Honestly I always loved the coaches award in high school. The award that went to the hardest worker, best encourager, contributed to locker room culture, on time, on task, promoting hard work to make teammates better, unselfish in what’s best for the team even if they have to sacrifice their own position or stats. That kind of award would be awesome!

I think that’s stupid. Luka isn’t the mvp this year because he showed he’ll put up 33-9-9 regardless of if the team around him is good or not. And what I mean by that is they stunk for more than half the year and y’all just ignore that, and defense was a big issue which Luka is a problem on. Oh yeah, Luka lead the league in turnovers by almost a whole turnover and he lead the league in usage rate by a huge margin. His stats are more brute force than a sign of winning basketball. Meanwhile Jokic is putting up 27-12-9, has his team fighting for the top seed all year, keeps the ship afloat during injuries, all that. imo, Jokic’s season is WAYYY more fitting of MVP players, and Lukas is more “I’m gonna get mine no matter what, and maybe we win the game” I also think their late season turnaround is more due to Kyrie playing better and their new players than it is Luka who is putting up the same 33-9-9 that he was when they stunk. But thanks for coming to my Ted talk. I just don’t see why we should give an award to a dude just because his stats are pretty in consecutive years, because in that time his team is .500 so is he really the mvp to his team?
@@eliyarrows2456 I agree 100%. I really don't see the argument for him, other than the Russell Westbrook type appeal of almost averaging a triple double with high scoring. Jokic is clearly the best player in the world.
@@eliyarrows2456 You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Half of his team was injured and he still nearly got as many wins as the Nuggets without playing the last 2 games lol. This is winning basketball.
Someday they will add the Best Shooter Award and name it after Steph. To be fair to Michael Porter, he’s so tall that he can almost always shoot, and he’s a good shooter. I think he’s doing exactly what he’s asked to do.
More seriously about awards : One award that I feel would be nice is a "rising star" award - which is how the MIP is treated today. MIP has been misused these past years imo : we reward already star players who improved their individual stats while It should be used for what it was designed for : reward players who had limited minutes embrace a new, much bigger role. Going from 20 to 27ppg as the 1st option is great, but its not the same as going from 8ppg 4rbg bench guy to 20ppg 10rbg starter the next season (for instance Z. Randolph in 2003).

I watch a lot of Jimmy's videos but this is probably my favorite video I've seen of his. This goes so hard and it shows all the work these guys don't get credit for
Jxmy gotta have the best basketball channel in recent memory.
I WISH THIS GUY WAS MY MATH THEACHER SO BAD!
It’s insane how potent and unique your content is
My awards:
Team play of the year award:
( single-play team award, considering amazement, ball movement, defensive breakdown, off-ball movement, collective syncopated flow of iq, and other stuff )
Single player smartest play of the year award:
( same thing as the listed-above award, just for one person )
Circus shot of the year award
Defensive play of the year award ( could go with a team award and/or single player award )
Most impactful trade of the year award
Make this an annual thing, Jimmy. Again, you never fail to amaze us. Keep grinding.
Sam Hausers 1-18 shooting game has to be up there for the worst of the season too lol
Atleast he scored. Klay put up 0.
@@fxbeliever123True. But that was a reg season based award
@@naf1566 That's a grey zone cause play-in stats technically aren't with playoffs stats
I would add the “I’m just going to take OVER this game” award! For the most “kill-switch engaged” player.
Great vid, Ty for all you do king!!
kyrie is up there for sure, the guy has a higher gear for the 4th quarter but then again i mostly only watched the mavs cause im slovenian so idk😂
I love this series Jimmy. This is now on your yearly rotation.
I love how Jimmy always makes his own headlines.. Comes outta nowhere with a dope ass video about something we weren't even thinking about. NICE...
Thank you for posting
No problem you know I gotchu
Love to see Hartenstein get some recognition. King of the dirty work 🔥🔥🔥
the way he says power forward and then power FORWARD cracks me up 1:12
Don't get the two mixed up
Excellent video!! 👏🏾👏🏾
If you don’t already, did THIS every year!
Today's Fact: The world's oldest video game, 'Tennis for Two,' was created in 1958 and was played on an oscilloscope.

