    I have always been a huge Honda fan. They have always set the benchmark in durability in their machines. They are WAY more 20 plus year old Honda machines out there in good running condition than any other brand. To bad durability and reliability are now set aside for horsepower and speed. The market today just wants to go super fast for a while and then buy a new machine when the old one falls apart. For me ill take something that has a few less horsepower and will last forever instead of something with the most horsepower and have to buy a new one a few years down the line.

    I bought the 700-4 4 months ago. It grows on me every day. There has not been one hill I couldn't make it up. I just pulled a 2000 pound rock across my yard the other day with no problems. Love this machine! I debated getting the Polaris for months. So glad I got the Honda. I sleep good at night.

      Just bought the 700-4 last month and it’s a goat. Wet muddy hill, grade had me wondering if I was going to flip over backwards and the Honda climbed it up out of a muddy creek.I’m in love now. Its stock. It’s awesome.

    I have a 15 year old Honda 4 stroke trimmer. Oil has been changed a couple times and it has been tuned once or twice. I can see it running for at least three to four more years. Can't beat a Honda when it comes to quality. They aren't always the fastest or lightest, but they'll still be there 20 years down the road/trail/a few million lawns...

    when was the last time you seen a 20 year old polaris quad in good shape? I had a fourtrax 300 out at the farm for 20 years and rode that thing into the ground. it never never ever hiccuped once. it wasn't locking diff or irs or power steering but it was a great reliable quad for a long long long time. thats why i would buy another honda. don't have to replace it in 5 years.

    I'm sick & tired of fixing problems on my 2006 Yamaha Rhino, this week it was fixing exhaust pipe cracks. It's time for a Honda. I have a 2002 Honda Rubicon and NOTHING has ever broken or needed mods. Time to get a Honda SxS and ride all the time instead of fixing half the time.

    Mark is well spoken and does a great job with this review. This review had some influence on my decision to purchase the Honda. The engine has just the right amount power and torque for me. If you want a racer you have to go to a Polaris or Can-Am. I opt for a comfortable, steady and reliable machine and the Pioneer delivers.

      No doubt Kawasaki is a great product. What specially didn't you like about the Pioneer to trade it in?

    • @RyanMonroe0910
      @RyanMonroe0910 9 лет назад

      Todd McLean The power difference is very noticeable in the Teryx and the teryx isnt anything crazy. the rear diff on the pioneer is noisy, the front end bottoms out easy, the seats are neat how they fold out the bed but if you load, say fertilizer in the bed or even corn for deer hunting it clogs up the seat and and its not good for it. its loud at idle as well. physically the rear diff is very small, didnt seem like a heavy build. the teryx is absolutely a blast

    • @twmclean1
      @twmclean1 9 лет назад +1

      Ryan Monroe
      Thanks. I like the Teryx very much, own a Kawasaki motorcycle too. What steered me away from the Teryx was price, a few thousand more than the Pioneer and size and width. The Pioneer fits my existing 5X10 trailer whereas I'd have to buy another trailer to move the Teryx around.
      The power is adequate for me but I see the point how others would like more. I'm just taking my family out for rides and doing a little work around the house. The Pioneer really shines in that perspective.
      Thanks again

    • @ryanolep1078
      @ryanolep1078 3 года назад

      @@RyanMonroe0910 you have to compare the Honda talon to the Teryx. For me it was the can am HD8 double cab the Polaris 570/1000 double cab or the pioneer 700-4.

    I just bought a Honda 700-4 and love it, it's definitely a Honda and works,operates and runs great. I gotta be honest, as compared to my ATV, this thing feels like a glorified golf cart because the seats are more like a bench and less like a bucket. I'd say this is a cross between a performance side-by-side and the Kawasaki mule, still, the kids LOVE it and the rear seats/bed versatility is the feature that made this decision easy. You can find a vehicle that seats 4 and has a bed, but the wheelbase is really long...this wheelbase is short & nimble and the choice in rear configuration is truly innovatively awesome. Beyond that it's a bit basic, no rear view or side view mirrors, no horn, only one setting for headlights (no high beams), the shifter (D N R) doesn't operate very smoothly, you have to fight with it a bit...but still this thing is a blast and I can't stop my kids from riding it all over the place. We bought it for the 10-acre avocado farm but the kids already want to hit the desert, forest and other trails. Three much fun (comes after two much fun) : )

    Traded a new Ranger after 6 months for one of these. A hi/lo range would be nice but quite frankly I haven't found an instance when it would have made a difference in the real world (a testament to the usefulness of a torque converter?). After trade I couldn't think of a single thing the Ranger (specifically the 500 EFI special edition) could do better than the Honda. Like the reviewer said, there is something intangible about Honda quality. There is no one stat that make the machine shine, but all the little details sure add up. Now when will we see a sport SxS?

      I had a Can-Am commander 1000. It was a 2 person and awesome machine, I was looking into getting a Pioneer 1000 and wish I would have gotten one. I was on some nasty trails and had Pioneer 1000’s go by me without a problem while my Can-Am was on the sidelines trying to dry the belt. I also really like how the Pioneer can be automatic or manual transmission. I rode in a friend’s Pioneer and the ride and control was unbelievable. Overall just a great machine! The Can-Am would outrun the Pioneer, but the Pioneer had a lot more quality in its build and again the automotive transmission was the best part. I wish I would have gotten one instead of the Can-Am.
