Watching Alba growing up in these videos has been like a Hollywood movie of a rising musical star.
Yes, what a rare opportunity that is, not just Alba but all of these young people. And all this would have been impossible without youtube.
Alba, I've been convinced you were on track to reach some stellar heights; it's not just your voice, but your relaxed way of performing that convinced me of that. Now l believe you must already have risen high enough to be able to touch those stars. You're fabulous, absolutely fantastic.
It's a cold day here in Cape Town but your voice warms it up and turns it into spring. The band plays lovely, light and relaxed as well. Every time l hear a performance like this, l thank Joan C for bringing along his charges to this level of musicality and pure professionalism. It's a blessing to experience it.
It's almost like Joan C and his group of amazing young artists just dropped in from another planet, or maybe another galaxy would be more accurate! I mean where did he find, and how on earth did he manage to help develop such a large group of young world class talent? As a lover of Brazilian music they are a gift from the heavens!

From one jazz teacher to another, you are doing an incredible job with your young students. They play and sing like mature adult musicians. I wish I can learn more about your program, but I don’t speak Spanish. Finally. I think Alba could go very far as a singer. Her rich alto tone is so beautiful and her phrasing on both singing and trumpet playing is already professional. Well done sir!

Alba's skill has grown so much over the years and she seems to sing effortlessly. I hope this group did some more songs while together. It's interesting to see Joan Monne on piano - credited as the arranger on so many of these videos.

The day to day drudgery, insecurity, fear, loneliness becomes so diminished by looking into these beautiful faces, listening to their individual offerings into this special collaborative....sure to be an historical perspective when we look back on this time. Deadly diseases can't overpower the supreme goodness of all these incredibly talented musicians who give so unselfishly of themselves. Thank you all, and God Bless You,especially by keeping you safe and healthy.

Para Joan Chamorro, mi padre trabajaba como músico en las noches de Porto Alegre en el estado de Rio Grande do Sul en Brasil. Fue cantante y cantó con Elis Regina, en la emisora de radio (rádio gaúcha) de Porto Alegre, donde empezó como cantante. Mi padre conoció a Vinícius de Moraes, Dennis Brean, Elis, Ermeto Pascoal, Ary Barroso (demasiado grande). Aprendí de mi padre la complejidad y la genialidad de la música brasileña. Conozco la musicalidad brasileña y el idioma, además, mi padre también tenía una gran amistad con João Gilberto, con quien fueron extremos confidentes y amigos. saludos señor chamorro y siga adelante cada vez mejor, a todos les gusta lo mejor.
