    Really helpful for most dark music really not only black metal. So these can pretty much be used in melodic crust, doom, even sludge if you play them way slower.

    The brief episodes of spoonfeeding were very much appreciated ! 6 weeks after picking up my first guitar, I can say with some authority that the information you're providing here is effectively impossible to find elsewhere - from the definition of 'chords', to which scales should be learned - absolutely outstanding lessons, thanks for showing us the left hand path

    Started playing a few years ago, but lessons kinda dropped off the radar recently. Learned quite a bit of music theory, but never really was able to connect the dots between the modal scales and chords for some reason. This video literally solved that problem, thank you for all the time you put into your channel!!

    Man, great lessons ! Hate when somebody just shows what he plays and then just a little slower, expecting everyone to understand and remember ))). You explain theory and fingering and show very slowly that even a giraffe like me get it !

    I find out.
    At 6:10 you are switch between E-Minor and E-major scale. 7th fret on E and 5th on A is the minor diatonic and 7th and 4th is major diatonic.
    Now i understand diatonic!

      Ah, 7th on A and 4th on D has the notes E and F# - sus 2 chord
      E and G# make a major dyad

    Your hair is amazing, but it's gotta get tangled constantly. Mine does and it's very similar. Though it's way more curly in a lot of places so maybe that's why. And I love the guitar! What're the pickups? They sound amazing; there's absolutely no ambient buzzing sounds going on, and I'd really like to install some on my Les Paul.

      Hahah, thanks, I have shorter hair now
      They’re EMGs, the ENGL fireball I’m using has an in built noise gate which helps a lot with feedback, and making sure the volume is rolled down when not playing is also helpful

    So, in A minor (a, b, c, d, e, f, g, a) the diatonic chords you could make would be:
    Minor: a, b, d, e
    Major: c, f, g
    These use the shame finger shapes as you showed.
    Is this correct?

      Yeah that’s right, B changes to B diminished when you add the 5th (B D F)
