It is so deceptively crazy how fast Elise is on those drums!!!! Thanks for sharing this great tidbit about the different ways to apply techniques!!!!!👍
Agree, I really dig her feel. I can hear some Jimmy Chamberlin in her playing here. Like Jimmy, she has a kind of airiness to her playing, especially when playing ride grooves. I think it comes from a combination of note placement, sound choices and also having a relatively light touch. Great stuff!
@@thrashingpanic When you see something, it's only the shadow of the «real» thing. If you see the shadow of a horse, it may be something more special: a zebra. So when you see a YT video where someone demonstrates something don't narrow your thoughts too early, she may have many other talents.
@@christophegragnic8681 Oh, ok. I thought it might be something about not judging a person and their history when you can only see a little fragment of them, not knowing what's behind - here it would be about not appreciating the amount of work she did and just saying "yep, she's talented".. But this is going almost to the Plato's Cave 😉in a way, so I like your zebra more. Thank you 🙂
This is mainly to do with the information age and musicians being able to get anything/info they want at a click of a button. The bar has risen, and I dig it.
Elise is pretty good at everything but I feel like her drumming skill is massively understated compared to everything else. Every time she's on the kit I always want to hear more. Never plays anything super crazy but she's just got a great feel.
I don't really get her as a drummer. The things she does on Instagram are not really my thing. Like high quality videos with lots of sampling and looping. BUT she obviously enjoys what she's doing and she's inspiring other young people to maybe pick up the sticks and start learning the drums and for that I highly respect and admire her.
No 6 is a great warmup; I tweak it to: rllrrl rrlrll rrlrll rrllrrll rrlrll Bonham had a cool fill with the rrlrll - all 'l's on snare, all 'r's cycling from tom to floor like ttlfll ffltll Very versatile rudiment.
I'm not a drummer (came here just for Elise!), but I have a question. If you are hitting the same drum (snare, for example), does something like "R L L R R L" sound significantly different from "R L R L R L"?
Usually drum rolls come out sounding different since they can have an entirely different velocity and cadence to how the sticks interact with the drums. But as Anika Nilles and many others have shown, you can alternate between singles R L R L and doubles RR LL and have them be indistinguishable between one another!
and if you get these different sitckings on the drum set, than you do get different musicality, fill sounds and stuff. Learning rudiments opens up for new ideas and music, making you even more open handed.
Note: When you change it from the first duple-based example to triplet-based it’s no longer a 6-stroke roll. The first example IS a 6-stroke roll. Everything else Is triplets with different stickings.
LOVE Elise's TALENT, however- IMHO: the ride beat is more jazzy than rock, the same with a standard Six roll. But that's just me. NOT hating, just getting in the weeds.
Yes, exactly what Drum Channel needed.... some good old clickbait. Let's masterclass with someone who can barely keep a sloppy drumming sort of steady. That's exactly what new generations crave to be inspired by. No hate on Elise, just the truth.
The best part about this video is that she is playing the drums by just playing the drums. No dancing or awkward smiling, like 90% of other women playing drums on RUclips do.
Everything drumming wise is great! (Kinda) no offense but it's a little bit upsetting (kinda) to see for a (kinda) non English speaker how the language is (kinda) downgrades with all those "kind of" additions to it :)))

So much precision, and so poised. Thanks for the demo, Elise
She makes it so easy to understand, the exicution is on you. But she rocks, been amazed by her talent for a quite long time.
She's got great feel. She plays delicately yet confidently. She's got massive control over her velocity too.

🥺🥺😭😭 PLEASE DON'T DELETE THIS VIDEO; WE LOVE IT TOO MUCH!!!!
love how her kit sounds
I love simple and effective techniques. This is surely one.
You're a talented musician indeed. Love your music videos that lay out all the instrument tracks.
she's amazing!
Elise could also do masterclasses on guitar, keyboards, vocals, sequencers, loop machines... Some people have more than their fair share of talent!
The shadow of the zebra has no stripes!
No doubt she has put her hours in on all of those instruments to get to where she is at!
@@christophegragnic8681 Sounds slick :) What does it mean though? I mean it - I know it's something about talent but what do you mean by that?

