    Perfect video!!! Outstanding! I was going around in circles trying to figure out my back hatch and figuring if it was the lock actuator or the body module. Figured I try this first and your video helped me remove the actuator! Actually had it off in 5 mins. Added the new actuator and now my hatch is back functional! Thank you!!

    A little tip, use a needle nose plier to push the metal through the plastic clips. Disassemble should take no longer than 5 min or less.

    Alright DMurph, I am going to do this today with the guidance of your video on my 04 Trailblazer. Local Muffler Man wanted 500 dollars to do this job! I was like, "skip that," I gotta figure out how to do this in my garage.

    • @savorwithdmurph1113
      @savorwithdmurph1113  5 лет назад

      I hope the job goes well! $500 is ridiculous as this job is pretty easy. Also check out my trim panel removal video to find out how to get to the actuator and please let me know if you have any questions! The actuator activated as soon as I plugged it in so it may be helpful to disconnect the battery.

      @@savorwithdmurph1113 Job went smoothly. The hardest part was lining things up with the new part. I am glad you mentioned don't mess with that white piece on the actuator. I also didn't plug in the power connectors until the end. Good video. I wasn't experiencing the noise you were hearing but in the winter time on the coldest days, the door wouldn't shut. I would park the trailblazer in the garage and would eventually shut. Then the last straw was the back door wasn't locking keeping people from getting in.

      @savorwithdmurph1113  5 лет назад

      Dang! Yes it sounds like it was time to replace the actuator Gregory. I'm glad my video helped out! I noticed there aren't many videos or even pictures of how to do this job and wanted to make something helpful. My door is doing well a month or so out and I"m glad the crazy noise is gone haha! Near the end, my door would lock but not unlock it was a real pain. I had to climb in and manually unlock it lol! Now it works good as new =)

    I need to do this, but my problem is that I can't even get teh hatch opened at all, not even from the little hole in the back panel. So I'm in the process of just breaking apart the current mechanism, being careful not to damage any parts I need to reuse. 07 GMC Envoy

      Remove the back panel. Had the same issue with my 2002 trailblazer and my brother took that big plastic piece off( was mentioned at the end of this video) and than he used a screwdriver to pop the hatch open but that will only work for so long. You will have to replace the actuator.

    I ordered and installed the same part off Amazon for $50 instead of $150 and it works just fine. Just a financial heads up. The more expensive one may have a warranty or some other reason for being expensive but the $50 dollar one works.

      Good to know! Feel free to post a link to the part for other viewers. I bought a $50 distributor cap for one of my cars a while back and it didn’t do a thing (after hours of labor) so I started going with the higher priced, brand reputable items for electronics etc.

    Nice install of the liftgate Lock Actuator but, what if the handle on the outside latch piece of the lift gate is also broken which doesn't allow you to open the liftgate as well. So sorry Dan. I also have several air conditioning actuator videos that get commented on quite frequently and I thought this was one of them. It does not need to be programmed or coded. It is a plug and play. Do you have a link to the part?

    • @danchristopher7957
      @danchristopher7957 5 лет назад +1

      @@savorwithdmurph1113 Thank you. Yes, this is in regards the rear hatch actuator... not (a) heating or air-conditioning matter. There are 2 plugs (one has a two leads and the other four). The 2 lead plug (truck wiring harness) I was able to use a voltage tester... hit the fob button... showed "hot" on the meter) the holes in the 4 lead plug was too small to accept the leads on my meter. I contacted ebay and told them I believe the (used) actuator was faulty.

    I installed it but my trunk light is on for some reason. What do you recommend?

    • @savorwithdmurph1113
      @savorwithdmurph1113  4 года назад

      The gate ajar light? Find where it gets pressed to turn off and test that. It looks like this is located near the lock. If that works properly, it may require readjustment so it is triggered when the back latch closes. It sounds like something may have been moved during the repair. Also, I used the oem part and there are some low cost alternatives that may not work properly. Is the part locking and unlocking?
      There are a few threads on google that discuss this as well. This is a good start.

      Yes the trunk ajar light is on. I have a 08 trailblazer. It locks and unlocks. Im almost certain I adjusted something wrong. But I went to a salvage yard and pulled the part off myself. Where are these threads located?

      Do a google search 2008 trailblazer gate ajar light stays on and it'll bring up quite a few results to look through. You'll want info that's closer to your year of make just in case there are any differences in years.
