Im not a drummer and thought is it just me? It was recognisable in the first 10 sec before the visuals came on. Thought it sound way off. But again, not a drummer, so maybe on purpose?
I'm glad to hear the timing hesitancy in the improvisation! I always thought it was my own incompetence when my timing would falter when I would improvise, but seeing her, and knowing she's competent, and hearing that, it makes me feel better about myself.
Shouldn't musicians communicate visually while improvising along a song? He didn't looked at her once, while she's laying a steady beat for him to toy around on strings!
You've probably heard the expression 'you throw like a girl'. I've seen girl drummers who drum like girls, it just looks stiff and funny. Elise however just makes it look and sound effortlessly cool, amazing talent there! Zane is pretty good too lol
She can hear him... and he can sort of hear her. It was about 120db in that area of NAMM so she had the headset since his guitar was pretty low in the amps. So yes and maybe not in some spots. But that's the joy of NAMM.
To be fair to Zane, he's about 30 feet away from her in the sun section of NAMM that is over 100db of pure noise. That he could hear her at all is close to a miracle.
Hey Benjamin. This was at NAMM which is a music trade show. Two different booths one being a drum booth and one for Veritas Guitars. So it was actually extremely lucky that they could play together as you normally don't have a drum booth and a guitar booth right besides each other. But yes, not ideal, especially considering the noise level in that room was over 100 db's, but that's why God invented headphones. Right?
Elise is awesome, I kinda dig Zane's playing, but I also want to rip the stupid man bun out of his head, and WTF with the pretentious fingerless gloves and scarf, just sayin'.
