I don't say this often but I'm really happy with this beat and this video. The MPC Key 61 is a great machine for this type of workflow and the fact that had to go through a few records to find samples for this just made the process even more satisfying. You can get pretty close to your creative vision with a sampler and a few records - That's a fact :D
This track will be released on an upcoming project in its entirety but this is one of those beats I kinda can't get enough of myself.
I might change the title from "I made my favourite beat this year" to something less obnoxious whenever I'm back down to earth but this just feels right at this moment.

I really liked the fact that you showed us the whole process. How you started the beat, made another video, and the came back, looked into different vinyls and found what you needed. I think this is way more interesting than other videos were producers edit lot's of bits and just show the final product 👌
Thanks so much for saying this! I love making this type of “content” and it’s great to hear that it’s appreciated!
What @felipe F said! 🎉🎉🎉
@@AccurateBeats I love that you showed even the ideas you didn’t like and didn’t use. Most other RUclips producers edit those bits out and when you listen to music from industry producers you only hear the finished products and you don’t see the process behind it. When you make beats yourself and you try ideas that don’t end up working it’s easy to feel discouraged and like you’re not good enough. This inspires me to keep going in those moments instead of just leaving the beat. You’re an inspiration! Also - incredible beat🔥
@Felipe Ain't nothing like that come back love on your work lol
This really impressed me. That was really cool. Very talented. Can’t believe you made such a cool song from those samples. Wow.
Truthfully, all of those chops sounded fire to me & would've worked but the time that you took to find what sounded right to you is what a music producer does! They get it right by investing the time! Solid as always bro!
Thanks for saying so!
I agree completely. The creativity lies in the choices we make. Scrapping ideas is just as important as keeping them!
I’m happy with all the choices I made here and I’m stoked to see the positivity in the comments here too.
Thanks for watching!

Watching many videos today before picking this kit up next week. THE HATE by some on youtube! OMG. Yet, here we are again, seeing a beast of a station that is EASY, clean, and fun! At the current retail of $1500.00, and 2nd hand/b stock, demo models under $1300 down to $1100? Almost a no brainer! Super excited. Hope you are still loving your Key 61.
FINALLY!!!! Someone using the Key 61 like a real Old School Sampler Workstation!!! This is how it is supposed to be used!!! Sick of all the videos comparing it to Fantom/Kronos/Modx…. Don’t care… they’re not SAMPLERS
Thanks for saying so!
I kinda agree - this is the way this product is made to be used and I’m stoked that you appreciate the video.
Thanks!
Fr I was trying to find someone using it like an old EPS or ASR 10 and finally I did and now I’m gonna get it. Fuck a workstation I got vintage Roland’s and korgs when I need synths but I need a reliable sampling keyboard for live use
Fruity cap is beating below the desk with his right hand!
Fantastic breakdown, video&edit - and the beat itself is beautiful.
Solid work!! I like chopping and manually playing the chops to a pre-made pattern to make them fit as it challenges the process and flow. Thanks for sharing!!
Dope!!!!!!! Always so impressed by the quality of your music!
That's some heat right there! Glad to see your doing good.
He's beating with his right hand below the desk!
Great video. I love seeing you go through the process of making great music. Love the scratches at the end too.
🙏 means a lot!
This is so cool and inspiring! Thanks for this man ! Loved this!
Love the way you recorded this and the helpful tips. I’m a big believer of walking away and returning later with fresh ears. The beat as usual, DOPE! 🔥
Thank you!
I agree 100%! Takings breaks to get some perspective is definitely helpful for most creative situations. Thanks for enjoying the video!
Amazing video and beat, love it. The vocal chop and the sound fx chop are really cool and perfect for the beat.
Thanks! I love how this one came out. I rarely keep the bass in the sample but this time it worked out just fine.
Thanks for watching!
Incredible beat. Super impressed, as always!!!
I totally get what you mean by chopping by bassline. Sometimes it's necessary when the bass is grooving
Love this great video and beat and appreciate the scratching too 🔥🔥🔥you look like you’re a master on the key 61. I’ve just bought one so looking forward to using it soon when I have time 😂
Good stuff bro. I need to commit to using my 61 as well. This definitely inspires ideas. Keep em coming. 👍🏾✌🏾✊🏾
I think this is the first video to show old school sampling techniques on the mpc keys and to play the sample across the keys. Thanks
Yeah, I haven’t seen many videos like this on the key61. Glad you enjoyed it!
