@@PCCity-fl6kv The FA-06 has a D-Beam controller. I use it every time I turn the keyboard on. The Fantom 06 doesn't. If you want to use the ZEN engine in the keyboard you may enjoy the Fantom 06. I won't be downgrading to anything else in the Roland lineup at this time. There is a reason that Roland still has the FA lineup still in the lineup after all these years. But everyone has their thing and at the end of the day your tools have to be good for you.
Very well explained, perfect step by step. Same exact process on the Fantom/0 too. Only difference is how you navigate and studio set being called scene now. I use this workflow too, but I been using the mpc software lately. I switch the audio drivers just for I/O access between the interface, Fantom, MPC X, Force…I have sound racks and synths going into each of those, because they all allow me to sequence. The interface is just the bridge where it all gets across…should do it all with a patch bay, but that cable rats nest is serious lol. It’s been print audio and move on for me.

I have a Roland Go Keys 5 and I'm able to do audio over USB on my mpc one plus in standalone. The only catch is I have to select the keyboard as the audio device. I would think that Roland's high end keyboards would do the same. Just thought I'd share that you can do audio over usb with the MPC as long as the device has it's own audio interface.
Thanks Bolo, I've had the cheaper version fantom-06 for a few weeks using it with my MPC ONE. The only problem that I'm having that the fantom-06 is in song mode. I have the split option but I don't see the dual option. Kind of messes up my workflow because I can't use all the tracks. Do you or anyone have any pointers? The fantom-06 seems to have different settings like scenes. I just don't know what would be the alternative to arm split/dual on the FA-06. I have split no dual. I have the MSB/LSB down and the list of sound. Appreciate the videos!! You've been the best teacher by far.
You should be able to buy both live II and fa06 on monthly payments. For sure if you have history with them. If not start small and build a relationship with them. They are cool.❤

I dont get why you are connecting the audio to the Mpc from fa? since you are using Midi Only. is it only just to spare channels on the mixer using the same input for both instruments?
I’ve a Fantom 08 been following your tutorial. However, I’d like to layer 3 sounds for my piano to record into the MPC. I went to Level/Pan and directed all 3 layers/zones to Rx Ch 1. The issue that I have now is that I can’t adjust the volume level per zone individually… As soon as I adjust the level in zone 1, zone 2 and 3 are automatically adjusted to the same level. Anyone who can help here? 🙏🏻
Bolo do you have Ableton? I have Ableton and I want to buy an MPC and use them together. I want to know if MPC can control a Drum Rack on Ableton allowing me to draw midi notes in ableton drum rack and have the playback of those notes trigger the sound from my chopped up drum samples in my MPC. I think you have to use MPC as an external instrument in the ableton drum rack. Other RUclips videos don't go into detail. Other videos show the MPC as simply a controller. Or they show the MPC tracks being routed out to Ableton audio tracks. I want to use Ableton to draw the sequence and trigger the pads of a drum program in the MPC.

I been having the same issue trying to connect my minifreak to my maschine mk3. Ima try these steps. Usually this is a universal setup for midi.
Only think it micro freak can only play one sound at a time (no multiple parts)