That’s so awesome
But how does this affect Lebron's legacy?
I'm crying at the MPJ part 😭
@9:52 we have jontay porter moving out of the way so he can hit his unders lol
Great video. I'd love to see an award for the player who creates the most problems wherever they go. The athlete who polarizes teammates and creates drama. Just the opposite of the glue that keeps everyone together.
the jordan poole award!
you should make up plaques and offer them up to anybody who wants them. I am sure a player like TJ McConnell would be thrilled to be acknowledged for his hard work this season. I know MMQB used to give out his own NFL awards and lots of players appreciated being acknowledged. However I do admit that half of these awards are not something a player might want to be known for...
This is the only time jimmy presented a question to start the video and I was 100% sure of the answer
You should make this a yearly thing
I think klays performance in the play in game vs kings is the new winner of the worst game award 🤣🤣🤣
I was looking for this 😂
It's wasn't in a "regular season" game, so it wouldn't count anyways.
maan this had so much variety on the players and teams... awards should be always be like this!
Absolutely LOVED all of these awards!! 🎉🎉
Imagine when Wemby actually has help the league will be in trouble 🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️
Adam Silver should just hire you
11:20 “BUT CANT PLAY DEFENSE WORTH A LICK!!” 😂😂
This video was phenomenal
9:52 Jontay Porter playing absolutely no defense on brandon ingram makes total sense now😂😂
Rim Deterrence Award - When your presence is so strong players don't drive to the rim at all or they pass out of it
Award Winner: Rudy Gobert
Runner Up: Wemby
This is part of DPOY already. People care about this.
dude really puts more effort than some players themselves bro
1:05 bro said power forward twice lol
Nice catch. I think you know what he means, though. This content is not very common, and I love this stuff.. and gaining knowledge on any sport or athlete I'm a fan of
@@bamsuchanan Of course. I just find it silly because jxmy makes very well organized content that blows my mind, so when he makes a funny mistake like that here and there it catches me off guard. I'm sure his brain is going a million miles per hour when he makes these videos though.
shhh
it is perfect for us
The emphasis too like he was saying a whole different position
I remember his video about Suns vs Mavericks game 7 he called DeAndre Ayton DeAndre Jordan
Best 2 way player : Kawhi
Most Valuable Robin : JDub
Mr Propre (DPOY / fouls ) : Wemby
This idea is heat we need this every season 🔥
Another banger of a video from Jxmy, what a surprise 😂give this man his own tv channel ASAP
Love you jimmy been watch since 2019
The amount of times ive seen people copy and paste "luka has voter fatigue and he hasn't won anything" from THIS GUYS VIDEOS is absurd!
It was a good line to be fair
I think that’s stupid. Luka isn’t the mvp this year because he showed he’ll put up 33-9-9 regardless of if the team around him is good or not.
And what I mean by that is they stunk for more than half the year and y’all just ignore that, and defense was a big issue which Luka is a problem on. Oh yeah, Luka lead the league in turnovers by almost a whole turnover and he lead the league in usage rate by a huge margin. His stats are more brute force than a sign of winning basketball.
Meanwhile Jokic is putting up 27-12-9, has his team fighting for the top seed all year, keeps the ship afloat during injuries, all that.
imo, Jokic’s season is WAYYY more fitting of MVP players, and Lukas is more “I’m gonna get mine no matter what, and maybe we win the game”
I also think their late season turnaround is more due to Kyrie playing better and their new players than it is Luka who is putting up the same 33-9-9 that he was when they stunk.
Make this every season please, this was GOLD content
Someday they will add the Best Shooter Award and name it after Steph.
To be fair to Michael Porter, he’s so tall that he can almost always shoot, and he’s a good shooter. I think he’s doing exactly what he’s asked to do.
I always wondered about some of these awards existing.
Duncan Robinson's worst game is still better than Klay Thompson's last game😂
Bro really had 2 back to back partnership ads
Needs to be an annual thing. Awesome video. I loved the award names
More seriously about awards :
One award that I feel would be nice is a "rising star" award - which is how the MIP is treated today.
I like that there are really bad awards for terrible things, and positive awards for some players that get overlooked.
You deserve an award for making these videos.
I'd like to give you an award Jimmy.
The "You still can't guard me" award, 3 years running!
I love these awards especially Dennis rodman and 10th man. They give credit to players who deserve it. I hope you do these every year
Gotta say this is some of the best content on the app. Well edited, great narration, and most importantly it’s shit that we wanna hear.
I know everyone and their mother thinks Curry is overated because his rings all have asterisks next to them except for 2022 but man i just hope he gets one more star and shuts the world up
He's definitely not getting another one but the one in 2022 shut most people up
The one in 2022 was a fluke. They played three injured teams and a team with a young Luka. It was a lucky ass ring
@@matthewford3778 agree 2022 chip was nothing but a fluke, one of the mickey mouse rings against jimmy butler children

