I just realized that doing this live must be super stressful. If you mess up just one note, one beat it'll be messed up the whole song. Even if no one notices it'll be there bugging you.
That second kick at the start of the drum loop wouldve stressed me out for damn sure. She kept up her poker face but you could tell it was bothering her and nearly messed up but managed to save it before that last measure.
Live looping takes tons of balls. Imagine you messed up somewhere in the middle of the song and you have to start it over, or get messed up until the end. No wonder she's nervous :\
I think he/she meant that this track is the one that is the most likely to show up on the radio, for example. As in, it doesn't just sound like a song from a RUclipsr, it genuinely sounds "professional". Impressive, even. Unlike, as is the case with a lot of original music on RUclips, music that just doesn't quite hit that standard.
@@s.a.4570 That's true. I suppose I should have qualified what I said as "it has the sound of a song that could be on the radio". Not that it is actually capable of appearing on the radio. In other words, had this been a completely original song, it could appear on the radio.
I listened to Bobby Caldwell's original of this. His is still GREAT, but then she came up. I said "Blasphemy!", but pulled it up anyway. Totally, totally, glad I did. She's, as I like to say, mesmerizing.
Wow! Her voice *really is that good!* 😮💖 Like someone else mentioned, the loop volume/quality wasn't that great for a live shot, but still right on the mark. Nice job Elise!😁🎵🎶🎵😍
Right? Her album track sounded highly produced. There was so much reverb in it that it could hide vocal flaws. But listening to her in her live performances confirms that she's a top tier talent.
Yes! She sounds amazing live. Good to see a natural and hardworking female talent out there. The drums is just icing on the cake with her haha. I was bobbing my head with the audience at the end too. Woot woot
there's another Bobby Caldwell. played drums for Johnny Winter before forming Supergroup "Captain Beyond" with ex Deep Purple singer Rod Evans and Iron Butterfly's Rhino and Lee Dorman. KICK-ASS! and later formed "Armaggedon" with Yardbirds Keith Relf. check out captain beyond!
I think the loops aren’t the same as what she played live... she rushed the drum loop, but the playback is perfectly laid back. It’s all good, it was probably a smart decision to make sure the loops are in sync.
Homie with the high end zoom lens is just straight missing the point of the whole set. Her voice is good, but it's the musical talent which sets her apart and is why we are all here.
The sound guy is terrible here. Elise did great, but I bet the sound guy was one of those controlling idiots that thinks electric guitars have batteries. Actually happened!
the verses are 7 measures of 4, but the breakdown before the drums is 8 measures of 4. How does "live" looping know how many measures?, how does "live" looping know when to start and stop a part?, how does "live" looping know chord changes? How do we hear her faint vocal in the background while playing drums? PRE-PRODUCTION! NOT LIVE! sorry.
why do people bother with looping? just sequence what you want to play over, and DEVELOPE the song fully, and not be tied to the ridiculous limitations of the loop. just sayin'.
Vocals were pitchy here unfortunately - looks like she had trouble hearing herself - she's got the chops, so get a better sound person next time Elise!
T AN while the live looping is impressive and appropriate for a tradeshow such as NAAM, I agree that her live performances with a full band are more enjoyable. She's most comfortable behind a full drum kit and her fills and improvisations are excellent. When she's in the studio laying down tracks she can play every instrument she wants to like Prince, but she doesn't need the gimmick of live looping to succeed. On the technical side, her recent performance for Jimmy Kimmel is a good example of the practical difficulties of live looping with a live audience.
no, i think that's her biggest selling point: one man band. if she wants it to be less repetitive, have multiple loops ready before playing so she can change loops right in the middle of a song without playing them again. that keeps it from being repetitive. the solution doesn't have to resort to having a live band.
I don't see the widespread appeal of her format. It looks kind of 'talent show' which won't work once people stop seeing her like a high school teenager. I'm not sure if she has the chops to sing over a live band either while still seeming edgy. She's still a long way from seeming comfortable live.
PEOPLE, this girl can't sing. I'm the only one on this planet who can see that and say it. Are you fcking kidding me? Her voice is super common and 9 out of 10 people on planet earth will sing it just like that. But why would you embarrass yourself in front of everybody if you can't sing? She gets credit because she chose to embarrass herself? I don't get it, seriously.
I can hear the nervousness, still talented as ever!!! Go girl
Same. Nervous vocal for sure. But she's incredibly talented. Possibly one of my favourite drummers too. I love her sound and feel.
okay so her hair gestures are included in the song.
HAHHAHA yeah i noticed that aswell! XD
maybe that helps her keep the tempo. If so, it's amazing
Elise Trouw is such a gangster to play this live❤❤❤❤
I just realized that doing this live must be super stressful. If you mess up just one note, one beat it'll be messed up the whole song. Even if no one notices it'll be there bugging you.
Good thing she's perfect
someone else said that too about it being 'stressful'
is that really the specific word for it?

