I love that Isabela has a really strong nose and darker skin, and a lot of other physical traits we don’t really see to be stereotypically beautiful in movies and have her labeled the beautiful one. It’s really nice to see.
I said that to my husband. I know their supposed to be Columbian which are darker skintoned buy they could have easily copped out. I was really happy everyone was different and unique

I was just about to say this! Yes, I know she's Colombian which is an achievement in itself for Disney. But she's still a dark-skinned character (who isn't Black American) and she's considered the most beautiful and perfect character. It's SO refreshing!
I REALLY wish the Disney Store and Habsro Disney dolls had the articulation like Made to Move Barbie dolls. It would’ve made the dolls more enjoyable to play, collect and customize.

I like all the songs, but I feel like Waiting on a Miracle isn't talked about as much as it should be. I know at some point we've all felt the way Mirabel did and the fact the singer sang a happy song first before singing her true inner demon was a brilliant feature. Waiting on a Miracle, Surface Pressure, and We don't talk about Bruno hit me in the feel-goods. Lol
I really love how you gave her dark skin, a really strong, bold nose and thick eyebrows. Because theses things aren’t stereotypically beautiful, but this proves that these features can be amazingly beautiful
I love how Disney is starting to make their female characters have more realistic body shapes and this doll shows that off really well! I’m so happy that you used the official Disney doll for this because it had that body structure, overall amazing job as always!! ❤️
And with Encanto, it feels like Disney finally listened to the complaint that all this CGI heroines just looked like Elsa from frozen with a palette swap. People used to try and justify/defend it by literally comparing millimeter differences in the princesse's faces to prove that they were diverse, but Encanto really blasted that out of the water by having all the women in the film have just as diverse face and body shapes as all male Disney heroes have already had for over a decade, and also have their looks fit their ages and personalities.
I'm so happy you pointed out Isabella and Dolores' highlighter! I love that they're wearing makeup-- I feel like Disney only likes giving the villains obvious makeup so I was really happy to see some of the characters wearing realistic makeup :3

Probably the best doll I've ever seen. I was raised by a Puerto Rican family and it was so nice to have a movie that hits so close to home (despite the fact it's Colombian). I beg of you to please do another one of the Madrigal ladies
Same!! I lived in Puerto Rico for 11 years (I am also Puerto Rico lmao), and this movie hit too close to home. My family kept looking at each other and laughing the entire time!! It’s amazing how a lot of Latin families can relate to a Columbian movie, despite not even being columbian.
I’m Puerto Rican and Dominican and my family looks like the Modrigals. All different skin colors, hair textures, and personalities. Never saw my family represented in TV before and it was a powerful moment for me.

Firstly, can I just say how much I _dearly_ appreciate how you did not purposely lighten her skintone and her eyes, because I've seen other repainters do that with this Isabela doll (and they do that to _all_ dolls with dark skin and darkbrown eyes)... Except Isabela's favourite colour is blue and wants to wear blue like the rest of her family (Luisa, Mirabel, Julieta and Agustin) - but she feels like she has to wear purple like Abuela to be seen as perfect. We can see this transition to blue in 'what else can I do' when she changes the colour scheme of her room from pink-purple to blue, and at the end of the song when she dances in the blue flowers and changes her dress to blue, which persists to the end of the movie. The fact that this doll is still wearing purple means she still hasn't discovered or accepted her true self

It could be said that Isabella, having experimented with blue and fully incorporated it into her wardrobe and identity, feels free to go back to experimenting with the pinks and purples that she used to dislike because she felt forced into them. It's possible that this represents a moment of Isabella reclaiming a part of her identity that always existed but became over-expressed due to her desire to make her Abuela proud. Now that she's had time to express the other parts of herself, she can return to this earlier part and fully embrace it for herself, without needing Alma's input one way or the other.
While I love the dress that you gave her, I personally prefer her dress at the end of the movie. Then again that's just me personally, cuz I think it shows her personality far better than her original dress

Surely her wedding dress would be a recolor of her original dress in white, like Alma(abuela) and Pepa. I'm a bit resentful about this on the 3d Disney films, use the same model with different colors. And yes, I know that make different models is so much work and also expensive.

I do hope you could make more of the family in your own style xD I feel like Camillo and Luisa would be the most challenging to make since they are so different from the traditional standards of beauty that we normally see. Wow! The end really shocked me, when the explosion of color came out and suddenly the dress had like plants on it and was so incredibly colorful! This is amazing. Great job Hextian. My cousin Ella who is 6 loves it, but admits that perhaps there really is too much highlight, which she calls glitter. We love you!

