In a former life, I cut professionally, part-time, for many years. It was mostly during the time when Dutch Elm Disease ravaged our area, and comprised maybe half of our business. We were licensed with the city who would pay half the removal cost for diseased elms.
The abundance of firewood and high heating costs started a craze for heating with wood. Everyone instantly became self proclaimed lumberjacks. There were many serious injuries, and lots of property damage. I've seen stuff that would even make Paul Bunyan cringe.
I'm so glad to hear you are running classes. Insurance and Workers Comp rates are a testament as to how dangerous this type of work can be.
Man that 400 sounds wicked, I'm a husky fan, that 400 cuts like butter, slay them deader than Elvis tree's, awesome video Tim, thanks for sharing 🌲🇺🇸💪
Ladies and gentlemen it’s not as easy as he makes it look. He is a true professional!!
Like the basket on the mini
cutting through the hinge is like cutting your brakes on your car when your coming up to a abrupt stop lol
I just got me a 400 yesterday ,,,, I'm a novice but have some big wood on my property
I think I got the correct saw ,,not to big not to small
ok the hitch hauler on the mini is brilliant
It’s a huge time saver.
Hello everyone. My ms400 cm 24" bar. Just came in. I waited 5 months for it to get here. Just in time for winter.
It’s a good saw and you will like it.
Good workshop! Highly recommend it….
If YOU recommend it, it’s bound to be the SHIZNIT! 👍
Good morning CT. That 400 ant no joke.
Thanks for taking us along
WowWe! That 400 is a beast! And I figured it would be because my little 251c cuts good! Wish I had an excavator tho! Lol Good video my friend!!
How do you like the MS400 compared to a 461 or 462?
Sorry i had some message about speed changed to x1.2 but that was supposed to be on a video i saw before this video. Sorry
Definitely need a saw
Picked up a 400 w a 20" bar back in August and that's been absolutely enjoyable to run. The vibration dampening is amazing and more that enough to do what I need.
Also testing Pfanner Ventilation chainsaw pants. I've enjoyed them down here in the South (West Tennessee) nothing will be comfortable in the summer but these are really nice.
Awesome video. Chainsaw classes are definitely a good investment. Might even save you a deductible on your insurance
I have the 362 c and the 400c
My 400c doesn't feel light after I've been using it all day lol.
Great video.. always learn something what's your schedule like for 2022 chainsaw classes .. interested in taking one in the new year..
Oh man! I have nightmares about putting my saws on the ground and running them over. I'm actually looking into a way/place to mount a chainsaw scabbard on my machine for when I'm jumping on and off to buck and limb the work I'm handling.
That is what happened to my first ms400 had is 3 months and the forwarded destroyed it on my second one now love that saw it is amazing has never let me down ever and it keeps up with the bosses 500i (which annoys him ha ha ) great saw highly recomend
Yer its dangerouse!
Is that 562xp available? I had one, but has been MIA since my brother borrowed it and "lost" it.
On bore cuts .when you find out the tree is hollow do you always follow through or change depending on the tree?
Just stay the course. If it’s a heavy side lean tree you better regroup and you may have to adjust.
Thanks
Doesent have the power of 462 but if sharp. Does ok,!
How long do you usually get out of a round file chisel saw chain before you have to discard it from sharpening?
Mine last a very long time.
@@cotontop3 I get about 6 months out of mine is that seem right or am I filing to much?
File life, as with most things, is dependent upon circumstances. I’ve had 1 file last for 3 chains (rare) a had to use 3 different files for 1 chain. BTW, all the same brands of file then the same brand of chain. It’s going to be dependent upon where the damage is, how much material at once needs removed from the chain, the circumstances in which the wood was in (clean or dragged up & full of rocks). Besides, chronicling by “time” isn’t the way to measure file life. I use a new file whenever the one in question starts to “skate” on the chain. If you do that (or sooner) you’ll realize just how nicely a new file works.
400 Doesn't sound bad for a day amd half training.
Good work Tim:):)
I know all your stuff cuts like this one In the video
👍👏
You runnin a straightshot or barkbox on that animal?
Bark box is what I use.
@@cotontop3 10-4, they're both good products. I prefer the egan straightshot sound and thicker material myself.
$400 bucks for a chainsaw class ?
Where are you located?
I am in columbus Mississippi
Good morning Mr Tim
Morning Joseph 👍🏻🇺🇸
@@cotontop3 hope your doing well this morning.
