when i do harnesses i always like to label each pin and the corresponding color of which color the computer connector is that way you know which wire goes to which color whether its red or blue or green or blue
besides a windows laptop , what hardware and software is required to remove the VATs? if u r only doin one swap is it way cheaper to send it away to someone or get a local mechanic to remove it?
Stand alone harness is to control the motor and transmission on its own. You will tie your gauge wires into the vehicle's gauges or put aftermarket ones in. It allows you to have a fues block just for the motor and transmission.
Can you test the harness without the engine in the car I just wanted to check my fuel pump but ita not coming on relay clicks on on the harness .... or does the computer have to read other components
Hey how’s it going for pins 26 H02s low signal B2S1 & Pin 29 H02s B1S1 ? What would I be doing with those pins, would i be removing them or would they need to stay ? .
@@LonniesGarage okay cool, on LT1 swap you see how it does not highlight pins number 26 & 29 for blue plug. Are those needed or can I removed those from the plug ? ?
Good afternoon, I have a 5.3 with no computer or harness. Suggestions on doing a stand alone , would you recommend going and gettiing one from a junk yard and building it like you did in these videos?
Lonnie's Garage (Puppetkicker) I’m working on a L86 that’s going on a 41 Chevy truck. Do you know of a good source for information on which pins to remove on those harnesses?
Just finished my harness watching your videos. But I'm not sure it's done right. I have a LQ9 and plan to go DBC so im switching my ecu..would this change the pin outs needed? Thanks New Sub.
Hey John I might be a little late to help with your problem but most of the DBW ecms (blue and green plug) do not support drive by cable and you have to check you P/N of your ECM to see if it's supported, I think only the savanna Vans had DBC. Unless you go with an aftermarket ECM you would probably have to look for an earlier ECM with the blue and red plugs all of those ones supported DBC
@@gerardolopez5875 some from like the express/savanna vans. A guy would need to figure out P/Ns to know for sure. I know driveway engineer had a video breaking down the different gen 3 ecms

I need a video like this for the genV
If I wanna buy a harness what kinda info would I need to build one? Or do all work with any engine
So on the website lt1swap do you choose the vehicle you took the harness off or the vehicle that you will be ls swapping?
You need the vechel that the wiring harness came from. It will tell you what every wire does and where it goes.
Great video 👍👍 and saludos 👋👋👋

Yes have someone else do it. Just to do one would be about $1000 to get the software. You can find someone to do it for around $100
I have a 2000 Silverado and trying to put in a 2008 ls2 motor if I stand alone my harness would it work or what is a stand alone harness use for

can i use the harness for my ls1

The fuel pump should kick on for like a coue seconds then off until the motor starts.
@@LonniesGarage yeaaaa maybe I don't have something hooked up right ... I also put my fans on the relay I got nothing either
Is this for swapping a 5.3 into an obs Chevy?
This is for anything you want a stand alone harness on.
Anybody else wearing headphones freak out when they heard the fly at the first of the video?
Yeah that thing was bugging the crud out of me too.
Audiominister lmao heard it right when I read this
I had over ear headphones on and I thought there was a fly trapped in em!
LOL literally jumped thinking a fly was in my headphones 😂

Yes I would. Drive by cable is the easiest way to go

Have you ever done a gen v harness?
No but I don't see why I couldn't if needed

Not sure but I don't see why it wouldn't work if u can find the pinout for it.