Facts. I hope he does more of these
For a non keyboard player like me it looks like an mpc with keys in the way. For someone talented like you the value of this form factor makes sense. It's a beast of a workstation.
It is a beast! And it’s also an MPC with a keybed (plus a bit more).
It’s not a product for everyone but it’s the perfect fit for some users for sure.
Thanks for watching
Loved it it gets like that sometimes every song is never really finished you can always find a short melody or an effect that can fit right in an empty pocket. Peace ✌!!!
Thank you for this! Dope beat, great breakdown of what's going on and got me inspired! Peace!
Thanks! It sounds like the video had the effect I was going for 😀
Beautiful man, you're the only one who helped me
I absolutely loved the beat! Thank you, Accurate.
Thanks David! i appreciate that
This video sold me on this. Bought a Key 61 today!!!!!!!!!!!! Im geeked. Lol
I was waiting on someone to make a beat video like this with this machine
Glad you found this then!
love the vibe on this beat
Beat was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥!!
Damn.. I'm in love with this machine!
You ALWAYS deliver bro! You're looking good, strong...and blessed. Lol, I told a friend of mine that you remind me of Scott Storch, maybe ya'll are cousins or something 💯🙏🏾 cause you just be doing tha damn thang! Mahalo for sharing ✌🏿
Best info in the game! Appreciate you!
Thank you
This one is an absolute vibe ❤
Love ur red beanie too man, gotta buy myself a couple ones too for winter!
Thank you!
It’s definitely beanie season around here by now and keeping the big old head warm is never a bad idea :)
Love it!
I wouldve definitely have quit on that beat at that point when you were trying to add the strings, piano etc. Goes to show sometimes going back to the records is always a good idea, great work and beat came out real dope! Glad i came accross your channel
Very atmospheric beat. 👍🏿 Thank you
Glad to see you are doing good man. I know you had a minor/major setback a few years ago. Stay up.
Thank you!
Yeah, I went through some stuff but that’s all behind me by now.
Thanks for watching!
Simply......🔥🔥🔥🔥
Man that 61 is a beast
That entire 7:10 - 9:00 section is producer life in a nutshell. Lol
Somedays are like cable. 3000 options and still nothing. 😂 #felt
This was interesting. I really like the result🙌
1) sample flipping is great!
2) stage piano and some brassy sound were not too vanilla for this beat imho
3) lighting setup for this video is amazing, this is that kind of video where image, colors, lights and music make a superb vibe, great work!
Thank you Ivan! I really appreciate that and you might be right about the other parts I tried out. I’ll rethink this when I’m finishing the track
thats a crazy ass beat well done
🙏🙏
The final beat was fire 🔥🔥🔥
Good shit!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Whew! All that work paid off in the end
It almost always does. Just keep at it
Nice one, cool trax you pulled from too.
Thank you (as always)
super vibe bro.
Luv it!!!👊🏽✊🏽
My 1st beat machine was an ASR-10 so im definitely intrigued with this form factor. At the moment Im watching videos trying to make a decision between getting this or the MPC X since i already happen to have the MPK261 controller.
Bro that's a sick sample
favorite beat making channel 💯
❤️❤️❤️
Amazing! So fresh! 🍄
Thank you!
Great video, loved the outro jam.
Thank you! I love hearing that
It’s wild that Akai/Numark never made something like this in the legacy MPC era. An mpc with keys built in. I remember the fantom having pads but sampling on the fantom?? Ehhh. mpc chopping and sequencing was unmatched in this era.
Always enjoy your vids.
🙏
That was awesome to watch - could I please get a bit more info about your setup? - I’ve currently got a MacBook Pro with Logic Pro X, Reason 12 and an Akai mpk249 (so I’d probably have to sample the clips into logic or reason to then chop them and route them to the mpk249?) and would absolutely love to sample vinyl and create beats like that
Så fint. Å inspirerande att se, även om man inte är musiker. ❤
Tack! Superkul att höra!
Fantastic session!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks!!!!
Really dope! I watched most of your videos great music 🎶
Thanks! I appreciate that :)
I wanted to hear a little bit more of the horns.. but you make everything sound awesome. I could picture my self bumping your music in my low rider
This is so awesome!!!!
