@@GarageKing Mine doesn't even show a Christmas tree on a dash - just the key on orange square screen and also i saw a steering wheel with a padlock on a dash...
@@nazigrammar9728 Sometimes when you get low voltage the dash can do weird things. I would put a charger on it for the night and in the morning look at the voltage, it should remain around 12V when you are putting the key in and the lights are coming on, if its dropping to low (in the 10s) you most likely have a bad battery, and that will have to be replaced first.
@ the main battery was 3V, but I connected jump cables from a running car to the main battery and I connected fully charged jump box to the terminals under the hood - nothing changed

@@GarageKing just one question before start this project, do you unplug the battery before you start disconnecting everything or only when replacing the starter?
Hi, my car won't start after a long drive. There's no crank at all, and I need to wait 2 to 3 hours before I can start the engine again. Could this be related to the starter? The same car and engine model. Thanks
It may be related to the starter, sometimes when a starter goes bad it wont start when its hot, and you having to wait 2-3 hours makes sense that it would be cooling down. Now I can't confirm its the starter as I have not seen your vehicle, but I can say for sure its possible.
Hi i have 13 3 series 320d have similar problems as eddyson6067 above but i will tet turn over but not start comes up starter problem but does not show fault at mechanic will start with a jump start or a tow did put new battery in but still have problem any idea thanks Martin
Hi There, because it was able to be jump started I think its a power issue getting to the starter. So check all connections to make sure they are good. There is also a ground strap underneath that attaches to the frame. Sometimes that corrodes and can cause problems.
This was a very comprehensive video, I'm glad I stumbled up this one. One of the best I have seen, thank you for doing this.
Thank you
Well explained and straight to the point. You earned my subcribe 👍🏾
Hey there, I know they don't come easy so I appreciate that !!

@ the tiny connector from IBS was disconnected, maybe that's a problem?
No need to buy and use tty bolts. Just get the correct size grade 5 or 8 and torque using a fastener size chart.
Good call, some of the starters come with the bolts.

@@marcelomendez8381 I unplugged the battery right in the beginning, don't need no shorts LOL : )
hi garage king my e46 318i 2001model has the same problem of no crank no start no click what do u reckon could be the problem
I would say it could be the starter, as long as the battery is good. Its more likely you starter goes than the relay.
Please add the link for the e-manual! :)
Emanuals on line:
bit.ly/44zVazx and they have 30% off if you use code XMAS30 (ends Jan 2)