What I love is how you add the beauty mark to all your creations so that they become an extension of yourself no matter what character they are. There's a little bit of everybody in everybody else.🦄
It makes me so happy as a colombian to see how much people have been talking about Encanto. Before this our representation was rather small and mostly related to drugs, Narcos and Pablo Escobar, but seeing everyone obsessed with the characters, with the foods, with the fashion showed in Encanto, it just makes me very happy. By the way the name of the shoes is actually alpargatas. It’s a type of traditional colombian shoe. I remember we would wear them for school like once a year, when we would have like a school festival to celebrate traditions(día de la antioqueñidad). If mine had been as cute as the ones in the video I probably would have worn them more than that, but mine were just simple black and white. Also, I absolutely love Dos Orugitas, the song that plays when the grandparents meet and the grandfather dies, and when abuelita and Maribel reconcile. It always makes my eyes water a bit.
I watched all the way to the end and was floored at the transition to the previously-unseen color-splattered dress complete with succulent and cacti accessories. You went so hard to make this a special doll!!
Is it just me or are the Disney movies that are about people of color are hitting it BIG time the last few years? It's so awesome to see! I mean I know frozen hit it big but other than that most of the movies that have been big time sellers has been the ones with poc as the main cast. So happy to see Disney and other animation studios getting with the times now! These movies have been so beautifully done, and Encanto has to be my fave of them all! Such a beautiful movie, with a beautiful message and culture. So glad we took my daughter to see it! She is so interested in the Spanish culture now and it makes me so happy!
What an incredible transformation! It goes without saying that your artistry took a pretty doll and made her amazing. My kudos to the editing towards the end of the video. My mouth fell open when she turned into her happiest self, with wild and natural cactus flowers replacing the tame, conventional roses! The music was a super added bonus!

Probably the best doll I've ever seen. I was raised by a Puerto Rican family and it was so nice to have a movie that hits so close to home (despite the fact it's Colombian). I beg of you to please do another one of the Madrigal ladies

Same!! I lived in Puerto Rico for 11 years (I am also Puerto Rico lmao), and this movie hit too close to home. My family kept looking at each other and laughing the entire time!! It’s amazing how a lot of Latin families can relate to a Columbian movie, despite not even being columbian.
I’m Puerto Rican and Dominican and my family looks like the Modrigals. All different skin colors, hair textures, and personalities. Never saw my family represented in TV before and it was a powerful moment for me.
I'm from Mexico and I felt that homey vibe from Encanto even though it's about Colombia hahah

Firstly, can I just say how much I _dearly_ appreciate how you did not purposely lighten her skintone and her eyes, because I've seen other repainters do that with this Isabela doll (and they do that to _all_ dolls with dark skin and darkbrown eyes)...

Except Isabela's favourite colour is blue and wants to wear blue like the rest of her family (Luisa, Mirabel, Julieta and Agustin) - but she feels like she has to wear purple like Abuela to be seen as perfect. We can see this transition to blue in 'what else can I do' when she changes the colour scheme of her room from pink-purple to blue, and at the end of the song when she dances in the blue flowers and changes her dress to blue, which persists to the end of the movie. The fact that this doll is still wearing purple means she still hasn't discovered or accepted her true self

It could be said that Isabella, having experimented with blue and fully incorporated it into her wardrobe and identity, feels free to go back to experimenting with the pinks and purples that she used to dislike because she felt forced into them. It's possible that this represents a moment of Isabella reclaiming a part of her identity that always existed but became over-expressed due to her desire to make her Abuela proud. Now that she's had time to express the other parts of herself, she can return to this earlier part and fully embrace it for herself, without needing Alma's input one way or the other.
While I love the dress that you gave her, I personally prefer her dress at the end of the movie. Then again that's just me personally, cuz I think it shows her personality far better than her original dress

Why do I want to see a Dolores Doll with a Hextian twist? I'm sure you would do her the justice she deserves
It makes me so happy as a colombian to see how much people have been talking about Encanto. Before this our representation was rather small and mostly related to drugs, Narcos and Pablo Escobar, but seeing everyone obsessed with the characters, with the foods, with the fashion showed in Encanto, it just makes me very happy.
By the way the name of the shoes is actually alpargatas. It’s a type of traditional colombian shoe. I remember we would wear them for school like once a year, when we would have like a school festival to celebrate traditions(día de la antioqueñidad). If mine had been as cute as the ones in the video I probably would have worn them more than that, but mine were just simple black and white.
Also, I absolutely love Dos Orugitas, the song that plays when the grandparents meet and the grandfather dies, and when abuelita and Maribel reconcile. It always makes my eyes water a bit.
It's also the tune of abuelas verse in "the family madrigal"

Is it just me or are the Disney movies that are about people of color are hitting it BIG time the last few years? It's so awesome to see! I mean I know frozen hit it big but other than that most of the movies that have been big time sellers has been the ones with poc as the main cast. So happy to see Disney and other animation studios getting with the times now! These movies have been so beautifully done, and Encanto has to be my fave of them all! Such a beautiful movie, with a beautiful message and culture. So glad we took my daughter to see it! She is so interested in the Spanish culture now and it makes me so happy!

What an incredible transformation! It goes without saying that your artistry took a pretty doll and made her amazing. My kudos to the editing towards the end of the video. My mouth fell open when she turned into her happiest self, with wild and natural cactus flowers replacing the tame, conventional roses! The music was a super added bonus!