❤️
Hi nice video!! -I can't help to ask, what about vocals? Are there any vocal fx's such as hardtune, vocoder, harmonizer etc? Best regards Thomas, Aalborg, Denmark
Dynamite!
fire!!!!
hey AB
hope your doing well im comming from maschine and just got the akai key 61 my question is with the akai expansions... with maschine expantion packs if you have a kit with drums and pads or key one shots you can tap that pad then hit pad mode and spread that one sample across all pads and play them across all keys doea akai do that? thanks accurate
You could use the stage piano as background support, and bring a sax in for the main soloist.
100% right. Maybe I’ll incorporate some of that in the final version of the beat
I'd love to use an MPC 61
🔥🔥🔥🙌
Dope
That beat is so dope!!!
Thank you!
So basically, its an AKAI MPC live 2 with a built in keyboard?
Very nice
🔥🔥🔥
What is a good turntable to use with the 61 keys?
Nice dude 👌✌️
Great sounds and arrangement. Work flow on mpc is a bit hectic but interesting. Wouldn't you prefer logic or ableton over ?
Love the new and improved intro.
Thanks!
Sure! I guess this could’ve been made on pretty much any daw or sampler. I prefer this kind of workflow though… It just seems to get the best out of me 🤪
Thanks for watching!
Hi bro what's the name of first vinyle ?✌❤✊
How do you hook up your turntable to your keyboard? What course do I need because we try to find how to hook it up but we did not see it. Please let us know.
Can you use the keyboard when live sampling instead of the pads? I like to use the slice function and I would love to use the keys instead of the pads.
The 2nd. on that vinyl is Spanish gypsy by Luis Garcia. I have it on CD comp by Joe Claussell.
That beat came out really good! I wish we could hear it with the different pitches too
Thanks!
Me too 😜
Sago Accurate 👏👏👏
banger bro
Thank you! 🙏
Do you know how to install mpc expansions inside the mpc key 61 without a computer?
P s bro, one love !
yoooo what record is that sample from ?
great job
Thanks!
👍🏾
Hey man can you try the 1010 black box it's a sample power house
Fett beat! Bra video! All love
Hey man, do you use a separate audio interface or audio direct from the MPC?
Super
Peace fam. When in sample edit mode, As you audition/play sample chops from the pads, you can see on the screen that the software highlights the chop selected from the pad. If using the keys instead to audition/play sample chops...does the software follow the midi from the keys also or only from the pads?
The pads and the keys behave the same. It’s really cool actually 😉
@@AccurateBeats I appreciate the reply fam
What’s this sample?
😎🤘😎🤘😎🤘
Serious question Mr. Beats. I had a MPC Live and loved it with a MIDI keyboard combo. I switched to the Akai Force because of possibilities with 64 pads and well, I'm not inspired anymore. Should I toss the Force and pick up a MPC Key61?
Hey!
I love the key61 myself but it’s honestly not too far from an MPC Live and a separate midi keyboard. The both devices are pretty much able to do the same things but the key61 feels a bit more inspiring to me. The Force has its own selling points for sure but it’s not really the same workflow.
The price is definitely a factor to take into consideration but I can 100% recommend the MPC key 61. 😀
WHAT IS THAT LP YOU SAMPLED?
Espresso house FTW ;-)
Okay that it! im ordering one today!!!
Great!
Just remember that the music comes from you, through the gear… Not the other way around.
Thanks for watching
Maybe wait till the bugs are fixed...
Akai isnt the fastest in getting there products to a usable state...
@@ickebins6948 is it that buggy?
@@JordySimons At least as far as I know there are alot of bugs but most reviewers dont cover them.
If you like the MPC-"workflow" maybe go for it, if you never used an MPC before be careful.
Benn Jordan has proper videos on it, that might be helpful.
Part 1: MPC Key 61: Impressive, But Frustrating
Part 2: Revisiting The MPC Key 61 and My Role On RUclips
👍🏿 nice
New cam? Or post fx? Looks great.
Yeah, I broke my two cameras the same week and ended up switching systems completely. I still have to adapt to this but I think it looks aight.
Thanks for noticing :)
Is this the fully grown Jenkins?
