stock/ported 462 vs stock/ported 500i? Any chance you’d have the ability to show the comparison? Thanks!! Greetings from WV!

Fantastic comparison. Would you say a ported 462 is comparable to ported 500? Only reason I ask is I have stock, strong 462.
