Awesome!!! Thank you so much!!! I went to two shops that said they couldn't fix this problem and one shop said they could BREAK my grill and replace the cable for $1200!!! That $1200 wouldn't replace the grill, just get the new cable in!
Again, thank you SO much for your video!!!

You must have incredibly strong fingers - I can locate the mechanism but cant move it ??

you are correct I only lost the left side cable. Parts guys and I talked and the right fails the most.

to get the grilles out you need to use couple pieces of plastic to gently pry them out.

If you lose the cable from inside.

you pull on them firmly an be careful not to break them.. I took my time and I used a trim tool a little bit.

Although this video was helpful , the issue with the one I worked on was rust causing the latch to seize and not spring back as it should when the hood release was pulled. So I had to get creative to get it open. Looks like new cable and latches to fix this one.

I thought about that I use a silicon based grease on my latches to help prevent or reduce that chance of it happening.

So it could be seized up! Get a can of lubricant with an extension nozzle and spray onto the mechanism.
Have someone push down gently on the hood to relieve some of the pressure.
There maybe a piece of cable still in the mechanism preventing your form moving the mechanism by hand..
I hope those suggestions help and thank your for the comments
