If the door lock actuator fails or starts to fail, when you hit the switch it may make a noise and kind of wiggle but may not move up or down. That's typically what happens to them when they go bad. Hi! I’ve been a customer before and I don’t see door latch a door latch assembly for a 2004 blazer? I can’t even find it on any other auto parts sites. Are these not being made anymore??
I came home today and when I let my dog out the driver rear door, it wouldn't shut again. I made sure the latch wasn't stuck, but even with it opened, the door will not close. The latch and striker seem to line up perfect. The latch does not seem to lock in either a open or locked position. Would this be an indication I need a new latch assembly? Possible a spring broke or something? I am having a hard time finding a driver side rear latch assembly for a 2004 Envoy xl. The actual lock actuator seems to be functional still.
You may want to take the door panel off and see if something has become disconnected from the inside of the door that connects to the door key lock tumbler. Hope this helps you out. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393
Looking for one for a 2005 gmc sierra. For the actuator/cyclinder replace. Someone shoved a screw driver into the key lock. So we replaced the cylinder, but when you put the key in, there is no resistance at all. You turn any way and it doesnt lock/unlock. But it works with the key fob. Any ideas?

Great video. Question..... when in the 06 Trailblazer, and the radio is on, if you open the Drivers side front door, the radio does not shut off. But opening the passengers front, the radio turns off. I’m thinking it’s the door lock actuator. Any Ideas? Thanks
One day I came out to my 08 trailblazer and the key (drivers side door) would not unlock the vehicle. it wouldn't do anything, its like I was putting the key into the keyhole and nothing was in there! Anyway, now I cannot lock my vehicle since I can't unlock it from the outside as that is the only door that has a keyhole. Someone suggested that maybe someone tried to break in and caused the key mechanism to be misaligned. do you think this is what it is? I want to add that I the door also has electrical issues! It decides when it wants to work. Sometimes I turn on my car and its good but sometimes it is completely dead (no window/lock buttons work or anything). Should I just replace the door altogether at this point??? lol I would appreciate ANY advice!

My 2006 Trailblazer SS dome light wont shut off after passenger door is opened and then shut. I don't have the "Door Ajar" displayed on the dash so don't know if this would be a bad Door actuator or door switch/lock assembly...Any Idea?
I know I am posting to an old view, but this is the closet view to my issue. I have a 04 chev blazer, that the driver side lock rod clip has broken off. When i was final able to get the panel off an look inside. Not only did the top lock rod clip break, but the bottom one as well. The issue that i need help with, is that there is a safety feature that connects somewhere that if someone attempts to break in, then the doors will not unlock. Which has caused another issue because now that auto lock/unlock doesnt work corretly. It will allow me to lock, but not unlock. What i need help with, is the proper attachment and alinement of the lock bar and safety feature.
My door is stuck shut after being part of a hit a run, i managed to get the door panel off while being shut and tried messing with rods to get the door open. Nothing worked , keys ,inside . It felt as if the lock is staying engaged on the striker. Is there a way i can get door open ?

Question? My fob works on my 2002 Trailblazer EXT, however the key won't turn to open the door. It slightly pivots to the right or left, but won't completely turn. For quite awhile, the key would intermittently work fine and then not and then fine. Is this an actuator problem or something else? I am the original owner of the vehicle. There has been no accidents or damage to the door.

Well it looks like I need to buy a new door lock actuator for my 2004 chevy trailblazer, because when I push the lock or unlock button on my keyless remote, it makes a grinding noise and I can't use my key to unlock the door. Do I have to buy a door lock actuator with anti-theft? Seems pretty expensive.
+paratrooper You generally need to replace parts on the vehicle with an exact match. That means if you have a factory alarm, and the actuators are specific for that feature, you will have to get one that is compatible with the alarm.
Could you take a moment to explain what the actuator does and what it doesn't do when it fails ? My '04 TB (LS) rear drivers side door will not stay latched - like what a broken return spring would cause to happen (I'm pretty sure there are no return springs - just an analogy), In other words, the handle operates the latch ok, theres just no resistance to hold the latch in place after it hits the bar. Pull on the door by its edges and the door opens right up - no door handle(s) needed.Thanks !!!
The bolts aren't really 10mm. They're actually just a 10mm head. As far as the door panel reinstallation, open the window fully first so you can get the upper door lip as close as it was. It'll go on in the wrong position (out of the groove) but it won't be right. Good video though.

The factory Valeo actuator is 3 plug. The replacement is only 2. Why is this?

I think the switch is in this assembly. Because if you use a screwdriver to push the door latch closed the lights go on and off.

found out that all the gears inside of the plastic box were in pieces. Had it fixed today. only cost 90 bucks.
