Your story seems a lot like mine when I first got my Ricoma TC 1501. There is so much to learn, that isn't in any video. I received my machine and I had to wait two weeks before the first class and the instructor broke my machine during the class on video. So they had to send a service man to my home and I live in Texas and I think he came from a city in Texas. He taught me a lot of good tips. It took me almost 3 weeks to get someone to listen to the video and see how my machine was broken. I got the video tech assist also before they decided the part had to be replaced inside the machine. I was down the 6 weeks of ownership.
It is complete BS that you had to pay for fixing your machine that is supposed to be under warranty! And to charge you shipping for the part that broke is unbelievable! I'm current shopping for a multi needle machine, this is great info, thanks!
Thanks Brittany, I've been googling like mad trying to figure out which way I turn my top tensioner to shorten my threads! Happened on your video by chance.
Hello Brittany. We have had nothing but issues with our machine. It will run smoothly for a bit and then out of no where tensions go all out whack. Ricoma's customer service is a complete joke. I wish my husband would have done better research before getting this machine. I absolutely hate it. It embroiders so messy in comparison to other machines. I know it isn't our digitizer either. We have tried numerous digitizers and always with the same result. I didn't have my machine up and running for 9 weeks. Yes, 9 WEEKS!!! We have yet to have a month with it running enough to say that it has been paying itself off because it is not the case. Just when we think, great we have a customer that needs several items, this just might be the month we make enough to not have to pay out of pocket, something ends up happening, and I end up sourcing out the job. We have the 1502 and never have both heads worked equally well to say we can run two jobs at the same time. This machine absolutely sucks and their customer service, even more.
Thank you so much for sharing what you learned. The needle tip was fantastic!! I struggle with changing the needles all the time! So happy I found your channel. Now off to watch your past videos. 😀
This was so helpful because i have trouble with my Ricoma but i lnow most of ir os lack of information and operator error. I need to set time aside to talk with them. In the oast, the will send a short video to watch which became frustrating
Omg thanks for sharing this. I definitely need to use the needle to align the needles front and center. I get that bunching on a few of them. Great tips, thank you, thank you!
Great threading and needle tips! I have not been putting my thread behind the little hook! Also trying to set the hole to the front by eyeballing it is hard. Using another needle is so simple!!
This is exactly why I own all Brother Embroidery Machine. This is absolutely a horrible experience. A machine that’s costing you money but is not making money because is not working is ridiculous. I wish you well with dealing with Ricoma.
Brittany, A whole month without my machine I kept telling Ricoma that the videos they were sending me were not fixing my issues they even sent me a email telling me that they wasn’t going to call me to look at the videos and fix it . Girl that got me heated I called back and told them that I wanted a tech and I wasn’t going to look at anymore videos . Finally after 2 days we finally got word of someone that they found a tech in my area . we had a tech come to my house to look at my TC-1501 , the tech was good but he didn’t know everything with the Ricoma machine and I was disappointed about that like you I want someone more informative. He fixed my problem with tape until we get the part which is a Thread Break sensor . I knew it was much more serious then those stupid videos they had me looking at. Anyways good luck .
@@fancyfaceq172 don't give up hope, I filmed this video back in October and had another Ricoma tech come back out a few weeks laters replacing another hardboard.
Basically, all that information was provided in my online training that I received for my MT-1501. I have had my MT-1501 for about a month now. Hoping I don't have the problems you have had with your machine this early into having it. I would have been upset too, about paying for their travel for warranty work!
So did you try to rotate the x axis after the part was changed out? Thank you for that info it’s hard to find especially about tracing the design before installing the hat… my structured hat gets yanked and winds up messing up the machine but you just can’t seem to learn that information anywhere smh Ricoma is f**** trash and there help sucks I can never get a video chat!. Also after I trace I use the other more precise trace tool to the right of it, and when I finally get the position I want the only way to lock it in is either to remember the axis coordinates from the screen or use the trace tool again ughhh which means taking the hat back off!! Any more tips from anyone please?
Hello Brittany. I'm in the Orlando area also and recently acquired a Ricoma from a friend that shut his business down. Is the tech local or nearby? I need a tech to come out and was ticked when Ricoma told me a tech would have to come from Miami and ran down the cost. If not Garfield, have you found one near us?
All techs are sent from Miami, I had both Garfield and Alejandro help with my machine as they don't have anyone local and you'll be paying a pretty penny if they come out. However if you need your machine looked at you might not have a choice.
I am here for the comments. I am literally online trying to buy one of these machines. Is it worth it? and I hear that Ricoma dosnt have good customer service. So how do I go about getting one of these
Thanks for the needle tip! Also will be ordering the silver round plate thingies too. I have been machine embroidering with a home machine for 20 years. I have owned 3 expensive Brother machines in that 20 year period and the last two were nothing but problems. PLUS there was no one available to help me like we have with RACOMA. Now I have the MT1501. What a learning curve! I'll be learning right along with you! I am a new subby!

Yea they only have techs coming out of Miami and I had to pay a pretty penny to fly one out to me to have the machine fixed, which is BT. Although it must be frustrating for you; however, I have learned so much from your mishaps. Thank you for sharing. I believe the best tip regarding the needle placement is by using another needle within the eye of the replacement needle was really helpful. I am happy you were able to get your machine in good working shape.
Thank you for a useful video. I think it's disgusting that you are a new customer buying an expensive machine, then charging you for their expenses. Watch Pamela reed of sterling styles. She has had nothing but problems with a brand new Melco a year ago. Plus she couldn't get anyone to return her calls or help her out months later. It still isn't working.
This has 100% been my experience as well. Our Ricoma 1502 has run into every bad situation possible and I can't get ahold of anyone by phone and they don't call back for days. Funny enough, if you call their sales department they pick up within 1-2 rings, but any customer service after you purchase is a complete joke. Pretty sure we were sent a lemon and this video makes it sound like we have to pay for a rep to come look at it and tell us what we already know.

Go with Braudan, Tajima or SWF. In that order. Please don’t consider anything else. I’m speaking from experience.

You need to realize you paid a lot for a Chinese boat anchor.

What is another machine you would recommend?
Sell it and get a Barudan. Ask ricoma how they feel there machine compared to a Barudan.
Please talk to a lawyer, if you smard
Those are junk Chinese machines, go Japan or Germany for embroidery machines. Go NZK or Tajima embroidery machine.