Well done, drummer! Brava!
So much talent and beauty in one person 🌈
Congratulations 🗽
Good lesson, thank you. That floor tom sounded sweet.
Great foot work with keeping the hi hats going.
The six stroke inversion is a great idea! One of my go to variations is RLLKKL and then playing it in sextuplets.
This Paist ride is awsome !!!
Love her music, talent and beauty. She’s the total package.
A nice jazzy feel. Great job in the pocket .
Drumming has never been so beautiful
Love it!...great playing and your kit sounds amazing👍
Her feel and fluidity are light years ahead of where mine were at that age, very mature player.

Thanks so much for this‼️onto it right now ✌️🌻
Great musician! Thanks!
Great explanation - thank you very much, please more of these short lesseons.....!
Is that the Dunnett Titanium snare? (sounds also great)

Same! I just found her through a Travis Barker tangent, and I'm left wanting more drumming from her. She's so damn clean with her playing.
Its probably because this is the height of where she is drumming-wise. Nothing wrong with that either.
Elise trouw ...merci j'apprécie vraiment votre style est tres agreable💐 ...cool merci ....🥁dd 🎶
So much talent (and hard work of course)
I like her Sound on Drums. It’s loose and with a lot of feel.
Nice approach

Definitely one of my favorite young artists. Love the setup. I play Pearl and Paiste too. 😁🤙🤙
Fun stuff!! Thanks
Thank you Elise. . .
Great lesson, gunna try this out!
Nicely done!! Love your work.
nice bounce! The stick playing is not bad, too!
Awesome! I really want to see an Elsie and DJ Shadow collaboration.
Fantastic
Yesss!!! Elise you rock!!!!
Perfect 😊
Молодчина!!Красиво получается!!ЛАПОЧКА,прям!!!
that kick!
Fun!👊🏽
cool lick , I will steal it LOL :)
Sweet young lady playing so gracefully and well educated with a great future : )
Good lesson. I can't imagine how she gets any leverage with her left foot. But it seems to work for her.
I need rankings of all the great drummers
Flip the beat! yeah!

love ya elise 💜
A master of her instrument, geez.
It's what she does!
Dang you're good!
Really sorry I missed out on this. I have SO many questions.
Very jazzy
What is the name of the wrap on your kit?
Hey what’s that ride cymbal thar?
Kia Ora.
I think I'm in love.
„Hi, I’m Elise. Let me trouw a couple of rudiments at ya.”
Nice. Love.....
I'm not a drummer (came here just for Elise!), but I have a question. If you are hitting the same drum (snare, for example), does something like "R L L R R L" sound significantly different from "R L R L R L"?
It usually does but if you can make them sound the same then you may as well debut as a pro drummer because its deceptively difficult
Usually drum rolls come out sounding different since they can have an entirely different velocity and cadence to how the sticks interact with the drums. But as Anika Nilles and many others have shown, you can alternate between singles R L R L and doubles RR LL and have them be indistinguishable between one another!

Genial!! 🥁👏
which nail polish is this?
what a little talented cutie pie....................a good lesson, thanks
the pink sticks and the red nail polish prove the old adage... "Chicks can Rock" is paraphrased a bit but you get the gist
Only an idiot would think they couldn't.
Great teacher !!!!!!!!! awesome player!!!!!!!!!!! too much beautiful woman!!!!!!!!!!
Hello I’m Duncan
my god she is so beautiful
That tiny drum set screams Big Band. Buddy Rich. Jazz.
💪
Love how she doesn't overplay theres too much of that these days
she is something
She must be protected at all costs.
Top 👌👍
Sa•Weet! 🎶
well..i've missed all she was talking about) that's not that good idea to have such a beautiful teacher))
It appears that those, or at least some, who can can teach, too.
Snare ?? Sound beatfl 🇹🇷🌹
👀😍😍😍
Sit up straight
Video drum battle eric moore vs mosakoli mojo caleb binene 😍 ❤
I don't know why but it sounded like something that Ian Paice does a lot....
From what I've seen of her, her strength definitely lies with drums IMO.
I agree but she also has an amazing feel for song writing and composition.
Very cool video! We need more woman power. Great!!!
Hey, can we see an interview with drummers Kofi Baker and Jeff Sipe. Cheers
Rudiments are easy for you. Your rhythm😂 are synchopathic
😄👍
👍👍🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
she is beautifull...

Youre too beautiful to slouch
Mugatu: Hot girls playing drums, so hot right now.
elokkk

It's just rudiments. Master the snare drum and you will have a big tool box.
Is there anything she can't do?
Beats too simple.....
