I am seriously looking into purchasing/investing in the EM-1010. Your video is the first one I listened to since I've made my inquiry. I'm hoping that my husband is in agreement with me that I may not use it a lot right now, but as I begin to utilize it and advertise what I'm doing, it will pay for itself. I'm working a 9-5 M-F right now and I don't have a lot of time to sew but I figure if I start now, rather slow, maybe it will pick up when I get closer to my retirement date 2027
I’ve been researching the Ricoma EM1010 and came across your video. Very helpful and much appreciated. For me I have patience… marketing is not my expertise so that’s where my hesitation is. lol user issue! lol Thank you so much for sharing. ❤
Many people are jumping into the embroidery business with no experience. I found it easier to learn the basics firstbon a good flatbed such as a Brother first. There is a learning curve such as hooping, stabilizers, toppings, placement etc... That a person needs to learn before jumping to the major expense of multineedles. I read in users groups where people dont understand file formating, digitizing, and how to store or transfer the emb. File to their machine.
I’m completely agree with your opinion, I own EM1010, yes I see a lot comments, wish I believe is user error. I always said training is the key. Ricoma customer portal is the great area to start learning about your machine.
Thanks Kayla. I have been machine shopping for a while and I think that I've narrowed it down. I appreciate your honest review and well laid out advice. XOXO to you.
i compared costs before i got the ricoma mt1501 with brother, it was not much difference in cost here in australia(ive only just got it but the cost was actually cheaper then a brother this past few weeks) and since all my other machines in my business are industrial work horses , to me it just made sense to spend the money on something that i can run for several X amount off hours a week
I’ve had my em 1010 for 5 months I have a full time job so I’m still learning it and I’m getting there little by little. Yea I’ve had tons of needle breaks and thread breaks but as I’m learning and growing hoping to get do this full time. How long did it take you to get were you’re at?
That's a hard question for me to answer because I'm all over the place lol. I've only been doing embroidery for about 3 years. Before that I couldn't figure out what I wanted to do and I tried a bunch of different crafting niches. But I love embroidery. And I'm still learning too! Is there a certain item you're always getting needle breaks on?
I've had a hard time using it for hats! That being said, I see people in Facebook groups and instagram have no problem doing hats with it. It's a great starter machine, but I upgraded to the TC and in my opinion is way better designed for hats.
Size L. I buy these pre-wound bobbins from All Stitch. allstitch.com/collections/prewound-embroidery-machine-bobbins/products/allstitch-cardboard-sided-embroidery-bobbins-size-l-white-1245

How much space do you need for this instrument?
Can you tell me what that stand is on your table that you’re using with the hoop?
That's the mighty hoop t shirt stand 😃
Hi!!! I have the same question. Do you received an answer??
Is the 1010 not that good with hats? That's what I took from the video.

How much cost a new EM1010.?
how did you print out the image you used for placement?
I just print them from whatever software I'm using. I switch between Chroma Luxe and Embrilliance and I just simply hit the print button :)
What bobbins do you use for the EM 1010
