Lol, these kids are not going to get what you're showing them. They only know software keyboards. I remember 64 voices and 128 voices keyboard and having to know MIDI and to assign voices to each sound. You are more Old School than I thought. Great video and great job. 😁👍
Bolo: I was hoping you could help me out. I have: - Jupiter XM - MPC One Plus - Also have Logic M1 mac mini, M2 Mac Pro A. I love the XM and do not want to get rid of it but want a larger keyboard and link with it. B. Want to link XM to Jupiter or Juno and expand performance capabilities. C. Want to connect XM to MPC as you have shown. What is best in your opinion: 1. Purchase the Jupiter X - don’t need to learn another keyboard, more costly 2. Purchase Juno x, portable, less expensive, need to learn another keyboard 3. Trade in the MPC One plus and get the MPC 61 Key - like the portability factor of having MPC one/xm 4. Re-Purchase Akai MPK261 - owned two before and traded in due to lack of use but did not own xm or mpg and used with DAW I have spent hours and hours just seeing if anyone runs two Jupiters together and cannot find evidence of this. I know you are busy producing but I trust u straightforward advice. Thanks.
Side bar this also can be done in the Jupiter X editor honestly I’m thinking of buying a older surface pro just to connect to the X/XM just to have a cheap visual layout I’m glad u touched on this it took me a day to figure this out after watching your first beat making video with the X and u mentioned the honorable c note showed this was possible
Hey Man. I was just on your live re: machine. I want to donate but don’t know how. Thanks for your hours of succinct and real commentary, expertise and mentoring
One thing I know with a bolo video is you gotta skip the first 2min to get to the video 😂 I’m an impatient man and some people appreciate vocalizing things more than me
Related Subject - have you used your Jupiter / MPC in controller mode? I ask because I can't get my Jupiter to show up as an Input Source in the MPC desktop software even though it shows up correctly as a source in every other DAW (Live, Logic, Audio MIDI Setup) on my Mac. Switching the Jupiter from Vendor to Generic USB Driver doesn't make a difference. One other point - the Jupiter will show up as a Source via USB when plugged directly into my MPC in Stand Alone mode (as in your video), but in Controller Mode it doesn't matter whether the Jupiter's USB is plugged into the Mac or the MPC, it's not in the list of Input Sources. I've worked around this using using DIN MIDI but that's an ugly Kludge :(
