If I could configure an MPC for my needs, it would be probably a MPC key 37 with 16 Q-links of the X and the dedicated buttons of the One, not that many outputs, but additional inputs.
Actually that's perfect. The most annoying thing about MPC is Qlinks I still don't understand why they don't include at least 8 knobs just like MPK mini yet the mini has only 1 bank of knobs which weird since MPC Software has 16 and then the live and one got 4. When utilized they can completely change your music and introduce very nice automations. Also it helps with program edit/mixer/sample editing. 8 knobs with 2 banks is perfectly fine if they do it on Live 3/One mk2. I'm using the knobs on Maschine mk3 all the time with instant visual feedback without even touching its present all the time and that's the right way to do it. Push 2 utilize it the same way Akai needs more flexibility.
