    so i followed all the correct procedures as per the TSB, and replaced sensor/cover and motor plug that you did at @5:38. code and CEL keeps coming back on after driving 10-20 miles, ill clear it and eventually comes on again same day. maybe VVT motor is bad?

    Amazing video, what would you recommend doing if the check engine light comes on for the same issue but goes off?
    Sensor was replaced with a universal sensor could that be the issue?

      All the oil may not have been cleaned out or its leaking in it again.

    If you see oil inside the cover it's because it's getting past the center plug and replacing it is the most important step for this repair. I don't see anything in this vid showing the removal of it or the very important step of removing/replacing a new one the "right" way. For tapping it in to the correct depth, Hyundai has a special tool but it can be done with a deep socket (1/2") and some tape on it to mark the right depth. Sorry, this vid is missing some important steps.

    • @gwomp61
      @gwomp61 11 месяцев назад +1

      1/2" socket and 19 mm depth. Mark it with tape and a little tippy tap on the plug with the socket when the cover is on.

      Yes you do. Here it is. 09243-C2000 Cam Plug Installer Tool. The guy in the video put the cam plug in backwards and didn’t set it to the correct depth. It’s gonna leak oil into the cover again.

    • @honeyesko8470
      @honeyesko8470 Год назад +1

      @@johnweaver3977yup. 19mm depth to be exact is where it needs to be using the cam plug installer tool. If you cant get one you can use a deep 1/2 inch socket and mark ot to 19mm

    Two questions for you.
    1. What failed on thae cover causing the oil to leak?
    2. How has the engine replacements on the 2.0L and 2.4L been going lately? Is it dying down, ramping up, or staying the same?

    • @hyundaihowto
      @hyundaihowto  2 года назад

      The gasket in the cover failed. We still have a back log of engines. We cut appointments down to almost none to get caught up on them.

    Firestone suspended mine have a 2016 Hyundai sonata sport 2.4 l., They changed the sensor cover. In my check engine like keeps coming on. With the same code.
    At the same time, I'm getting gas in my oil. They showed me the old cover and it had oil in it. Had spark plugs change too. Bought the car 2 months ago and been having problems with it ever since. Because I can't find A good mechanic.
    ,And the dealership's always saying it's a month. Wait, even look at my car. I don't know what to do next.
    I just can't keep throwing money at this car. When I have extended warranty,

My car is going but it’s not going as fast when I accelerate it’s actually going at a certain speed it doesn’t go faster I already replaced the cover in this video and it was good for a few days then the light came back on and it started going slow again like it’s forcing itself? Doesn’t anyone have any idea ?? I need help no one knows what it is ??

      Going through the same issue replaced the cover replaced the Cvvt The light came back on after I had it replaced losing power. But when I stop at a red light. I have my foot on the brake they're car feels like it wants to go I have to hold the brake down Hard to keep it From Wanting to surge forward. And I'm getting gas in my oil. I had the oil change 4 times only drove the car a 1000 miles, Don't know what to do because all the dealers around me Are telling me they're backed up like a month Wait To even look at the car. Add the card at the dealer already. Sat there for a month, they did a low bearing test. They said everything was good.
      At the engine cleaned 3 times. Bought the car a couple months ago 2016 Hyundai sonata sport 2.4 l. With a 110000 miles on it. For 13000. Ever since I had the car, it's been sitting in front of my house or in the shop and no one can figure it out I've been doing a lot of research online. Never been so stressful in my life dealing with this car., Crazy thing is.
      This is the first car payment I ever had in my life. And this is the worst car I ever had.
