    Wow I'm type 2 and this brought up a lot of childhood trauma that I try never to think about and had me crying because I always feel I have to do for others to be loved 😞 I'm almost 60 and still can't say no to anyone that I feel needs me

    9w8 and have recently come to the conclusion, in my 60’s now, that my mother did not acknowledge my feelings. My dad was loving and listened to me and spent a lot of time encouraging me. He told me once that I can do anything I put my mind to. My parents separated when I was 15 and I never saw my dad again which broke my heart and changed my life. I have a high IQ, am an artist, and have many skills, but still like to hang out on my own. Other people always end up using me and leaving which must be because of my kind and friendly nature.

    During my therapy a couple of years ago, I identified 3 core beliefs I should work on. And now in this video, these 3 sentences appear as the childhood wounds of my enneagram type (9) and both of my wings (8 and 1). If only my therapist had known about the enneagram...

    For years- literal years of knowing and enjoying studying the enneagram- I’ve always denied being a two. I’ve thought I could be a 7 because I was an imaginative kid who turns to fantasy as a coping mechanism. I’ve thought I was a nine because I hate conflict. I’ve thought I was a five because i tend to be logical and love learning. But I’ve always denied being a two because that’s too easy, right? Sure I want to care for each other at my own detriment. That’s just me being a good person!
    The uh. The childhood wound of the two. The. The “I’m only worth what I can give to others”. Uh.
    My mom was a single parent and I had to tend to myself and be independent as a kid, entertain myself. My mom did the best she could! But it really messed with me.

    Thank you for this! I recently discovered I'm a 1 and definitely agree. What's interesting is I developed some of the beliefs from types 2 and 3 as well, but I think they came from believing I could never make a mistake. I may need to show this to my therapist - we've started using CBT to work on my harmful beliefs, which are related to a lot of what you talked about in those 3 types!

    I'm a 23 year old ENTP 7w8 sp/so... And I appreciate you unveiling this, but I don't think I'm strong enough to heal or face it. It's like a coping mechanism for me at this point and it's sad but I can't break it.

      Im also an entp 7w8 but I’m really healing this days :)) don’t give up, for me personally it helped a lot start opening with people and feeling listened. Ofc everyone heals by themselves and do not depend on people but expressing yourself to others can help you a lot.

    So, it's it possible to be multiple numbers if you experienced a lot of these messages as a child?
    I feel like I'm a 1, 3, 4, 5, and 9. I had an extremely abusive childhood.
    I always test as a 4.

    I’m really curious about sub types and how they interact with your primary type… Also, is it possible to have a wing on either side? I am a one but very much have traits of a two and nine.

      @theenneagramwithevan  2 года назад +1

      Hi! Concerning subtypes, check out this video: ruclips.net/video/8iVSbIck9LU/видео.html Concerning wings, yes, it is possible to strongly relate to both of your wings. I'm a 5 and strongly relate to each of my wings.
