Love the summary! Took forever to find a video of someone just sharing their thoughts which is exactly what I wanted vs all the specs and paid sponsors. Thanks
What I would do is invest my money in purchasing a older model iPad in the 2nd hand market that is used or refurbished. The biggest caveat is that some people will be concerned about the iPadOS longevity of the iPad I’m going to purchase which is understandable.
Yea I agree the used market is incredible for iPads and is my recommendation as well. Both my iPad Pro and iPad mini were used models! I’d say as long as people can find a good deal on any of the M series iPads that are used that would be the best for longevity
I’m a casual iPad user, and I have the pro 12.9. I absolutely love this thing, had it since it came out. I love having a super large display and the promotion is so worth it
Thank you!!!! This was the only video that helped me make a decision on what I should buy based on what you are using it for so thank you !!!!!! You are amazing 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
iPads are more of a productivity tool for me. But every one has a different use case. Some people don’t need it because they won’t use it any differently than their iPhone, so if that’s the case then it’s not really worth getting one. But most people who get iPads usually get it so they can do something they can only do with an iPad or better on the iPad. Like artist, editors or simple note takers.
I have the Magic Keyboard and yes while it’s pricey i rarely use iPad Air 4 without it and just recently purchased iPad Air 5 and still using the Magic Keyboard and it does protect iPad Air.Going strong for 3 years now
Thank you! This was the only video that helped me understand what all these different devices are about. I also value your authentic review and opinion :) I am leaning towards getting the iPad Air as you said
I’ve been using the mini for a couple years now. I’ve gone on vacation with it and left my laptop at home. Enthusiast photographer- I was able to do all my photo editing with the mini.
Great video and editing! Just picked up a cellular 6 mini on Ebay for half off. Looking forward to setting it up in the car and also for homily notes in a pinch! - Fr. Kyle
Im going into High school next year and one of the requirements is a tablet. I immediately chose apple and this video helped me choose the right ipad for me. Im leaning towards the ipad 10 or air 4.
Thank you. I just bought the air 5. Its for my daughter who turns 11 on Sunday. She loves to draw and edit video (light), so the 10 gen didnt cut it .... its a pencil issue mainly. I already bought procreate for her. Hope I made the right choice now. Spent xx hours researching and debating back and forth... 😅 my head!!! Mainly, why I went this route is I heard procreate will not support alternative styluses moving forward. Lol, I sure hope she will draw A LOT 😂🎉
What Ipad would you suggest for students? I need to save documents, write down and organize my stuff, create presentations and etc and I do not want to spend a lot of money
This was helpful for me, I’m currently gimping along on my 6th gen iPad and need to replace it and consider one for business use as well. I’m thinking the Mini for personal and the Air for business. ;)
I was told by Apple support while trying to figure out which iPad was best for my needs that after seven years they will more than likely not be supported, so don't buy anything over five years old. However, they did mention that some older models will be supported but for how long she could not tell me.☹️I know they do that on purpose to get you to upgrade but good grief they are so high priced.
Well they will often want you to buy newer not what's most affordable or realistic for your use. So I usually will take the sales teams advice with a grain of salt. If you get an M1 iPad I'm sure you'll get a good amount of longevity if that's what you need otherwise, just get what best suits your needs
I'm on the fence with your recommendation about the Air being the best value for almost everyone, I lean more toward the 10th gen iPad for that one. I use the Mini 6 daily for content consumption, so I have to agree with you on your last point.
I can see that point about the 10th gen iPad! It's certainly cheaper overall even with it's compatible accessories. But with the M1 chip in the Air, it feels a bit more future proof and it has the compatibility with the apple pencil 2 and magic keyboard which is also a huge plus in my opinion. Also love to hear you're a iPad mini user as well!
Your point about iPad Mini not trying to replace anything makes me think so much about it. The overlapping ladderized pricing of these iPads is so confusing and making us think to buy more than what we actually need. If I can get a low-priced used iPad Mini with decent condition, I’ll go for it. At the moment, I am still torn if I need the extra screen real estate of the larger iPads.
Glad this was helpful for you! yeah I wont like they are waves of time that I dont use my iPads, but then waves of time where I couldn't live without it. so it really just depends on you I think!
@@liamsavage9 Nice to meet you bro, what's your earning source? just curious coz I'm from Asia and it's rare here for a 15 yr earning money...You're from europe or America ig right?
Thank you, for your comparison review of the different current iPad models in January 2024. What, I always tell others is if, you are OK with the older vintage design the basic iPad 9th generation is the only version to get. However, if you prefer a more modern design then pick-up an iPad Air model. As for the iPad mini, I think they are best for people who own the larger Pro iPad models but, still would still like to have something small and portable or for Ladies because it fits nicely inside of a women’s handbag (smile…smile).
One thing I don't think you mentioned is about battery life. I'm guessing the Pro has the best, but which of the cheaper iPads have the best battery life?
Sorry for the delayed reply, great question tho! The 12.9 pro definitely has the best battery. But the Air has is probably the best battery life in the cheaper iPads. I love the mini but depending on how much you use it, you might have to charge daily like an iPhone.
I have a an ipad mini 4 and is time to move on because I think his life has come to an end. But with all of these, I’m an asking myself if the M2 air will be good enough for drawing, playing games, streaming (netflix, max and others), and write some stuffs? If someone have more experience than me on that, please advise…
should i wait for new ipad to buy the Ipad Air 5? and if so how much will the Ipad Air 5 price drop when newer ipad is released? i think there will be an Apple Event in March.
Great question! There's nothing sure when they'll release the new iPads because they typically announce those in Q4 (around November) but they skipped that this year and I don't think it'd be announced at the March event. But if prices is what is holding you back, my suggestion would be to get a renewed Air 5 if you want to get one now cause those used prices will be significantly better than buying brand new.
Apple has been pretty good with software support for their older products. And the processor in both is the same to some of their former flagship iPhones. Chances are they will be support for a good number of years from their release date but I dont have an exact number. M1 products will have a lot more longevity tho.
I was told by Apple support while trying to figure out which iPad was best for my needs that after seven years they will more than likely not be supported, so don’t buy anything over five years old. I’m using a 6th gen right now,had it for 5 years now,it can’t work anymore, now I play cod on this tab and nowadays it lags a lot.even simple games like some small car games lag,I’m looking for a new tablet, doesn’t have to be iPad only it can be any tablet just please recommend me an iPad that is cheap and runs heavy games well
The 9th gen iPad is pretty good for what you need! Still a great price and will be a familiar design. If you wanted more longevity I’d suggest the 5th gen iPad Air! Hope this helps
Both are great! I think if you want more surface area to draw then the Air is the one you want. But the minis portability is also a huge upside to drawing on the go
I currently have an old 4th generation and can no longer stream apps such as HBO and Hulu , etc. due to software no longer being compatible. Would the Air be the most reliable replacement for retaining compatibility for this function in the future?
Yeah I think any iPad with an M1 chip or newer will have a longer lifespan than those without. So the Air with the M1 chip would be great in your case.