Jimmy>ESPN
The bar ain't very high with ESPN of I'm being real. Lowkey disrespect to jimmy with this 😅😂
@@theYT_moderator How is it disrespectful when they are a billion dollar company (Disney)

@@TONEakaSHOWI meant it as in ESPN is overrated and sucks so comparing them to jimmy is disrespectful. Twas a joke my boy

here after hartenstein saved game 2 for the knicks with a clutch rebound and block--you sniped that one jxmy
maaan! u r the best by far in analyzig the nba! nobody near u!!!! BIG UP!!!! MUCH LOVE!
Make this video every season. It was amazing
And people been trying to say all year that "Trae's defense has gotten better" lmao
"Getting better" is subjective
It has. Crafted def rating is heavily influenced by team defense. Trae also plays with bad defenders while the other PGs play with a good defensive players that help pad their defensive stats. Look at DEPM a more individual focused defensive stat, their you can see Trae’s improvement from previous seasons, and see he’s higher defensively than players like Halliburton and Dame.
He really has Go watch his games
How is klay second in shot quality for shooting guards😭
Because it’s klay still
Social media brain washed u for thinking hes a bad player but if look at stat he still playing above average on his skillset. Shooting 45/38/92 this is really for a shooting position.
@@AntiMage99 nah I still think he’s good I just can’t believe he’s second and then Steph’s the best so it’s two top tier shot creators on the same team, I just feel like there’s not enough shots to go around.
@@waynerowland9591you casuals fan always bashing Klay and criticizing him like why yall hate him so much he got a acl tear a Achilles tear he is still putting up 17 a game when he is 34 year old still one of the best shooters rn
@@waynerowland9591if anything Thompson is better without curry, he can easily be a first option if Steph is not playing
Zhu Li do the thing
Add this to the list of videos you should do each season! Love it!
We need a “team player award” for the guy that has the biggest impact on everything except from scoring (assists, rebounds, deflections, steals, smart fouls that don’t end up as and1, etc).
We also need a “one man an entire team award” for players that excel on more than the 3 most common stats (points, rebounds, assists) that could also be known as the european award because of giannis, nikola and luka.
I hope we see the Warriors make some trades. I wanna see Curry win one more, his generational talent is still underrated in mainstream media.
Overrated asf tbh but yeah he is 100% a generational talent
How is someone a generational talent and overrated.
@@doxo9597 He is arguably the most influential player of all time. His floor spacing and shooting ability are damn near unmatched. NBA top 75 players of all time have him listed as the 15th best player of all time. Anywhere from 11-19 is a fair spot for him and i agree with him being at 15.. Many people have him in the top 10. This is how he is overrated.
@@theYT_moderatorPeople having him top 10 doesn’t mean he’s overrated. There are very legit arguments for that. I have him at number 10.
Shaq is in everybodys top 10, and he has the same amount of rings, one less mvp, and curry has the only unanimous mvp in nba history. Curry was also the clear leader of his team for all 4 of his rings. Shaq won 3 with kobe. Those accolades on top of the fact that hes the best shooter ever and literally changed the game. Not overrated at all 😂
@@c--money9188 comparing curry to Shaq is wildly disrespectful. Lil bro took the long way to say he's a casual 😂🤡
