I really liked the fact that you showed us the whole process. How you started the beat, made another video, and the came back, looked into different vinyls and found what you needed. I think this is way more interesting than other videos were producers edit lot's of bits and just show the final product 👌
@@AccurateBeats I love that you showed even the ideas you didn’t like and didn’t use. Most other RUclips producers edit those bits out and when you listen to music from industry producers you only hear the finished products and you don’t see the process behind it. When you make beats yourself and you try ideas that don’t end up working it’s easy to feel discouraged and like you’re not good enough. This inspires me to keep going in those moments instead of just leaving the beat. You’re an inspiration! Also - incredible beat🔥
Truthfully, all of those chops sounded fire to me & would've worked but the time that you took to find what sounded right to you is what a music producer does! They get it right by investing the time! Solid as always bro!
Thanks for saying so! I agree completely. The creativity lies in the choices we make. Scrapping ideas is just as important as keeping them! I’m happy with all the choices I made here and I’m stoked to see the positivity in the comments here too. Thanks for watching! Thanks for watching!
Solid work!! I like chopping and manually playing the chops to a pre-made pattern to make them fit as it challenges the process and flow. Thanks for sharing!!
It’s wild that Akai/Numark never made something like this in the legacy MPC era. An mpc with keys built in. I remember the fantom having pads but sampling on the fantom?? Ehhh. mpc chopping and sequencing was unmatched in this era.
Watching many videos today before picking this kit up next week. THE HATE by some on youtube! OMG. Yet, here we are again, seeing a beast of a station that is EASY, clean, and fun! At the current retail of $1500.00, and 2nd hand/b stock, demo models under $1300 down to $1100? Almost a no brainer! Super excited. Hope you are still loving your Key 61.
Love this great video and beat and appreciate the scratching too 🔥🔥🔥you look like you’re a master on the key 61. I’ve just bought one so looking forward to using it soon when I have time 😂
Love the way you recorded this and the helpful tips. I’m a big believer of walking away and returning later with fresh ears. The beat as usual, DOPE! 🔥
Loved it it gets like that sometimes every song is never really finished you can always find a short melody or an effect that can fit right in an empty pocket. Peace ✌!!!
For a non keyboard player like me it looks like an mpc with keys in the way. For someone talented like you the value of this form factor makes sense. It's a beast of a workstation.
It is a beast! And it’s also an MPC with a keybed (plus a bit more). It’s not a product for everyone but it’s the perfect fit for some users for sure. Thanks for watching
You ALWAYS deliver bro! You're looking good, strong...and blessed. Lol, I told a friend of mine that you remind me of Scott Storch, maybe ya'll are cousins or something 💯🙏🏾 cause you just be doing tha damn thang! Mahalo for sharing ✌🏿
I wouldve definitely have quit on that beat at that point when you were trying to add the strings, piano etc. Goes to show sometimes going back to the records is always a good idea, great work and beat came out real dope! Glad i came accross your channel
1) sample flipping is great! 2) stage piano and some brassy sound were not too vanilla for this beat imho 3) lighting setup for this video is amazing, this is that kind of video where image, colors, lights and music make a superb vibe, great work!
My 1st beat machine was an ASR-10 so im definitely intrigued with this form factor. At the moment Im watching videos trying to make a decision between getting this or the MPC X since i already happen to have the MPK261 controller.
Hi nice video!! -I can't help to ask, what about vocals? Are there any vocal fx's such as hardtune, vocoder, harmonizer etc? Best regards Thomas, Aalborg, Denmark
That was awesome to watch - could I please get a bit more info about your setup? - I’ve currently got a MacBook Pro with Logic Pro X, Reason 12 and an Akai mpk249 (so I’d probably have to sample the clips into logic or reason to then chop them and route them to the mpk249?) and would absolutely love to sample vinyl and create beats like that
hey AB hope your doing well im comming from maschine and just got the akai key 61 my question is with the akai expansions... with maschine expantion packs if you have a kit with drums and pads or key one shots you can tap that pad then hit pad mode and spread that one sample across all pads and play them across all keys doea akai do that? thanks accurate
Can you use the keyboard when live sampling instead of the pads? I like to use the slice function and I would love to use the keys instead of the pads.
Great sounds and arrangement. Work flow on mpc is a bit hectic but interesting. Wouldn't you prefer logic or ableton over ? Love the new and improved intro.
Thanks! Sure! I guess this could’ve been made on pretty much any daw or sampler. I prefer this kind of workflow though… It just seems to get the best out of me 🤪 Thanks for watching!

How do you hook up your turntable to your keyboard? What course do I need because we try to find how to hook it up but we did not see it. Please let us know.
Peace fam. When in sample edit mode, As you audition/play sample chops from the pads, you can see on the screen that the software highlights the chop selected from the pad. If using the keys instead to audition/play sample chops...does the software follow the midi from the keys also or only from the pads?
Yeah, I broke my two cameras the same week and ended up switching systems completely. I still have to adapt to this but I think it looks aight. Thanks for noticing :)
Serious question Mr. Beats. I had a MPC Live and loved it with a MIDI keyboard combo. I switched to the Akai Force because of possibilities with 64 pads and well, I'm not inspired anymore. Should I toss the Force and pick up a MPC Key61?
Hey! I love the key61 myself but it’s honestly not too far from an MPC Live and a separate midi keyboard. The both devices are pretty much able to do the same things but the key61 feels a bit more inspiring to me. The Force has its own selling points for sure but it’s not really the same workflow. The price is definitely a factor to take into consideration but I can 100% recommend the MPC key 61. 😀
This might be the first Video of its kind I watched to the end. Your (Studio) Setup, techniques and skills are a bit like a mirrror for me. Haha! Thanks man! I could’ve done way more with the strings but it just didn’t feel right for this beat. I’m glad to hear you watched to the end - I know a lot of people don’t have the attention span for that these days 🤪 Thanks for watching and subbing! Much appreciated
Your video was very very interesting, creative and knowledgeable, but I want to find out how to do this myself you click on things so quick that a person couldn’t follow you or know where you were going with it to even show them how to do it because some of us just got into the MPC 61 key and we want to know every step you’re doing can you slow it down just a little bit for us I’ll call you since a master because you definitely are a master at this. Thank you Ivan! I really appreciate that and you might be right about the other parts I tried out. I’ll rethink this when I’m finishing the track
You could use the stage piano as background support, and bring a sax in for the main soloist.
100% right. Maybe I’ll incorporate some of that in the final version of the beat