This is her best, most commercial track. It has a nice vibe that showcases her talent, plus a great ending.

@@albertjohnston1026 this isnt her song though haha

I see Elise is keeping it real by doing LIVE hair flicks instead of looping them.
Interesting flex
She knows what the fans want
That girl is an Angel from another dimension. Incredible talent she has.
She’s so talented.😍😍😍😍😍💕
Pure talent, on another level
dude, she nailed those drums in a rhythmic poetry I still can't quite describe, holy shit

I kept waiting for Bobby Caldwell, the awesome drummer to come out.....oh well...a bummer indeed.
She is so amazing.
I have trouble activating 'LOOP' on youtube, but she's mastered it

She seems nervous until she plays the drums...kills it every time
Te amo elise.

Vocals are brilliant. Love the Drumming too.
Drums great, vocals not that much. She is very brave though

Excelente cantas bien
This reminds me of a song of Paul Simon - Call me Al. He also keeps grabbing different instruments througout the video 😂
Wow!! awesome!
nice voice
🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹👍
So glad she still hasn't found a hair tie or banana clip
Works as a prerecorded and nicely mixed youtube video. But live I just rather have a full band to be honest.
Шикарно. .. ... 👍👏👍👏👍👏
Elise you are amazing. Can you do a pocket full rainbows - Elvis. You know in your own way. Would love you see you in Dallas TX
She'll probably never do Pocketful Of Rainbows, but thank heavens she did ... Scary Pockets.
I think the loops aren’t the same as what she played live... she rushed the drum loop, but the playback is perfectly laid back. It’s all good, it was probably a smart decision to make sure the loops are in sync.
Slick
so cute that she forgot to put the snared up and that came through in the loop
Yep. I've made that mistake like 4 times, and I didn't have anything to worry about except for the drumming lol
Who needs a band??
Looks and tallent she has it all if was 20 yrs old she would be my girl forever
She'd be awesome, even if she wasn't drop dead beautiful:)
This is pretty incredible talent for any gender any age using technology to showcase it! I am a huge fan!!
Met a girl Called Karrie 26 years ago that was this hot, and she still is. And likes the Police. And she like my bass.
10 tears ago this wa called practice.
Her boyfriend must be in heaven.
People i need a help! How does she rec these loops? I cant see any pedals!
Mathias Pontes Bussinger ableton live I imagine
One girl army
foo fighters ummmm
Why isn't CNN covering this? Project Veritas is why? Why is that?
Introducing Ridge wallet. Destined for people who enjoy having a rock stuck in their hiking boot, but wanted to relocate that pain to your asscheek.

Who needs a band when your Elise ;-)
Fak me dead.
Очень талантливая 👍
Still can't stop touching that hair!!! Lmao!
How not to be charmed?
1:36 WTF was that!? I mean the rest was awesome, just didn't see that part coming.
the reason is because she plays with looper
Gotta work on the nerves. But a good start.
Sorry timing sucks
One of the hottest woman artist
The sound guy is terrible here. Elise did great, but I bet the sound guy was one of those controlling idiots that thinks electric guitars have batteries. Actually happened!
She too expert but can't handle the audience... she's like she consumed a Emotionless-Potion.

Nah man Ableton live, you can preset every thing
why do people bother with looping? just sequence what you want to play over, and DEVELOPE the song fully, and not be tied to the ridiculous limitations of the loop. just sayin'.
sound level suck

Better fitting in-ear monitors would also help
She would be better off with a band at this point the loops are kinda getting old and repetitive.

Agree..
70% beauty
30% talent
Ps. I still love her
More like 50/50.
You're a 100% a. H!
only the hair thing is what makes me cringe
She's not really singing the song, just like she's not really playing any musical instruments. Online meet offline.
